Title: When Opposites Attract
Description: Episode thirty-two

Professor Parmon - May 15, 2006 02:21 AM (GMT)
OK here is the place to discuss this episode. I feel sorry for those of us here in Canada that did not get to see it due to it's airing on a Sat.

OK here is a summery of this Episode.... If there is too much I know.. I just throwing this out as is. Better there is too much info then be asked for more. *SIGH*

Spoilers ahead of course!

5 4 3 2 1 Here we go!

OK in this episode we start by seeing Stewardd singing some song about him self in the under city, out side of the prophets temple He is pushing a mag-rack full of gear when Dragon Boosters Jakk-Stick falls from above. In this next scene we cut into a ongoing battle between Dragoon Booster and Shadow Booster. SB is using some ancient mag fighting skills to seriously wop DB’s butt. SB then try’s to use a skill called a Mag-Rip to drain BD & Beau’s mag energy. At this point Kitt jumps in to help DB get away, but SB sends them flying down a aqua duct using a mag pulse. In the next scene we see BD & Kitt coming out the bottom of the aqua duct in the waste lands. We cut over to see Propheci listening to Beaus cry of pain then planning to act against them while they weak. Next we see Lance & Parmon trying to figure where DB & Kitt ended up. But end up down below them self’s. As these two are falling, DB and Kitt hide in a old structure of some kind have a discussion about how bad DB was hurt. Next we see Stewardd on top of Propheci and under his control. They proceed to trap Kitt, DB, and their dragons in the their hiding place before setting off to try and rule the world yet again. Net we cut to Lance & Parmon coming out of the pipes in different places. Parm is captured by Moordryd, and both of them are caught by Propheci. Artha and Kitt dig their way out of cave-in so they can get gear to free their dragons. Now we see Lance being taken by Cain while Parm & Moordryd or lock in a Prophets cage fighting with each other on how to get out. Then we see Lance and Cain just miss getting caught by Propheci but end on underground with some Hydrags. Now that Artha & Kitt are out, Kitt using the Mag-rack and sticks Artha to it due the fact his energy is so low. Now after stop fighting and get out they try to escape but to no avail. Next Artha & Kitt end up meeting Reepyr and get his help to free to free Stewardd, get back DB’s Jakk-Stick and free the dragons. As Artha, Kitt, & Reepyr work on their plan; Parm & Moordryd get free and Lance and Cain get away from the Hydrags. But all of our friends end up meeting a central chamber. Artha, Kitt, & Reepyr go after and attack. Using his recovered Jakk-Stick, DB taps into the attacking Orange Dragons mag energy to recharge him self and Beau. After defeating Propheci, Kitt rescues Stewardd, by this time Beau has broken free and comes to stop the rest of the Prophets. We end things with the normal little wrap up ending, DB, Stewardd, Kitt, Reepyr, Lance, and Parmon talking about what happened and how to keep Propheci from getting free again.

I agree that it was a surprise to see it shown on a Saturday when the new episodes are usually shown on a Friday. It was a huge shock to see that I had missed it. :( Oh well maybe this means they will start showing new ones a lot more then they have up to this point. One can only hope. :cookie:

Hunter - May 15, 2006 07:59 PM (GMT)
I'm in Canada and i still didn't see it, cuz' i didn't know they would air a new friggen eppie on a Saterday! But, i'm not complaining, since there are people who haven't even seen the 3rd season yet......

J`Rin Tekaar - May 15, 2006 09:41 PM (GMT)
Well, the transcript`s done(if you haven`t checked it out yet)
This ep had a good mix of action and comedy - especially when Kitt mags Artha to the mag-rack (hanging there by the seat of his pants like he`s getting the ultimate wedgie); action-wise, we see a new mag-attack in the form of the'mag-rip' - like a mag-blast, but this one drains all your opponent`s mag energy, and ..."the more you struggle, the more you lose!" (to quote the Shadow Booster)
I hope this one gets repeated this Friday, it was great!

