Okay....Thanks to Mari's recent sending of great ideas to me I have finally decided to start writing a SEQUEL to the Mechanist!

Chapter One

It has been a few months since the kidnapping of the Gray Dragons and Libris by Word Paynn. Things had pretty much gone back to normal....including Mari's prankster streak.

Today Mari had set the best prank her mind could devise in motion. Her first target: Rivett. This prank would be her best yet. All she needed was a few yellow bellied newts.

After obtaining the newts she quietly went into Rivett's room and without waking Rivett, slipped them under his sheets. They started wriggling around and moving all over. Mari quickly bolted out of the room. She hid behind his door and counted to her self "3...2....1...."

Rivett tossed and turned in his sleep. He felt something wriggling around in his sheets. He carefully moved the sheets. He then saw what had been wriggling. His eyes slowly widened.....

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! AH! AH! AH! Get these...things off of MEEEEE!" Rivett's screams of surprise carried through the Compound. Mari was simply dying of laughter. She was in tears by the time Rivett stomped out of his room now in a very bad mood. The newts had scampered off when he had started screaming.

Mari swiftly gathered the newts back into their box and hid them away in her room. She went into the main room of the Compound, forcing an innocent look onto her face.

Rivett was very angry. If there was one rule in the Compound then it would have to be: DO NOT EVER make Rivett angry. He was trying to hold back his quickly building rage when Mari entered the room. However....he couldn't quite hold it back enough.

"WHAT WAS THAT ABOUT?" he yelled at Mari enraged.

"Nothing Rivett....the newts just got out of their box thats all...heh" Mari spoke calmly and still maintained the innocent face.

"They got out of their box huh? And exactly how did they do that may I ask?" Rivett asked. He was close to snapping.

"Well....um....they somehow pushed off the lid and got out...I guess...." Mari replied still calm.

"they pushed off the lid and got out....a likely story Mari...." Rivett said with a glare.

"Its true!" Mari said "Don't you believe me?"

Rivett couldn't take any more of the conversation. He snapped.

"MARI! JUST SHUT YOUR MOUTH AND LISTEN! I DO NOT BELIEVE YOU!! IN FACT, I DON"T EVEN WANT ANYTHING TO DO WITH YOU! Don't you GET IT? Right now I just don't like you okay? I-DON'T-LIKE-YOU" Rivett yelled with scorn.

"So you're saying that....you...you....hate me?" Mari asked. Tears were actually appearing in her eyes now.

"No....I...." Rivett couldn't figure out what to say next but from Mari's reaction it was clear as to what she thought.

"You do hate me! I knew it!" Mari was now in tears and wanting nothing more to do with Rivett, ran off to her room and slammed the door. Hard.

"Mari, wait....!" Rivett yelled to her but it was no use...Mari was gone and it was all his fault.

He told Machina and strangely enough she didn't seem to care. She told him that Mari was always like that. She told him that Mari was just a brat and eventually would learn to grow up.

"Rivett, she'll be okay...I know my little sister. She's as tough as any dragon and twice as clever...believe me...I know" Machina tried to console her boyfriend but he didn't seem to want to acknowledge her.

"I...I'm gonna go outside....get some air" Rivett said to Machina.

He grabbed his cloak and pack and stepped out into the brisk air. It was a tad chilly as it always was in Down City but the sky was clear.

Rivett wandered around a bit thinking about what he had said to Mari. Questions floated around his mind: Should I have yelled at her like that?, Did I overreact?, Did she even deserve to be yelled at?. Answers however, were lost to him at the moment.

As he wandered around he heard something. It sounded like a child yelling something. The crying got louder.

"Help me! Somebody help! Eeek!"

The voice sounded like a little girl. Rivett rushed toward the voice and as he followed the voice it became clearer. He then also had a view of who the voice belonged to.

There, cowering in the alleyway was a young girl. To Rivett she looked about 11 years old. He then saw why she had been screaming. One of Word Paynn's Wraith Dragons was attacking her. It had gripped her shirt by the collar and lifted her off the ground preparing to take her.

Rivett wanted to help the girl so he ran over to her.

