Title: In the Spirit of Cartoon loving!
Description: Share your MUST see cartoons with us!

Natalilly - June 17, 2005 08:47 PM (GMT)
Love to hear what OTHER toons your all into, on a formal basis, I've heard some hinting, but I want to hear MORE, Damnit!
I have some recommendations for you all....

REGULAR VIEWING:

DARKWING DUCK

An ollld Disney series. It's not good at all, honestly, but hunt down episodes with a character called "negaduck" it's worth the effort. He's the singularly most psychotic, violent and totally sadisticly insane character I've ever seen Disney do....
FAVOURITE CHARACTERS: Negaduck (duck dude in signature) and the Liquidator

DARIA:

First few series only. Later on she gets issues and a boyfriend and all the things her NOT having made her worth watching.
A cynical teenager who hates fashion and those around her deals with her super popular sister and overbearing parents with her best friend Jane, the almost equally cynical artist.
FAVOURITE CHARACTERS: Jane and Trent

RIPPING FRIENDS:

A cartoon about MEN being MANLY. A superhero tacke off with testosterone pumped heroes bashing people about. Probably rathe run PC, too...
FAVOURITE CHARACTERS: Rip and Chunk

REN AND STIMPY:

Can't beat a classic, but don't even bother with anything beyond series one, it's all crap after they kicked the writer/creator/director out....
FAVOURITE CHARACTERS: Mr. Horse and George Liquor.

ANIME

YU GI OH!

Yes, it has a bad rap, and YES, I though it was the world's most eeeevil show when I was first made to watch it, but I strongly reccomend trying the first series out. and ignore nnoying friendship goop the dubbers put it, I want to shoot them in the head for that!
FAVE CHARACTERS: Pegasus (silver haired guy in my Fandom Sig) and Mai.

DECENDANTS OF DAKNESS:
(YAMI NO MATSUEI)

NOT FOR THE KIDDIES! Lorts of blood, violence, adult themes, and one very disturbing doctor with an erotic fixation for the main hero. Yes, the doctor is male as well. About the gaurdians of Death, who bring back lost souls. Tsuzuki has enormous power, but is a bit of an idiot, and he's partnered with Hisoka, a young guy woith attitude issues- and bad memories of Dr. muraki, who's a sociopath. Disturbing, but addictive. So far only four episodes made, but the manga's still going, soi I hope to see more- that and the episodes areabout two hours long each.
FAVE CHARACTERS: Watari (shiny blonde in sig) and Dr. Muraki.

SAMURAI PIZZA CATS:

Old schoola dn probably pretty hard to get now, but it was a take off of Ninja turtles. Unfortunately I remember it from a kid's Point of view and it was good when I was little... Three superhero anthro cats fight it out weekly with a crossdressing robotic mouse, but by day they work in a pizza parlour.
FAVOURITE CHARACTERS: Guido (Cat dude in sig) and Francine

HARD TO FIND

DRAWN TOGETHER

i strongly suggest the older and less easily shocked memebers of the board (Arthas_gurl- You in perticular, you seem quite sensitive) to see if they can get ahold of a this cartoony...
It's on MTV late on Saturday nights in England ATM, and it's an animated 'version' of Big Brother, with no elimination. There's a group of cartoon sterotypes- the ten black sassy singer (Josie and the pussycats), the princess that sings Disney esque songs (Pick a Disney Princess) , The anime thing that speaks gibberish (Picachu), the 30's sex symbol who's rather overweight (Betty Boop), The Web animation that does digusting things (browse the net a little, they're easy to find), The superhero (superman) The annoying stupid character (Spounge Bob) and The obviously gay video game character (old School Legend of Zelda cartoons... remember those?)
They live in this one house and it's one othe funniest things I've seen.
It's somethign you can watch over and over becasue the jokes and referances are thick and fast.
Not for the youngies, there are princess songs about getting french kissed by another girl, not very effectively blurred out genitalia and Lots of things I was absolutely AMAZED got into a cartoon.
FAVOURITE CHARACTERS: Xander and Foxxxy Love

AAARGH! IT'S THE MR. HELL SHOW

Another goodie is damn hard to find. There are only 13 episodes.
Modernize Monty Python and this is what you get. Ridiculous humour and some recurring characters, Mr. Hell himself- Surge the Homicidal Seal pup, Golden Baby and Josh. Totally unexpected humour, and it's produced by a handful of people and it LOOKS like it's done with Flash on a computer, of all things, but it's really REALLY worth seeing. Again, not for the young and/or sensitive amoung you. Another great bit of Canadian cartooning.
FAVOURITE CHARACTERS: Josh and Mr. Hell