silverwing - May 15, 2006 10:41 PM (GMT)
I agree it would be nice if CBC actually showed a schedule but there is not much that can be done about that. The transcript I read sounded very good and I will be excited to see this episode when they show it again. ^_^

2nd, Stewarrd singing?..........DRAC!
3rd, Stewarrd controlled by bad dragon, and soudns weird? I thought Connor would sound the worst being controlled by Propheci......
4th, WE STILL DON'T SEE GUNNY!!!!! *has 2nd mental breakdown*

Nice summary now i have a Gist of whats going on. And i am DEFINITLY BLOODY WELL PISSED RIGHT OFF THAT THEY PLAYED NEW EP> ON SATURDAY!!!. I remember b4 olympics of this year htey played mon-friday. I remember also watching it on saterday till after olypics. ahts really retarded. I really wanna see this one. btw If Mordryd (Shadow Booster) does help DB in this episode it was just so everyone can get out/ and to save is own @$$.(SB) But on the other hand... look at the episode "Wraith Booster" He defied is father and got DB back to himself. He realized (for the last part of the show) that what his father was doing was wrong. So if he does help DB out in this episode... Mordryd would say "I have my reasons" (quote from wraith booster episode) and eventually he will have to help DB to stop the war. Remember the 5 colors of power and balance. and Black is 1 of em. So maybe he is also having a bit of a struggle in character. Trying to do whats right and yet go his own way. I dunno.. All i F.....ing do know is that i hope they play this episode on a friday so we, yes i said WE ALL can see it.

PS: and dont give up on the DB DVDs yet.. I have a gutt feeling another will be out later on. Not sayin there is or that i got new info on it or anything. Its just a gutt feeling. Actually they better. Ive seen Dvds that have shows from 20 years ago that are just starting to be release. So they better bring out DB Volume 2 out soon. (Be nice if it was complete seasons that were brought out).

You too huh.. Every Friday i do an all nighter. Staying awake for Saturday mornings. They are accurate up to 8/9 Am on their standard time slots then its all f...d Up. One weekend they played the exact same CBC Kiddy shows that was played 2hours b4 that so the shows played from 7-9 was played at 9-11. What the heck is that all about. i think they really messed up on the TV schedule for when it comes to other TZ's. Hell i made myself a member there so i wouldnt have to keep changning TIme zones so i would know when DB is actually being played in my area.... that dont work at all either. So i still check because u never know when they are gonna change DB times again. But i really do miss watching DB from Monday-Thursday and with NO BLOODY CUTS In the MIDDLE of the SHOW. I think it sorta ruins it. U get all ampt up and into the show then this stupid crap comes on with these "X" hosts who talks about BS that is not worth knowing.
I remember just watching DB without no intruptions. that was excellent. I miss the old days. which was about 5-8 months ago when everything was good for DB times.

Oh... Sorry for going astray there for a bit. To those who do not know what im talking about just bare with me. To those who do.. Im pretty sure u guys agree.

Ya! that was sooo nice! DB no interruptions, all the good X hosts that didn't interrupt the shows they were showing! The Void is really anoying, actually scratch that, very agrivating. Joy, I find her anoying, Dave isn't as bad, but when they had him on the x, he was better. Morgon waters, was ok when he had the rolling x, but his own show is just disturbing. The x was great! At least dragon booster is still on fridays, and Chilly beach is still on. :)

Morgan Waters had George Strompoloumpalous (totally spelt wrong)on his show once. His show still stinks.
The void bugs me sooooooooo much. The only shows that don't stink are DB and Chilly Beach. Its only on fridays and saturday at 9:00 and 9:30, so during the rest of the week im Dragon Booster deprived!! At least its on tomorrow...

SilverDragon - August 12, 2006 02:37 AM (GMT)
It's up for download, people!

Quite a good episode, I think.

Dragon Booster gets the crap beaten out of him. YAY!

Kitt gets a good role here, as Artha is basically inconvinienced for most of the episode. The writers have learned.

Propheci fans will be happy that the psycho orange dragon with a plan has broken out and possesed Stewardd.

One question: Where the HECK is Gunny?