Before he rushed in to save the day, Rivett analyzed the situation. The alleyway was a dead end. The girl was there hanging by the collar in the dragon's jaws struggling and the dragon prepared to take her.

He then yelled to distract it/

"Hey Bone Head! Over here!" he yelled loud. The dragon turned to face him. The girl was in its jaws. She was no longer struggling as she had exerted all her energy struggling to free herself.

"Put the girl down!" Rivett yelled to the dragon in a commanding way. The dragon didn't put the girl down. Instead, it tried to flee.

"Oh no you don't!" Rivett exclaimed. He ran after the dragon chasing it through the dark streets and narrow alleyways until they reached another dead end.

"Nowhere to run and definetly nowhere to hide" Rivett yelled to the dragon.

He pulled out a thin staff from his pack. That staff seemed at first glance, a simple magstaff but it wasn't. This staff had enough electric charge packed inside to bring down a dozen Wraith dragons.

The dragon had no weapons except his claws. He was in a bad position so he decided to flee and use the girl as a distraction.

Rivett was prepared to attack the dragon when it suddenly released the girl from its jaws and headbutted her towards him. It fled as as fast as it could.

Rivett braced himself and the unconsious girl hit him like a stone. The impact sent him sprawling yet he managed to wrap his arms around the girl to protect her. There was a lot of dust in the air from his scuffle with the dragon so he couldn't see much.

When the dust settled Rivett first noticed that the dragon was gone. It had fled in all the commotion. He then checked the girl. She seemed okay apart from being scared out of her wits by the dragon. He picked her up bridal-style and carried her back to the Compound.

Chapter Two

Rivett had just rescued a young girl from a very fierce Wraith Dragon. Now what to do with her? He decided to bring her to the Mechanist Compound.

When Rivett stumbled in with the girl in tow Machina noticed.

She gasped.

"Rivett! What happened to you? You're all scratched up and-" she then saw the girl. "Oh! Who is this little one?"

"I have no idea what her name is. She was attacked by a Wraith Dragon. I felt like being the hero so I rescued her. She's pretty much alright except for the fact that she's unconsious" Rivett replied.

"Okay...what should we do with her when she wakes up?" Machina asked Rivett.

"I don't know! I guess keep her here until she wants to leave or something..." Rivett responded.

"Sounds like a plan....but what about her parents?" Machina said.

"Her parents? I have no idea about her parents!' Rivett responded.

"So she's an orphan then?" Machina asked.

"Yes...I believe so" Rivett said.

"Alright....so we have an orphan ten year old girl on our hands here....for now lets just get her comfortable....okay?" Machina said.

"Okay. I'll put her in one of the guest rooms" Rivett said. He picked up the girl and took her off to the room.

When he got in the room he gently laid her on the bed. Then he left the room.

After a few minutes Machina went into the room. She now could see the girl up close. The girl had chocolate brown hair and fair skin. Her outfit consisted of a white, short-sleeved t-shirt and a pair of khaki pants. A pair of sneakers finished it off.

"What a cute little girl..." Machina murmured. She quietly left the room to get the other Crew members. She wanted them to see the girl.

"Okay everyone....this is the little girl that Rivett rescued" Machina said.

"She's nice..." Shyft said.

"What Shyft said" Haarth replied.

"I guess she's....okay" Mari replied.

"Is this all you guys have to say? I would have expected a little more concern" Machina said.

"What more do you want us to say sis? She just got here, we know nothing about her and until we know her name there really isn't much to say" Mari said.

"I just wanted to know what you guys thought of her...." Machina said.

"What we said is what we think of her....at least for now" Mari said.

"Okay then...why don't we get out of here and let the little lady rest?" Machina said. They all left the room as quietly as possible.

For now the little girl was unconsious but would she wake tommorow? Maybe....

Mmmmh interesting , I thin this girl, Dyana, will be a little problem (and this is not her name).

Ehehehe, you're gonna have fun with my ideas, huh? *cackles evilly* I know what's gonna happen, I kno what's gonna happen!!! See, the little girl, she- *dodges rotten fish from DB500* Oh, fine, I won't tell! :lol:

And now....Chapter Three!

Chapter Three

It was early in the morning when little Dyana woke from her brawl with the Wraith Dragon.