WEB TOONS

ILL WILL PRESS

An online cartoon series, that has it's moment, but also tends to flop. About a squirril named Foamy who rants alot, and his owner, a goth chick, Germaine. Go to Foamy
yet another M rated one

BADGERS AND MAGICAL TREVOR

This is just odd... Badgers! It made me laugh hysterically, though. KID SAFE! I suggest following the link and seeing his other cartoons, especially Magical trevor, Breadfish (just for the song) The worlds most annoying song and rather close to the beginning is somethign about cheese which is also side splitting.

LOBSTER MAGNET

Just watch it. Be awed with the weirdness of the things I find, and laugh... Kid safe... well, mature themes in places.

POISONING PIDGEONS IN THE PARK

Not nearly as horrible as it sounds. And uh, yeah, I made it, but it's funny! It's safe for the kids. No really, it is!
Pidgeons!
While you're at it, check this out. it's short and cute... Kitty!

ShadowCat - June 18, 2005 05:28 AM (GMT)
I've seen Darkwing Duck and Yu-Gi-Oh!, but I haven't heard of the others.

LightningFlash - June 18, 2005 10:35 AM (GMT)
Oooh, Daria. Trent love! :D

The Furox - June 20, 2005 12:45 AM (GMT)
Funny you should mention Negaduck. I've run into a number of people that like that character. He seems to have quite a lot of appeal. Darkwing Duck is one of the many series produced by Tad Stones at Disney TV Animation. For anyone else who's a credit watcher like me, he also created Rescue Rangers, produced both of the Aladdin direct video sequels, the first Lion King sequel (Simba's Pride), the Buzz Lightyear direct video movie, and both the Aladdin and Buzz Lightyear TV series. (Busy guy!) I've actually met him on a couple of occasions. Back in the early 90's before these types of message boards existed, we used email mailing lists to talk about shows we watched and he actually participated in one I was on that focused on the Disney TV shows of the time. This was when Darkwing Duck was in production. He was nice enough to arrange a meeting with those of us who were in Los Angeles once to attend an animation convention. We even had a few follow-up meetings afterwards. It was rather bold of him to meet with random people off the internet but we had all been discussing the shows for over a year by then and he had seen that our comments were rational enough that we couldn't be too dangerous. :) Anyway, it was nice to find that you could actually meet people through the internet like that.

Let's see, my favorite animated shows...

Gargoyles - I think this Disney produced series has to go at the top of my own list. Totally unDisney-like action/drama series. Nothing cute and cuddly about it and almost no comic relief. The only Western made animated series I've ever seen where a character gets shot with a gun and bleeds on screen. This one was produced by Greg Weissman and he had been developing the concept for years prior to the beginning of production and it really shows. Solid stories, a continuing storyline with a conclusion in the last multi-part episode and virtually no plot holes or inconsistencies throughout. Still airs on Toon Disney and the first season is now out on DVD.

Swat Kats - an action/adventure series featuring anthropomorphic cat characters. It's a Batman-like secret identity crime fighter type thing, except they have a jet fighter instead of the Batmobile and the villains are much more dangerous. Heavy anime influence in the visual style. Lots of violence and stuff blowing up. A few "red shirt" incidental characters actually get killed. Great series though short lived. Not presently airing and no video release unfortunately.

Inuyasha - a long running anime adventure/drama series with a hundred and some odd episodes and like 5 movies. I'm told by other fans that this is like in the top 5 series among anime fans. Airs on Cartoon Network late at night. Not for little kids.

COMEDIES

There are more in this category. I guess people outside of Japan tend to accept funny cartoons more than the serious ones so I think more of them get made.

Futurama - made by the creator of the Simpsons. I always thought this was better and funnier than the Simpsons but it didn't last as long. Airs on Cartoon Network and the whole series is on DVD.

Family Guy - a Simpsons-like family sitcom type thing, but the humor is much sharper and ventures into normally taboo areas. The original run of the series ended about two years ago, but the DVD sales were so strong that they brought it back and new episodes are now airing on Fox. Re-runs of the older episodes are on Cartoon Network.