We focus less on Artha (and Kitt :( ), and more on the other characters. Parm attempting to civilize Moordryd is especially funny.

Wyldfyr and Beau don't do anything for most of the episode. It's actually rather interesting to see how the humans go without their dragons.

Oh, and Decepshun is (presumably) blocked from reaching Moordryd by an especially large pillar brought down by Propheci.

Lots of juicy dragon acting.

Hi people! sorry i've been gone for so long, comp. problems, sigh...

well living in the western side of Canada is proving to be a problem with CBC, Dragon Booster was on fridays at 4:00, and Saturdays at 9:30. I was so glad. Now that september has ended, the scheduale says DB should be on at 8:30 on Saturday, but from 8:30 on there was no DB. And they are not showing DB any other day. I tried downloading the episodes, but problems kept happening. I hope they fix this problem. When ever they show the episodes at the same time for all the provinces, the episodes show, But when they try to air shows at different times for different time zones the episodes don't show in some parts of the country.

Armeggadon - October 15, 2006 05:39 PM (GMT)
This was the best episode in the history of Dragon Boosterdom, well as far as ive seen!

The Furox - November 8, 2006 04:48 AM (GMT)
Ah, now this was a good episode! :) As with any episode involving the Prophets, you've got lots of dragons involved and taking charge. So nice to see. Overall, this was one of my favorite season 3 episodes so far.

I loved seeing Propheci again, and I'm glad he made an appearance this season. Of course, it would be even better if the Prophets showed up even more often, but oh well.

QUOTE (SilverDragon @ Aug 11 2006, 06:37 PM)
Lots of juicy dragon acting.

You got that right! One of the best things about this episode was they finally started animating dragon reactions. It's still not as much as I would like to see, but it's a big improvement from say season 1. Did you see that nice reaction shot they added of Wyldfyr when she saw Beau getting recharged at the end? (I'm going to assume the book is correct and that Wyldfyr is female until I hear someone call Wyldfyr "boy" at least one more time in the show.) That was a nice "wow!" look on her face and is such a contrast to her total lack of reaction in early episodes like "Fanning the Flames". I remember in that one that she just stands there staring into space when she sees Beau transform for the first time. That really should have drawn a reaction from her. It's nice to her finally reacting to things like this since she seems more alive and not just part of the background. Maybe she has a personality after all. :D

And I think this is the first time Artha has spoken directly to a dragon other than Beau and Propheci. About time. :) Artha talks to Beau pretty regularly, but have you noticed how all the other humans almost never say a word to their dragons?

I also liked the way the orange dragon Reepyr was with reacted and smiled when Reepyr said he/she was an ally. These are small touches, but it helps make the dragons seem more alive and I'm really glad to see it. Perhaps Nerd Corps has been reading some of my past comments about this. :)

And of course, Propheci was animated to perfection as he usually is. In some ways, I think his facial expressions come across even better than Beau's. I think that's partially because he has such an intense personality and because we get to hear him speak through his rider which backs up the facial expressions. He's one of those villains I just love watching.

And we actually get to eavesdrop on Propheci's thoughts at the beginning of the episode when he didn't yet have a rider to speak through! This is the very first time we've ever "heard" a dragon's thoughts. That's something of a milestone. :) I wish we'd get to hear what more dragons are thinking.

So that was a pretty intense battle between DB and SB at the beginning, wasn't it. And I think this is the first time we see a dragon get seriously hurt by something. Prior to this, the dragons always just get up and shake it off. Magna Draconis wasn't kidding when he said they were upping the ante on the battles this season and things would be getting more dangerous.

I was a little surprised that Moordryd didn't show all that much reaction upon meeting Propheci. After all, when was the last time he's met an orange dragon, let alone a talking one. :) I know time is limited in these episodes, but it seems he should have commented on that at least once.

Oh, and I liked the scheme they concocted to recharge their energy. It was a logical extension of gear and things we've seen before as opposed to a deus ex machina ending. Nice.

QUOTE
One question: Where the HECK is Gunny?

