Thrakos - July 3, 2006 01:41 AM (GMT)

YAY
other transformer fan :D
The Furox - July 3, 2006 02:04 AM (GMT)
That's interesting. And Spielberg is behind it as the executive producer. I guess that means there's probably some serious money involved. Could be good, at least I'm sure the special effects will be good. The only thing that concerns me a bit is that the writers don't have a very stellar track record. John Rogers, for example, wrote the screenplay for "Catwoman" which was a total bomb. Two of the writers wrote for the "Alias" TV series which is somewhat successful, but none of the three have any big successes. I'd say cautious optimism is in order. :)
Airshadow - July 3, 2006 03:11 AM (GMT)
will you watched it furox?
Skye - July 3, 2006 06:27 AM (GMT)
If this TF movie isn't good they'll be in for some serious trouble. Transformers has been around since 1984 and is still goin', there are alot of die hard fans including myself.
I know i'll be definatly be seeing the movie!
Burnout Beau - July 3, 2006 06:58 AM (GMT)
I do remember reading from somewhere that there is a Transformer movie coming out, but can't seem to find that source <_< . Furthermore, I also remember reading from the same source that Tyrese Gibson (from 2 Fast 2 Furious) might star in the movie.
Now I really have to search that source to reconfirm this case.
Penny Dreadful - July 4, 2006 12:46 AM (GMT)
Yep, yep, I heard about this around Fangoria a while back. Speaking about awesome news concerning incredibly large things that fight for the forces of good...does anyone remember Daimajin? :eep: Takashi Miike is directing a remake. Big news, because it's the ONLY remake I'm excited about.

You mean will I go see the movie? Yeah, I'd go see it, unless the reviews come out really bad (in which case I'll just wait a few months and rent it on DVD). Hopefully, Spielberg will make sure it gets done well with a decent script. Maybe we'll get lucky and the writers are huge Transformers fans. :)

I just bought a local entertainment magazine yesterday and I would like to point out some possibilities that I found regarding the movie:
1) Tyrese Gibson is not among the cast of the movie. Instead, the likes of John Voight, Bernie Mac and Megan Fox might star in the movie.
2) There are possible changes on the transformers; such as Bumblebee as a 2009 Camarro, Jazz as a Lamborghini Murcielago, Megatron as an alien spacecraft (what?), Starscream as an F-22 Raptor, Devastator as an M1 Abrams tank, Vortex as an MH-53 helicopter and Brawl as a cool-looking cop car.
3) Some of the original voice actors for the series might even be used for the movie.
Remember, these are just possibilities.

Who's seeing this when it comes out. I though id ask since its so close to coming out now.
 i know i am they just started advertising it in Australian Cinemas.

SRSLY.

Looks like the official website was updated again (3rd time). Go check it out! It's so powerful, my laptop cannot even load the page (low virtual memory!). :P

There are some slight changes in the facts above. Jazz turns out to be a Pontiac Solstice car, Brawl is the M1 tank, Barricade as the cop car and Blackout (whose name was changed from Vortex) as the MH-53 copter.
Other transformers appearing are Ratchet, Ironhide (both Autobots), Frenzy, Scorponok and Bonecrusher (Decepticons).

Found out from Wikipedia that Peter Cullen is the only original voice actor to reprise his role (as Optimus Prime). Also (suprise!), Hugo Weaving is providing the voice for Megatron! What's that all about? ;)
Furthermore, found out that Keith David (voice actor for Goliath in "Gargoyles") will be providing the voice for Barricade. Hmm...
Turns out that the movie will be hitting cinemas here a week earlier than in America. Hope the movie is as good as the other summer movies.
PS: Did it strike anyone that Starscream's body is triangular? :faint:
Khatah - June 15, 2007 10:04 PM (GMT)
I just found out its being released in Australian cinemas on the 27th Of June. So not that far away.
Ive seen the trailer for this when i saw pirates 3, it looks really really good if you like action movies. I would definatly recoment anybody to see it.
Burnout Beau - June 19, 2007 03:19 AM (GMT)
I know the movie was yet to be released, but apparently a sequel was already planned. However, that depends on how well the first movie performs though.
Here's an info I found about the sequel:
From Wikipedia:
| QUOTE |
On May 30, 2007, Dreamworks greenlit two more sequels. Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox and Peter Cullen have signed on for the sequels, while Michael Bay has not signed on to direct, saying "I'm trying to keep some leverage for the negotiations."
Soundwave is intended to be a new major character in the sequels, with his presence allowing a proper introduction of mass-shifting. Producer Tom DeSanto has "a very cool idea on how to introduce the Dinobots and Constructicons." Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura felt production would be quicker as the design aesthetics had been worked out. Bay may put in an aircraft carrier character, an idea which was previously too expensive for the first film. |
Wow, I can't believe they planned to put in the Dinobots in the sequel. Wonder how they'll look like. :plot:

That is awesome. Who is the scorpion looking bot shown in the trailers that attackes the marines in the desert?

that is scopinoc, he isnt really a vehicle but when he first appeared in Beast Wars ( The 3D animation ones) and oddly enough he was the only predicon that actually survived, he also never had an upgrade like most others though

Well they couldn't have the Dinobots in the first one since, they were made on earth. Soundwave will be fun to have in there, because where there is Soundwave, Lazerbeak, Rumble and Ravage are sure to to follow.

