Title: Birthday Comp Poll: Misc
LightningFlash - April 30, 2006 12:54 AM (GMT)
Don't forget to vote in the Art category!
Please don't vote for your own entry.

I'm not sure people realize they're supposed to vote in both of these polls. At the moment, 22 total votes have been cast in the "Birthday Comp Poll: Art" thread but only 9 total votes have been cast for this one.
Remember, each member here gets to vote in both polls so we can choose the best entry in each category. There will then be a second poll to determine the overall winner later.
So if you haven't voted in this category yet, please do so. Similarly, if you voted here but not in the other, then be sure to vote that one as well.

I can't see the second entry. Bummer. It looked good.

Hmm, I'm not sure why some people are unable to view the QuickTime movie. I checked it on six different computers myself and the problems didn't show up. It's difficult to diagnose it if I can't see what's happening.
The two general problems would be that first, your version of QuickTime may be out of date. The clip requires version 7. So if you don't have version 7, then you can update it from
quicktime.apple.com. Note you may need to restart your browser after this for it to recognize it.
The second issue may just be the download time if you're on dial-up. The movie is 4.4MB, so it will take a little while (perhaps 10 minutes) to get it all loaded. If the QuickTime player loads correctly, then you should see the progress bar moving on the player. If you get that far, then just wait for it to finish downloading the clip.
Hope this helps a little.

I've found that playing the movie in the browser doesn't work for me so instead I opened up quick time and opened the URL in the player itself. This seems to work for me, maybe it will work for others as well?

The Furox, totally. So Silver Dragon. I finally got to see the Furox's, because the school has Flash. So i just watched it there. Was Silver Dragons just that picture of the Penn Crew symbol? Because i couldn't watch it at school, since it was on a PB. Those are blocked here. Congrats Furox, on such a drac movie!

Oh, good. I'm glad you got it to work. Yes, the browser plug-in could indeed be an issue for some people. If others want to try this and play the movie directly, start the QuickTime application, then choose "Open URL" from the File menu. Then copy and paste in this URL:

No, that's just the last image. There's more to SilverDragon's entry than that (it's around 30 seconds long). If it's not playing, then you probably don't have the correct version (or maybe no version) of the Flash player. You can get it from
Adobe Downloads and then click where it says to download the Macromedia® Flash® Player 8. You may have to restart your browser afterwards.

How exciting! We seem to be caught in a tie at the moment!
Looks like we need a few people to cast the tie-breaking votes. :)
Just think, you could decide the outcome!