I thought the exact same thing. I wonder if we'll ever get to see his dragon. This story kind of required that Stewardd be alone so he couldn't easily escape when Propheci found him, but I really want to see Gunny at some point. :)

QUOTE
Parm attempting to civilize Moordryd is especially funny.

I thought that was well done. Moordryd was in true anti-hero form: he only reluctantly worked with Parm, not because it was the Right Thing™ to do, but because he had no other choice. That's definitely Moordryd and I think that's the way he'll be in the future. I don't see him ever being best friends with DB, but he will reluctantly work with him.

Great episode overall. And it looks like my prediction about the Prophets becoming allies with the Dragon Booster was mostly correct. All of them except for Propheci himself have switched sides now. I was expecting Propheci to switch sides as well, since he showed he can change his mind back in "Track of Doom." But perhaps they're saving that for a future episode since they clearly left the door open for Propheci to be in another story. Ooo, I so hope so. I really want to see him again. :D

Skylii - November 18, 2006 07:08 PM (GMT)
HO SCALES!

I - but I - holy mother of - DUDE! *points* THERE IS EQUAL AMOUNTS OF HET AND SLASH IN THAT EPISODE! *gunned down*

Can't BELIEVE I got cut off when Moordryd was doing his "please" stuff! *headbangs* (No, actually...he looked kinda creepy when he fakes smiles. Then again, who doesn't?)

No, seriously, Parm's "no" wasn't enough to obliterate all the huge amounts of A/K in this episode. I swear, it's like, ACTUAL TENSION. For Drakkus' sake, THEY WERE IN EACH OTHERS' ARMS! (And you know what else? Kitt was seme! :P)

God, useful Kitt is awesome. But still there for pointing out the obvious. However, I think she has the potential to make a really good Fire Booster. She's more experienced than Artha, and makes a good co-leader for the team.

And for a moment, I actually felt genuinely sorry for Artha. Looking really pale and tired...that should happen more. Pain brings you sympathy. Why else do I like Moordryd?

No, WAIT, before all the people flame me for being a sick, twisted b-one or the other, I mean it. The more problems that arise for Artha, the more he can train. That way, he gets BETTER instead of LUCKY.

He looked...really pale. Like a Prophet.

Which now leads on to another one of my crazy conspiracy theories. Artha claimed that his lack of draconium tandem with Beau is what is making them both sick. We now know how important it is for dragons and humans to work together as one.

That's not what the Prophets used to do.

As you could see in many previous episodes, the Prophets looked really sickly. That's because all that was happening was that they only served as voice boxes, while the DRAGONS took control. Again with the "be one with your dragon". If you do not follow that rule, then you will never be able to hold peace with your dragon or your human, and quite possibly, your lack of draconium energy should make you unhealthy.

...hehe, tyrant Stewardd. Am I the only one who found this funny? :P

OMFGFIUSGRDuiukWgfyujea YEAH!!1!!11!!1!One NOW I know why I was thinking of M/P working out! (*gets blown to smithereens by LF*) I MEAN LOOK AT THAT! I know that the Dragon Eyes have a thing for intruding personal space and breaking personal bubbles, but really now, after that, those two were just cooperating so awkwardly and yet so smoothly at the same time that I think my Gaydar went on overdrive! Heck, those two make a nifty team! I mean, all Cain and Lance did was jump into a hole of Hydrags and open a door and pretty much were useless except for humor (kudos for Cain's little "where was I? Oh, yeah, babysitter not here, my job not to do that, etc etc" comment), and Moordryd and Parm actually WORKED TOGETHER! I mean Moordryd grabbing Parm by the edge of his pants and shoving him forward so he could grab that...that thing, then giving Parm a genuine Paynn smile and remark, and Parm managing to make Moordryd say PLEASE, and then the exchange of snark when they were trapped, then those two getting surrounded and then Moordryd giving orders and Parm following them well and OMG! They just worked together so well! See, this is why I can't support Moordryd/Cain; I think they're too brotherly and I just CANNOT support master/lackey. Now, Moordryd/Parm just works so FREAKIN' ABNORMALLY WELL it just makes me go EEEEEEE!