Where the hell am I? she thought. What am I doing here?. Then it hit her. Somebody had rescued her but she had no idea who....

A few minutes later, Machina walked into the room. She noticed that Dyana was awake.

"Oooh! You're up! You okay?" she asked.

"I...I'm fine but....where am I? and what am I doing here?" Dyana replied.

"You are at the Mechanist Crew Compound and you're here because my friend Rivett rescued you from that nasty Wraith Dragon and brought you here" Machina said.

"Oh.....I see.....can you thank him for me?" Dyana asked.

"How about you thank him in person?" Rivett had just walked into the room.

"Oh hi Rivett!" Machina jumped when she saw him. She hadn't expected him to appear just like that.

"Well....thank you for rescuing me....Rivett. By the way...my name is Dyana" Dyana said.

"You're very welcome Dyana. Nice to meet you." Rivett replied nicely.

"I'll go get everybody!" Machina said.

"Wait Machina....don't just bring everyone in here! She just woke up from a concussion you know...bring em' in one at a time" Rivett said.

"Okay then" Machina said. She left the room with a happy smile on her face.

"What is with that woman?" Dyana said.

"Um....she's just really happy I guess" Rivett said with a shrug. He had never seen Machina that happy before.

Suddenly Machina returned with the rest of the Mechanist Crew....well, almost the rest of them. Mari refused to come out of her room.

"Okay Dyana....this guy right here is Shyft" Machina introduced him.

"Hi" Shyft said.

"Hi" Dyana replied.

Shyft left and another young man walked in.

"This guy here is Haarth." Machina said.

"Hello" Haarth said.

"Hi" Dyana replied.

"My little sister Mari would say hi to you too but she's being a little brat and refuses to come out of her room" Machina said.

"Oh...that's okay" Dyana said. "She can see me later if she wants" under breath she added "more like if she dares".

"Well....thats basically all the humans here! Do you want to meet the dragons?" Machina asked.

"Okay!" Dyana said. She perked up at the thought of dragons.

Machina led Dyana to the Dragon Stalls where all the Grey Bone Dragons were kept.

"These are our special Gray Bone Dragons" Machina said.

"They're HUGE!" Dyana exclaimed.

"Yes they are! This really big one here is Libris! He protects the place" Machina said.

Dyana stared in awe at the huge Grey Dragon. He looked down at her and snorted.

"He says hello" Machina said.

"Um...hello to you too Libris!" Dyana said.

Libris simply flashed a big toothy grin. The girls left the stalls.

Now that Dyana had met most everyone in the Crew, she felt a bit more secure. She hoped she would have a nice time here.

Wow! I just finished reading your first series of the Mechanist and just finished this one! All I can say is...WANT MORE! :D Seriously man! Okay...Chapter Four!

Chapter Four

Dyana had been living with the Mechanist Crew for a few days now. She was friends with all the Crew members except Mari. She and Mari just didn't see eye to eye.

Today she would try to befriend Mari....if that was even possible.

"Um...hi Mari!" she greeted her.

"Uh...hi?" Mari said akwardly.

"So...what's up with you?" Dyana asked.

"I'm fine....you?" Mari replied. She was a tad puzzled. This little kid is trying to strike up conversation...with ME?! What in the name of Magna Draconis is going on here? she thought.

"I heard that you're Machina's sister" Dyana said.

"You heard right....Machina is my big sister....she's also a big pain in the scales" Mari said.

"Really? She seemed nice to me!" Dyana said.

"Oh you don't know Machina like I do...she can be really mean to me....she yells at me all the time" Mari replied. That wasn't all true. Machina did yell at her on occasion but certainly not all the time.

"She yells at you all the time? Are you sure about that?" Dyana said. What Mari was saying was a tad suspicious.

"Hello! Machina is my sister! I know her better than anyone. By the way did you know Rivett is her boyfriend?" Mari said.

"No I didn't actually....thats cool. Rivett is kinda cute...." Dyana said blushing slightly.

"Whaaa?" Was all Mari could say to that. Who in the name of Magna Draconis would think that Rivett is even remotely attractive...besides Machina? she thought. She had a puzzled look on her face.

