Title: Cain
Thrakos - April 23, 2006 01:11 AM (GMT)
I'm not sure if its just me but Cain reminds me of Jack Nicholson.
What do you guys think?
phsycopathicdragon - April 23, 2006 01:26 AM (GMT)
I don't know who Jack Nicholson is, but when I first saw the show I thought that he was Connor
Kereea - April 23, 2006 01:57 AM (GMT)
I think Cain is cool, but like Kitt, Parm and Lance, his part is getting too small!
MinervaRahn - April 23, 2006 02:30 AM (GMT)
Cain doesn't exactly pop up as Jack Nicholson ( nothing did actually) but I can understand what you mean because of his sarcastic attitude, it reminds you a little bit of him cause that how he acted in the movies he has been in :)

I think there might a little Nicholson in the way Cain delivers his lines. Though I think Cain is more of a coward inside than any of the characters that Nicholson has played. :)

Well, I can tell you all this much. The person who does the voice of Cain (Scott McNiel) also, does the voice of Tann on KONG and the voice of Wolverine on X-Men Evolution. He's 1 of my favorite voice over actors. Right next to Tom Kenny (SpongeBob).
Mari - April 23, 2006 11:13 PM (GMT)
I think Cain is a little abused. Look at 'The Changlings'. Moordryd treats poooooor Cain, well, like poo. :( <_<
Overall, I think Cain does a great 'outside I'm an evil lackey', but we all know that inside he's, well, sorta nice. What man could talk about how to make cookies, be afraid of yellow-bellied newts and have the sense to not want to try out some psycho nero gear? :P
IbanezJFS - April 23, 2006 11:28 PM (GMT)
I actually think he's a bit of a mommas boy.

I agree, Cain is probably a nice guy if he hadn't fall in with the wrong crowd.

I knew it!! I was trying to figure out "where did I hear that voice before?" and when you said that it just clicked!
man what an uber sexy voice he has....gaaaaaah =D~~~~~~~~~~
Cain is one of my fav secondary characters in the show cause well..I know he is a coward, but hopefully he will have his own episode (kinda of like how his day goes in his view) to better explain of his personality and how he joined the Dragon Eye crew...or something like that =)
P.S I saw Tom Kenny at the Comic-con last year, they were talking about the new animated batman movie, "Batman vs Dracula" so talking about the art concept, characters, the voice actors etc. He was the voice of Penguin in the movie :D
PAKADAY - April 25, 2006 04:03 AM (GMT)
For you Cain lovers, or haters, there will be an upcoming episode featuring the snide, sarcastic syncophant called "Cains Mutiny". The title says it all.

Are you making this up? Or do you have a mole inside Nerd Corps? I could easily get one in myself, but I don't see how a small, partially blind mammal can get me information of the new episodes.
Oooh, I can see exactly why he'd want to mutiny. ;)
hyperpsychomaniac - April 25, 2006 11:55 AM (GMT)
Ah, now I would like to see what would push Cain to that. Moordryd would really have to treat him bad (more than he does at the moment, they seem to be somewhat good friends) to get him to mutiny.
The Furox - April 25, 2006 05:06 PM (GMT)
Yeah, it will be interesting to see Cain summon the courage to defy Moordryd. I've only seen through "Return of Drakkus, part 2", but it looks like Moordryd is being lead down a path by Armeggaddon that few other people (if any) will want to follow. I imagine something will happen there that will convince Cain oppose Moordryd. The mutiny may then later help Moordryd realize he's on the wrong path. Looks like Moordryd has a got a lot to go though yet. :)
MinervaRahn - April 25, 2006 06:54 PM (GMT)
You haven't seen the other three episodes Furox? the Changelings was a good episode, had alot of some 'Cain in the spotlight' moments but yea I had a feeling pretty soon he would call "mutiny" on Moordryd for being the "grunt" and doing all the "grunt work"  or...possibly he got hit on the head really hard and got amnesia! thus the whole "mutiny" thing ^^; well there could be other reasons...so we should just throw out some "guesses" to what the episode will be about! hehe :P

Perhaps another possiblity for Cain starting a mutiny might be that he sees Moordryd changing due to Armageddon's influence (I'm not sure how much Armaggeddon is going to affect him, as I've only seen up to RoDpt2, but I think even in that ep Cain was thinking Moordryd was acting a little strange). This could either be because Moordryd is now being mean to him, and he's getting ticked off, or, he realises Moordryd's dragging the crew downhill. Well, that's what I'd like to think... whether it actually gets that deep in the show, but I've gotten the impression that Cain and Moordryd are relatively good friends. I'll at least hope that Moordryd does something that would really tick off Cain. :D

Exactly the kind of circumstances I was thinking of. Moordryd already seems to be changing a bit due to Armeggaddon. He seems to be expressing a much greater lust for power than he did in the past (where he was more focused on trying to please his father). I'm not sure what Moordryd's going to do, but it looks like he'll try to drag the crew in some direction that Cain will realize is a really bad idea, like trying to use his crew for cannon fodder in order to advance Armeggaddon's goals. It's not difficult to imagine Armeggaddon convincing Moordryd that his crew is expendable if it results in Moordryd getting more power.

Yeah, I don't know if it will get that deep or not either, but it is true that Cain appears to be pretty loyal to Moordryd which implies they're friends at some level. Them having a falling out would not be an uncommon story line for a show to pursue.
In any event, I think the most likely scenario would be having Moordryd be the one that precipitates the circumstances that then leads Cain to realize he has no choice but to turn against Moordryd to save himself and the crew. I think that would be more likely than Cain just betraying Moordryd for no reason other than his own selfish desires (especially since Cain hasn't expressed any such desires so far).
It will be fun to see how this develops.

Ya if you hear something enough you get influenced by it. That’s why Hitler
got so far, he said things enough times and people believed it was true. Also When your growing up, you might not be like your parents, but as you grow you become more like them. Word wants power, so maybe Moordrd is picking up on this trait.Plus Moordrd is hitting that teenage rebellion type stage, and sometimes young people can be influenced to do something more easily than when older.
It would be nice to see Cain forget his fear and do something for good. To have a character that came from the bad side and turn to the good would be excellent. Maybe Cain would be the next addition to the pen crew? That may be pushing it though but maybe he could be the black draconium that helps in preventing the dragon human war, and be the fifth draconium colour of balance? :eep:
If this does become an episode, it would do good for the story, might even bring the story closer to an end.

I think that Cain will try to do something to save Moodrys when he realizes that he's under Argameddon'¡s influence