True. The Dinobots were only made when Spike showed the Autobots about the dinosaurs in one of the G1 episodes.
As for Soundwave, I wonder what he'll turn out as in the sequel. An iPod? :faint: But I have a feeling that he might turn out as a radar van based on one of the fan art I saw.
Still in the movie, I had read a junior novelization based on the movie and noticed that...
[SPOILER!] - Look away if you hate being spoiled! :eep:
Some transformers might be killed in the movie! :faint:
But just wondering, is the junior novelization exactly similar to the movie?
BTW, the movie is going to open here tomorrow. Ooh, so exciting!

No ipod, that is just plain silly. ^_^ In the cartoons in turned into a tape player so they got to find something that would work for today. A CD player would be better than an ipod thats for sure.
They better not kill off Optimus Prime. When in dies in the cartoon movie, people were so sad that they end up bringing him back to life in the later episodes. I don't think that they would kill him off that easliy, at least not in the first movie anways.
Khatah - June 27, 2007 06:09 AM (GMT)
Yeah they better not kill Optimus Prime. That would just make everyone angry. Just like what happened in the X-Men The Last Stand, cyclops died like WTF. They probably would have killed Wolverine but he just dosent die. In one on the comics Wolverine is reduced to one drop of blood, but still regenerates back to normal.
I really hate when they kill main characters in movies, its really annoying, and i hate the people for doing it.
desperada - June 27, 2007 04:27 PM (GMT)
for a fact: if they kill Prime off in the beginning or mid movie then Im not getting it, but if they were to kill him at the end then maybe I just wont watch the end
the cartoon movie was, as far as I know, the only cartoon transformers movie

The Great Grey - June 30, 2007 12:28 AM (GMT)
A guess it depends who was killed off.
It think would be soo cool if the person who did the voice of Starsream did his voice again, but that is possible since he past away. :( In the movie he sounds like a normal robot (if you call a robot normal). I like his nails on a chalk board voice. They should have gotton another annoying voice.
They better not kill off Starscream off because, ummm, because I would be very sad. But on the other hand if they did kill off Starscream, he could do some crazy things. People who watch the episodes after the cartoon movie, should know what I am talking about.
Burnout Beau - July 15, 2007 04:13 AM (GMT)
All right! I've just seen the movie yesterday and man, it was drac! Here are some of my thoughts about the movie:
[Spoiler warning!] For those who hate being spoiled, look away! - Otherwise, scroll down and have a look at them...
1. Firstly, I have to mention this: the funniest scene of the movie have to be when the Autobots gathered at Sam's house. Man, that scene itself has a lot of scenes that made the audience (and me) laughing; such as the scene when Ratchet got snagged at an electric line and fell; the scene when Sam's dad look out of the window while the Autobots were hiding at every corner of the house; the scene when Sam freaked out to see five vehicles (the Autobots) sitting in the middle of his parents' garden; etc. ^_^ :D
2. Bumblebee appears to have the most 'air time' in the movie compared to the other Transformers. I love how his character develop in the movie and his personality reminds me a bit of Beau. Another funny moment about Bumblebee is when Sam tried to run away from him on his mum's bicycle. :D
3. I'm not really impressed by the fact that the movie focused too much on the humans than on the Transformers...
4. ...But when they do appear, I have separate somments for them. For the Autobots, I really like Ironhide's 'let's-blow-'em-up' attitude, especially when he commented on Sam's parents and dog. :D For the Decepticons, I was upset that they killed off Brawl, perhaps the coolest-looking Decepticon in the movie (he's a tank, btw). Also, call me crazy but I find Frenzy kinda cute. He reminds me of one of those droids from Star Wars.
5. A response to this quote:
| QUOTE |
| Some transformers might be killed in the movie! |
Yep, it's true all right. Here are the casualties: :(
-Bonecrusher
-Brawl
-Jazz
-Blackout
-Megatron
Here are uncertain ones:
-Barricade (most likely alive)
-Frenzy (most likely dead)
-Scorponok (really uncertain)
Well, that's all I can say about my thoughts. As you'd noticed, the other Autobots (besides Jazz) survived and stayed on Earth. As for Starscream, stay a little longer at the credit and you'll see him fleeing Earth, perhaps to Cybertron. If that's the case, I bet he'll be calling in reinforcements and this will leave the door open for a sequel.
The Hydrag - July 15, 2007 04:43 AM (GMT)
I saw the movie July 7th and it was really coon. I liked Frenzy and Scorpionoc even though they are bad guys. My most liked Autobots are Bumblebee and Ironhide."Let me exterminate the rodent that lubricated on me. Ugh Now Im going to rust......." Then the one Autobot pops out the cork or what ever and pours lubrication on the crazy fed guy. Op. Prime:"Stop lubricating on the man"
Rachet gets hit by electric line: *Falls over* Whoa thats kind of tingly! You should try it!
I absolutly love that movie and will buy it when it comes out.