"Um....Mari....are you okay?" Dyana asked. Mari was simply staring at her in shock. Dyana waved her hand in front of Mari's face but there was no response. Did I really shock her that much? she thought.

Mari snapped out of her confusion.

"Oh..yeah I'm okay..." she said.

"You sure?" Dyana asked.

"Yes I'm sure! Sheesh..." Mari replied with annoyance.

"Well....why don't you tell me a bit about yourself....I'd like to get to know you better....if that's alright with you" Dyana said.

"Okay. I guess I'll tell all" Mari said. She explained in detail about herself. Dyana listened to everything intently.

"Well....that's about everything on me! What about you?" Mari asked.

"Here goes" Dyana murmured. She told Mari everything about herself. Mari was very interested...particularly about the dragon attack.

"I honestly don't know why that dragon even attacked me...." Dyana said.

"Maybe it was hungry? I'm only joking!" Mari said seeing the spooked look on Dyana's face.

After the two chatted about each other and other things for a while, Rivett walked over to them.

"Well what have we here? Mari actually getting along with someone? Thats a first!" he said with a laugh.

"Shut up dragon-breath" Mari said.

Rivett just rolled his eyes. "Is that the best you can come up with?" he said.

"I could come up with worse but I'd have to use words that are rather....mature" Mari said.

"Such as?" Rivett said with a smirk.

"I told you I can't say! Stop trying to egg me on!" Mari yelled.

"Come on! You know you want to say it!" Rivett said with a mischivous grin.

"For the last time....I-can't-say-the-word....but I can do this!" Mari showed Rivett a rude gesture.

Suddenly the room went completely silent. Dyana was wide eyed with shock and Rivett was rendered speechless.

Rivett then broke the awkward silence.

"Wow.....wherever did you learn that?" he asked.

"Let me think.....from you" Mari said.

"From me?" Rivett asked puzzled.

"Yes....you" Mari said.

"Well if I did teach you then I now regret it....a lot." Rivett said.

Dyana then realised what Mari's rude gesture had meant. She broke into a fit of laughter.

"What's so funny?" Mari said.

"Think about it Mari...that gesture you showed Rivett....it means something" Dyana said with another laugh.

Mari thought for a moment and then she too burst into laughter.

Rivett just sighed and rolled his eyes. Girls could be soooooo annoying.

I like this chapter best. I love the part when Mari says "Whaaa?" after Dyana admits she thinks Rivett is cute....I could just see the look on her face in my mind and it was priceless!

*nod, nod, nod, nod* I think that a webcomic of this would be cool, don't you think?

I would say that's a great idea Mari! could be a breakthrough in Dragon Booster fandom cause I haven't seen alot of webcomics of Dragon Booster! :dance: TOTALLY DO IT! WHOOO! :) :D

I'll.... I'll try, I guess. I could do stick figures with heads from screens for a rough draft........ :unsure:

I've never done a webcomic, but I'd sure as heck do this!! Or, rather, I'd try to do it! Who knows, it might help my drawing or graphics editing skills!! :D :plot:

Hey people. I haven't done much with this fic in a very long time so I was thinking of adding another chapter!! Isn't that great? However I am kind of stuck as to what to do next.....could I have some more IDEAS please??

Chapter Five

After at least 3 months of living with the Mechanists, Dyana was starting to get very bored. She by now knew all the dragons and their riders by heart. Also there wasn't very much to do at the Compound anyways and she had no dragon so she could not race.

But she was not there to race....at least not at this point in time...right now she was gathering information although for whom exactly had yet to be found.

She had her nose buried in several books about Gray Draconium and the Gray Bone Dragons. She wanted to know everything she possibly could on these subjects. She busily took notes in a PalmPad which was like a PalmPilot.

At that moment she heard a knock on the door of her room.

"Come in" she said.

The person who walked in surprised her. It was Rivett. He couldn't help laughing as he watched her take notes.

"Why all the studying hmm?" he asked.

"I just want to learn some stuff...thats all" Dyana said.

"Oh really? Well why don't I help you learn first-hand huh? Follow me!" Rivett said. He beckoned for her to follow him. She did.