South Park - I think everyone knows about this one, so I don't think I need say more. Airs on Comedy Central.

Duckman - even more daring than anything in South Park. This outrageous series was made in the mid-90's. Be warned that no one under 17 (give or take) should watch this one. Presently airing on Comedy Central.

Duel Masters - I've mentioned this already. Anyone who likes scripts with lots of pop culture references and lots of jokes poking fun at the silliness of the show itself would like this. Airs on Cartoon Network.

Drawn Together - as Natallily mentioned, this is another outrageous comedy that mimics a reality show type thing. Not sure why it didn't last longer. Presently airs sporadically on Comedy Central. Definitely not for anyone under 17 or anyone easily offended.

Those are the main ones that come to my mind. If I think of any more, I'll post them.

LightningFlash - June 20, 2005 12:53 AM (GMT)
I have access to the joys of digital TV for a while, so I'll check out what I can. :)

The Furox - June 23, 2005 06:34 PM (GMT)
Two more came to mind that are worth mentioning:

Batman Beyond - A sci-fi action/adventure Batman show. This one takes place in the future. Bruce Wayne is an old man, too old to fight crime anymore, so he recruits a teenager to be the new Batman and mentors him. In this story line, Bruce Wayne had finally captured all the old Batman villains long ago, so none of them are around anymore. So all the villains in this series are new and each typically only appears in one episode. This keeps things fresh since each story is new and different. Since it takes place in the future, there's lots of high technology and all the stories are sci-fi oriented. Lots of action and violence without any goofiness. People get hurt and incidental characters some times get killed. The series was popular enough that they made a direct to video movie called "The Return of the Joker" which is excellent. This movie plus a few of the episodes are out on DVD. Re-runs on Cartoon Network once in a while but not presently airing in the US as far as I know.

Animaniacs - A fresh and funny comedy show from the mid-90's. Warner Brothers took the vaudeville and slap stick comedy style and updated it for the present day with pop culture references. Very unique for its time, though the pop culture references may seem dated by now. I still think it's fun to watch. Not presently airing as far as I know. No DVDs.

The Furox - July 14, 2005 09:45 PM (GMT)
Ghost in the Shell - A serious sci-fi action/adventure anime series that takes place in the future. I heard about this one some time ago, but didn't have time to watch until recently. Very nicely done, with artwork on the high end of anime. The show has a great look to it. It's hand drawn with some CGI elements, mostly used for the vehicles. It's a continuing story line where each episode picks up exactly where the last one left off. Because of this, the story gets really involved, which is something I love. The level of carnage and violence is pretty high, so this definitely isn't for little kids (I'd say 15 and up). Unluckily for me, I started watching just as the present season was wrapping up it's run and now it's not airing at the moment. It was airing late at night on the Adult Swim segment on Cartoon Network. Hopefully, they'll start re-runs or airing another season soon.

Daigerus - July 15, 2005 12:21 AM (GMT)
I've heard most of these shows, Furox, and I think it's great some animations get some appreciation of having great plotlines, memorable characters, or just plain entertaining. ^_^ I don't watch much of TV nowadays, save Dragon Booster, but there's one show that I particularly like very much (and hoping it gets popular here in the US, even though only five episodes are dubbed):

Legendz: Tales of the Dragon Kings

This recent anime falls under a category similar of Digimon and Pokemon, on the count that it uses cool-looking monsters, goofily-drawn kids, and basically high-octave, action-packed battles. But though this show seems made for younger children (meaning characters can come out of a battle heavily bruised, but not bleeding), its plotline gradually grows from slapstick comedy and action to a dark epic drama of sorts.

I like it for the way that a few episodes focus more on the characters than the plot itself and that in later episodes, just when you think you know everything about the Legendz (who are the cool-looking monsters), they throw something completely unexpected yet still make perfect sense, all the while fleshing out the characters and revealing parts of the plot at a time, making the overall series rather deep and poignant. One of my favorite characters is this blonde woman, who is overall obsessed about Legendz and is one of the few characters that change clothes accordingly to her role, and boy, she switches roles more often than she does with clothes (and apparently she wears them in layers beyond reasons. :D )

It's not airing in US, but its manga (comic) version has been out in a lot of bookstores, as far as I've heard, though it's been heavily edited so that the kids look more cooler than the ones in anime for the targeted teen audience.

