Title: Fanfiction.net's new rating system

ShadowCat - April 5, 2005 05:21 AM (GMT)
I wasn't sure whether to put this in Fanfiction/Fanart or not, so feel free to move it if you think it's in the wrong section.
Anyone seen FF.net's new rating system? Don't know why they changed it. I heard a while ago that some sites were getting in trouble for using the old rating system, but I don't think anyone got into any real trouble.
The new rating system is okay, I guess. Not too confusing.

i find it a bit limiting... but then again, I find Elfwood's rating system limiting too.

It's not really any different, they've just got different names. They seriously need a PG16 rating, though.

I think so, too.
A couple of other fanfiction sites I've been on to have changed their rating systems as well, but they're all different! It's kind of annoying!

I don't think they should've changed it but I guess it could've been worse. It's a bit confusing trying to work out which rating means what, though. It'll take me a while to get used to it.

The rating system isn't too difficult to work out.
By the way, I've asked FF.net to put up a Dragon Booster category as well. I figure they might do it if enough people ask.

Did you submit a fic? :) I've asked them twice, with two fics (my application one and another one).

ShadowCat - April 10, 2005 05:57 AM (GMT)
My application one.

Sarah Frost - April 10, 2005 06:23 AM (GMT)
Oh, good. :)

They can't ignore the Mass-- . . . . Pitiful Few, for long!

Areal_Ravendark - April 14, 2005 11:55 AM (GMT)
Why did they change the rating system anyway? It's just the old one with new names, whats the point?

LightningFlash - April 14, 2005 12:33 PM (GMT)
Requirement? Maybe they have to update because of all the kids that use, or something.

ShadowCat - April 15, 2005 04:54 AM (GMT)
I think some sites were getting into trouble for using the old rating system, but I'm not sure. Maybe FF.net decided to change it just in case.