Rivett led her through the compound and down several corridors until they came to a stop at a room with a thick steel door.

"What is in there?" Dyana asked.

"Behind this door are things that the Mechanists have been working on for several years...things that are secret and were once very dangerous to humans and dragons alike...many of these things just happen to be some of my old Academy experiments.....I must ask you this: Will you promise not to tell anyone about what you see in this room? Can you promise me that?" Rivett said.

"I promise" Dyana replied.

"Good" Rivett said. He then pushed the door and it slid open with a loud grating sound.

When the pair stepped into the room, Dyana gazed at everything around her in surprise. On one long table were rows of books along with pieces of Gray Gear. On another table was a tablet with strange carvings upon it that she could not decipher. And on the shelves that ran along the back wall of the room were row upon row of ancient scrolls that probably held several well kept secrets of the Mechanist Crew and the Gray dragons.

"Well...what do you think?" Rivett said.

"I like the stuff...it all looks so interesting" Dyana said.

Rivett walked over to one of the tables and picked up a special item. It was large and round and seemed to shine as if it were molded from quicksilver.

"Do you know what this is?" Rivett said.

Dyana looked at it for a long while and then said "No".

"This is the biggest kept secret of the Mechanists. This is a Gray Bone Dragon egg" Rivett said.

"An egg?" Dyana said. "That is an egg? Its huge!"

"Yes it is an egg. It is the last Gray Bone Dragon Egg in the world. We, the Mechanists have been entrusted with this special egg for it will hatch soon and the dragon within will be the first ever pure Gray Bone dragon to hatch in over 3000 years" Rivett said. He gently held the egg and gazed at it as if it were his firstborn. "And I will be there to see it hatch....mark my words"

Dyana nodded in understanding and she too could not help but gaze upon the glistening egg in Rivett's arms.

"When will it hatch?" she asked.

"That is something I do not know...." Rivett said. "I came to the Crew long after the Egg had been placed here. I only learned about it through Machina and a dragon priest by the name of Tannis the Wise"

"Oh" Dyana said.

Rivett then carefully set the egg back upon the table where it had been resting.

"Let's go" he said.

Dyana followed him out of the room and helped Rivett shut the door. It closed with a *thump* sound.

Now Dyana had some great information that she could pass on. A dragon egg! she thought. This will be good...very good.

Hi folks! It has been ages since I last posted here! Forgive me....

Anyway....I think I can update the fic now since I have been taking an uber long hiatus from it.....

Chapter Six

Dyana was bubbling with excitement. A dragon egg! Here! she thought. If only there was a way to get it without Rivett noticing....

Dyana had recently come up with a most interesting plan. The plan was to take the dragon egg, wait until it hatched and then raise the dragon as her own. Once it grew up however she would take it to someone. Someone who could actually make use of it. But getting the egg would be difficult and getting out of the compound...nearly impossible. Nearly.

She had watched Rivett enter the code to get into the secret room where the egg was stored many times. Eventually she had memorized the entire code and could enter it faster than he ever could thanks to practicing on a keypad she had swiped from Mari's room.

She knew that the room was loaded with booby-traps. She had seen a fair few of them the first time she went in. Laser grids, motion sensors, pressure pads, the like. It was a tight system.

But before she could go and get the egg she needed to do some research on Gray Bone Dragons. The only place that would have substantial knowledge of the beasts would have to be the Dragon City Library. That place was immense and had several books on dragons.

She went out of her room and into the main room. Rivett, Mari and Machina were there. Rivett was lounging on a sofa, Mari was munching on some breakfast, and Machina was entering something or other into her laptop.

"Hey guys" she said.

"Hey" Rivett said. He gave her a cheery wave.

"Hi" Mari said.

Machina did not acknowledge her since her nose was buried in whatever she was writing.

"Is there any way someone could take me to the Library?" she asked.

"The library?" Mari said. "Why would you want to go there?"

Oh crap....I gotta make up something... Dyana thought quickly and then said:

"I wanted to just read up on racing stuff...cause' I'm interested in it...yeah"

"Fair enough" Mari said. "You can borrow my dragon Twylyt. He's in the third stall on the right...why don't I help you get him ready?"