The Furox - July 27, 2005 07:04 PM (GMT)
Thanks for pointer on Legendz. Sounds interesting. I programmed my Tivo to pick it up should it ever start airing here.

Case Closed - an anime murder mystery series. Each episode is a separate murder mystery story (there are also a few two part episodes) where the murder naturally occurs near beginning of act 1 and the main characters look for clues and solve the mystery by the end. Good variety of stories and it doesn't get repetitious at all. Typical limited motion anime, but otherwise the art work is decent enough and they did a good job with the translation and voice acting. Be aware they don't mind showing dead bodies with graphic bullet and stab wounds and contorted facial expressions, so this is not for people who don't like the sight of blood. It's not a really powerful series, but it's not bad if you're in the mood for a "whodunit" story. It's fun and I like to watch an episode every now and then for variety. Presently airing on Cartoon Network.

Wow, someone else who's seen Swat Kats! That's pretty rare. I only know a few other people who've seen it. It was a really good series, wasn't it. Unfortunately, Hanna Barbera didn't know what to do with it since they're not used to handling anime inspired action adventure shows. Because of this, they seemed to be afraid to air it when people would actually see it and instead aired it here at 6:00 am on Sunday mornings if you can believe that. Naturally, hardly anyone watched or knew it existed. I only found out about it by word of mouth through some other animation fans I know. Such a shame. The show only lasted a season and a half. I think it would do much better if it was airing today. I wish they'd put the series out on DVD if nothing else.

Batman Beyond is another favorite of mine. Have you seen the "Return of the Joker" direct video movie they put out? If not, pick up the DVD. It's excellent.

Gargoyles is my all time favorite animated series. I even went to the annual fan convention once when it was being held in Los Angeles. Got to meet the producer, the voice actors and some of the writers. Fun! The first season of the show is now out on DVD. It even has commentary by the creator/producer.

Thundercats was kind of fun, too (even though it was geared to sell the toys). The first season was just released on DVD if you hadn't already heard.

COPS is one I haven't seen. Given there's some overlap in our list of favorites, I'll have to try and catch it some time.

Great list!

Yeah, it was. :) I've actually watched a great majority of that show a long way back, when I was around 7 or 8 years old and living in a different country at the time. I never really thought that anime inspired the great action scenes. Really liked that one episode where they get sent back in medieval times and rescue this princess who looks too much like their modern reporter helper from this necromancer villain. Good times go too fast, though.

Strange how you mentioned how Hanna Barbera's reluctance, since I watched that show in the Philippines on a Cartoon Network channel and Swat Kats was shown in regular watching hours.

Yeah, the same thing happened here. It originally aired on TBS at 6am, then about a year after it was cancelled, it went into re-runs for a bit on Cartoon Network at a more reasonable hour. However, the show had already been cancelled at that point, so it was too late to build an audience. More recently, I heard it ran on Boomerang (Cartoon Network's sister channel). I have all the episodes on tape, but I'm still hoping for DVDs some day.

The Furox - September 30, 2005 11:12 PM (GMT)
Here are two more all CGI series people may be interested in:

Father of the Pride

This was a fairly short lived series made by Dreamworks. It's basically a sitcom that looks at the lives of the animals that performed in Siegfried and Roy's magic show in Las Vegas. CG quality on the show was very high for TV animation. It had basically the same overall look as the Shrek movies, just less detail and more limited animation. Still, it was the highest quality CGI made for TV I've seen yet.

Story-wise it was pretty good. The only thing is that it needed to be funnier and have a sharper wit. The other problem the series faced was that Roy was mauled by the tiger shortly before the series premiered, and even though Siegfried and Roy were fully behind the show and had given their permission for their likenesses to be used in the series and said they wanted the series to go on even after the mauling, it pretty much threw a damper on the whole show.

The whole series has been released on DVD along with 3 episodes that never aired, all at a pretty cheap price. Worth seeing if you're into CG animated shows.

Tripping the Rift

This is a new CGI series that just recently started showing on the Sci-Fi channel. It's a comedy about a motley space ship crew that pokes fun at just about every space and sci-fi movie ever made. For example, the main nemesis in the show is an evil clown named Darth Bobo who's intent on getting his own Death Orb. There are lots of Star Trek references and gags as well (and Lost in Space, 2001, and so on), and they just did a parody of the movie "Carrie" this week. CG quality is lower than "Father of the Pride" and it looks more like a high end video game. The focus is clearly on the jokes, not stunning CGI. The CGI is good enough for what the series is though.