I really like Frenzy's constant chattering. Reminds me of a cross between an insect and the Star Wars droid. I'm not sure if Scorponok lives or not, but it's ridiculous that Frenzy got 'killed off' when his attack backfired. :faint:
My fave Decepticon is Brawl (the tank) but he got killed off by Bumblebee. <_< But at least Starscream lived. :plot: My cousin thinks Barricade looks cool too.

I know it's a bit too early to say this, but a sequel to the movie could begin production in June 2008 (providing the actors guild strike did not happen!).
Currently, there's no news on which new Transformers will appear in the sequel. The only one that is definately appearing is Soundwave. ;)
Sadly for Dinobots fans, director Michael Bay claims that they will not appear in the movie, but 'promised various Cybertronian species'.
The plot is still unknown, but it was rumoured to involve the Unicron saga.
If things go according to plan, the movie is slated for a late June 2009 release.

I had never even glanced at Transformers before the movie, but now I love it! I can't wait for the sequel.
I'm glad they aren't putting in the Dinobots, that would be a little too weird, I suppose. But what other various Cybertronians species could they put in?
Can't wait to see Soundwave come in! Is Ratbat one of his drones?
Anyway, I just hope the entire movie is mainly about the Transfomers, not the humans. Who here thinks Prime will bring Jazz back with the Allspark shard?

Man, I've been stalking the net for ages about TF 2009 and I've realised one thing:
Micheal Bay knows how to create hype. Big time.
The various autobot/decepticon vehicles have been spotted all over the place, with photos to prove it. I'm especially excited to see the Barricade Police Cruisers still being transported. (Is he not dead?! I don't want him to be dead, you never saw him die...) Ratchet and Ironhide were behind the three Cruisers on a truck, which made me giggle.
Ironhide: I can drive myself damn it! Lemme off! I swear to Primus I will BLOW YOU SLAGGING HUMANS UP! >( Gotta...shoot...'Con...
I would have loved to see the Dinobots in the film, but that would be a little too Godzilla for a modern audience. Maybe they can show up in the comics!
Are there any particular characters people would like to see join the group? I'm hoping for Soundwave, Thundercracker, Skywarp, Wheeljack, Prowl and the Twins.
...I only want the Twins to see if Movie!Ratchet will throw a wrench at them.
Some femes would be nice, but no romance, please Micheal? Let the girls be kick-butt instead of lovey like the humans were? Arcee and Chromia would not take to being babied because they're girls.
Starscream: Ha HA! Now I have you without your male protectors I will end you!
Chromia: ...You know I have the same rank as Ironhide, right? (Blows him the hell up. Starscream fades out like Team Rocket)
I do hope Frenzy got away. He was a fun little character, and squeaked swears when he got annoyed. I'm all for sugar-high Decepticons. I don't think the headshot killed him because according to Transformer's Law his spark wasn't destroyed. He'd be pissed and in pain, but he could still jump around and escape. *Sniffles* I loved that little guy.
Yup, still annoyed they killed off Jazz. :( NOT COOL! Couldn't they make up some not-loved-character to get ripped up?
So Starscream leads...we're all going to die. There is no way Starscream could keep all the Decepticons loyal to him. So we'll have mechs running around with no alliance randomly scaring the crap out of people;
Car thief: Hehehe...unlocked! :D
Random 'Con: Nom! (Car Thief is eaten by car door, much like a Venus Fly trap would eat a fly. 'Con spits out bones and clothing.) *BURP* What? There's no energon here.
Some more Sam and 'Bee interaction would be nice. (Twidles thumbs and whistles innocently. Nothing meant by that at ALL.) I'd love to see Ironhide as the Lennox's guardian. Something about him with little baby Annabelle makes me all warm and fuzzy inside. Scary!Ratchet is another thing they need to put in. They need to have someone miss their med-exam. :P
Decepshunmy - April 13, 2008 01:44 PM (GMT)
I loved it, when Megatron was restored to life after being frozen for a long time. He will come back, I believe, as Galvatron.

TRIVIA #1: Arcee was originally planned to make an appearance in the first movie, but was heavily criticized by fans and she didn't make it (not suprised. Feels weird to have a female Transformer around :eep: ).
And on separate note,
TRIVIA #2: Before being chosen as a Cybertronian Jet, one of Megatron's planned alternate mode is supposedly a dragon. Hmph, missed it...