"Okay" Dyana responded.

Dyana was on her way to the Libary. This was her first time riding a dragon without assistance. She was slightly nervous and a little scared.

Twylyt sensed her feelings and became slightly nervous as well.

"Woah!" Dyana exclaimed. Suddenly Twylyt lurched far to the right.

"What was that about?" she yelled.

Twylyt growled in response. He then lurched to the left. Something or other was bugging him.

"Stop it!" she yelled at the dragon tapping him sharply with her magstaff.

That made Twylyt roar and rear up. And a Gray Bone Dragon rearing up is a sight to see.

"AAAAAAAH!" Poor Dyana screamed with fright and hung on for dear life. In an attempt to calm him she activated the Control Gear. This put Twylyt completely under her control.

"Calm down you overgrown lizard!" she grumbled. He planted his feet on the ground with an earthshaking thud and proceeded to walk normally.

"Good boy" she murmured.

Once she got to the library she magged off of Twylyt and led him to a waiting area where he would be restrained until she came back to get him.

Dyana browsed through hundreds of scrolls, books, and other information she had gleaned on Gray Bone Dragons.

One scroll described their life cycle, another described the adventures of a warrior who had a Gray Bone Dragon companion. The warrior bore a strange resemblance to Rivett.

After reading everything she could she decided to bring a few small scrolls and two books back to the Compound.

She took them to the checkout desk and the librarian scanned her ID Card and confirmed that the books were to be hers for a month.

Now that I have some information....I can begin Phase I of my plan... Dyana thought. As she was thinking this a dark smile crept across her face.

Just the way that's written, it seems to imply that MARI'S room is loaded with booby-traps. I actually laughed in real life. Then I reread it, because I doubted Mari would be allowed pressure pads by Rivett and realized that you meant the EGG ROOM. XD

But very nice chapter!! WRITE MORE OR I SHALL HUNT YOU DOWN IN YOUR HOME AND DUCT-TAPE YOU TO YOUR COMPUTER AND FORCE YOU TO WRITE MORE UNDER PAIN OF WATERGUN!!!!!

Chapter Seven

This was the night. The night Dyana would steal the dragon egg. She had gone through much pain and near insanity to bring herself to this point.

Once she decided she was actually going to take the egg, she found someone who would be more than happy to take it. A someone in the form of...Word Paynn.

Word had heard tell of her finding of this egg and was practically ecstatic. He knew he could use the egg as a way of wreaking revenge against the Mechanists for defeating him so horribly before and ridding him of his powerful Gray Bone Wraiths (a/n: See Mechanist I for info on those).

She had come to visit him a couple of times during the late hours of the night when her adoptive Crew was asleep.

This was one such visit.

"So where is the Egg?" Word asked.

"I don't have it yet!" Dyana protested. "I told you I can only work so fast!"

"Well then work faster you impudent girl!" Word yelled back.

"Fine!" Dyana replied. She was about to storm out of the Paynn compound in a huff when Moordryd Paynn wandered in.

"Well if it isn't Dyana" he muttered.

"Moordryd" Dyana said with a glare. She had easily gotten to know Moordryd and thought he was something of a dragon-sized jerk.

Then an idea burst into her brain. An intense idea.

"Moordryd wait!" she said. Moordryd turned to her.

"Do you think you can help me with a little something?" she asked sweetly.

"Like what?" Moordryd replied raising an eyebrow.

"Stealing a Gray Bone Dragon Egg perhaps?" Dyana grinned.

"What!?" Moordryd exclaimed. "A Gray Bone Dragon Egg?"

"Yes A Gray Bone Dragon Egg you twit!" Dyana sighed. "It's stored in the Mechanist compound but I have absolutely no way of getting it without help!"

"I'm in!" Moordryd readily agreed. "But what's in it for me?"

"All the Gray gear the Mechanists have to offer...as well as the dragon that hatches from this egg" Dyana said.

Moodryd smiled back. That was one heck of an offer.

It's coming along, DB500!! I can't wait for the next chapter!!! ^_^

Good stuff....funny story! I've gotta go back and read your Mechanist 1 story yet. :D