...that paragraph was MUCH bigger than my intended A/K one. :giggle:

As for the rest, well, the storyline went along smoothly. It didn't excuse most of the usual flaws of DB, like Lance and Kitt constantly stating the obvious, but this was genuine. And Reepyr was just so drac in this episode. That reckless grin and the amount of slamming his mag-staff on the tyrant Prophet dragons, and how much confidence he's gained! Stewardd was also pretty cute in the first parts of the episode. It got funnier and just plain freaky when he became Tyrant!Stewardd. :P

And that mag-rip has GOT to be learned by Artha. Seriously, it would help him. That whole battle was pretty drac.

Plus we also learn that the jakk-stick is "the magic item, since they're the rage BOOYA".

And the interaction between Beau and Wyldfyr very minimal but what the heck it was there. ^^ (But yeah, where's Gunny?! Are the Keepers that withdrawn from their adorable little dragons that we can't even glimpse one in the actual show?!)

And there's my review. Now if you excuse me, I'm gonna rewatch what I got of this episode.

Their tension is pasted on yay. :P

Maybe I'm in denial, but to me Artha and Kitt's 'tension' (so cawled :P ) is almost thrown at the viewers in a 'Hey kids, look! Pretteh Hero and Spunkeh Chick are together! It must be lurve!' kind of way, where as Kitt/Parm is more naturally occuring, and understandable, and based on something more than; Artha is the Hero; he needs a Love Interest.

I think Moordryd would probably run out of patience with Parm very quickly. He finds Cain annoying enough, and he doesn't technobabble. XD

That reminds me of 4-h no one else talks to their 4-h calves, but I do, I think it calms them down, to hear a soothing voice, and it also lets me focus on something else other than the pressure of the crowds.

And we actually get to eavesdrop on Propheci's thoughts at the beginning of the episode when he didn't yet have a rider to speak through! This is the very first time we've ever "heard" a dragon's thoughts. That's something of a milestone.  I wish we'd get to hear what more dragons are thinking.

ya I noticed that too! that was different for a change.

No, WAIT, before all the people flame me for being a sick, twisted b-one or the other, I mean it. The more problems that arise for Artha, the more he can train. That way, he gets BETTER instead of LUCKY.
He looked...really pale. Like a Prophet.

Ya I know what you mean, it sucks to have problems happen to a person but it actually builds character. Like the saying goes what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger, well this is true in most cases.

Artha looked like he was going to faint, :faint: and he almost did too.
looked like he was going to become unconscious. :poof:
Reminds me of some scary times.... o man does fainting suck! :faint: ....
On a more positive note, at least he found a way to get better, and it was amazing to watch
Overall a neat episode

Maybe I'm in denial, but to me Artha and Kitt's 'tension' (so cawled :P ) is almost thrown at the viewers in a 'Hey kids, look! Pretteh Hero and Spunkeh Chick are together! It must be lurve!' kind of way, where as Kitt/Parm is more naturally occuring, and understandable, and based on something more than; Artha is the Hero; he needs a Love Interest.

I think Moordryd would probably run out of patience with Parm very quickly. He finds Cain annoying enough, and he doesn't technobabble. XD

Denail. :P *blown up* Artha and Kitt were actually cooperating and showing actual body language that they liked each other, whereas Parm and Kitt interact mostly. Don't get me wrong; interaction is a HUGE part of a relationship, but it needs to have chemistry along with it. Parm and Kitt are just blah. I'm pretty sure Parm finds Kitt incompetent, along with Artha, Lance, and the rest of the people he's trying to get to listen to him. Meanwhile, Kitt just ignores everything the Professor says and dubs him annoying. :P

I'm not too sure about Moordryd not understanding what Parm says. I mean, Word could've easily understood what EvilPsycho!Parm said in "Rules of Power", but since Parm was talking too fast, he couldn't. The same should apply for Moordryd.

By the time we get to the second or third batch of M/P, I hope bet that Parm will know how to deal with impatient, incompetent people and Moordryd will be able to catch up with Parm's babble. :P