I'm not sure how successful this series will be though. Like the show "Drawn Together," the comedy is for mature audiences only and they rely a lot on the shock value of what they're daring to have the characters say and do. I think they're going to have to sharpen the wit in the jokes since the shock value will eventually wear off.

This series is much raunchier than "South Park," so it's not for anyone under 17 or anyone easily offended.

Jouroo - October 1, 2005 12:06 AM (GMT)
I have to say that one anime I simply -loved- was Wolf's Rain, I also appreciate Inuyasha, and liked the manga for Fullmetal alchemist, though I'm still in the process of downloading the shows and watching them. (yes I do illegal things like download  )

But anyway, Wolf's Rain, from what I've gathered, was an anime that ran for about 27-29 episodes (can't remember <_< ), and had 3 more extended episodes that I'm pretty sure never really aired on TV, though I know Cartoon Network was airing the show last winter. The basic plot is a futuristic setting in which wolves are supposedly extinct, though they've simply learned to disguise themselves as humans. It follows the journey of 4-5 wolves searching for a paradise alluded to in legends. An absolutely wonderful show, neat animation, though sometimes the way they drew the wolves irked me, it was a pretty realistic style.

Other shows I like are:

Avatar: the Last Airbender, a new series on Nickelodeon that looks pretty much like anime
Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends
Whatevers on TV at a given time...

I would also love to try out Cowboy Bebop once I finish with one of the shows that I am currently downloading.

The Furox - October 1, 2005 02:54 AM (GMT)
Wolf's Rain sounds pretty good. I hadn't heard of that one before, so thanks for mentioning it. I did a quick check and it's out on DVD, and both Blockbuster and Netflix have it available for rental.

I've watched a few episodes of Full Metal Alchemist (which is presently showing on Cartoon Network). I like the overall story line, the characters and the animation. The only thing that holds it back a bit for me is that the pacing is rather slow (for my tastes at least). I prefer series like Inuyasha and Ghost in the Shell where things move along pretty rapidly.

That's true. They make you start in the middle of it all, then go chronologically from the beginning, which is slow, then abruptly go back to where the middle left off, but once there it gets pretty hectic to make up for the slow pacing in the first half. ;)

Speaking of anime, I just read that FUNimation is launching their own TV network here to be called the FUNimation Channel. It will be all anime 24 hours a day and is supposed to be available on the major cable and satellite systems as a basic service. They say they'll be showing stuff from their existing library of shows, plus bringing over more of the top anime shows that haven't yet been seen in the US. Hopefully, this will also mean some the shows we've mentioned above will get re-run again. That'd be fun. Plus if Cartoon Network continues showing the block of anime they're presently airing, then there will be a good selection of anime to choose from overall.

Their launch date is not specified and is still clearly at least weeks away. Their website will be www.funimationchannel.com when it starts up. (It's a blank page for now that just says "coming soon".)

Drawn Together is coming back!

I just saw in the program guide that this wild, but short-lived, cartoon is coming back. They only made 7 episodes and then stopped, but apparently there was enough viewer demand for more. It starts up again on Comedy Central on October 19. Scroll back towards the beginning of this thread to see what Natalilly and I had to say about it.

LightningFlash - October 12, 2005 02:10 AM (GMT)
That's airing here at the moment, actually.

Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex.

Think of a futuristic Anime CSI and you've about got it. This is a very intelligent, beautifully animated series, and you don't need to watch the movies to understand it. (I believe Innocence was set after the series anyway, although I'm not sure.)

For any Aussies here, SBS is airing beautiful Anime movies every Wednesday night. Naussica of the Valley of the Winds is on tonight, Kiki's Delivery Service next week, and Spirited Away the week after that. :)

The Furox - October 13, 2005 05:10 PM (GMT)
Oh yeah, Ghost in the Shell is a great series! I only caught the last few episodes when it aired here a few months ago, but I just saw that it's starting up again. It begins on October 24 on Cartoon Network. I presume they're going to re-run the whole thing from the beginning, but I can't tell just yet.

Well, DB is prety much the only cartoon I watch, but I have a few funny online shows. :P

ONLINE:

Bonus Stages

Episode 7, it's my favorite. Baka: ohh, emo foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...........

and

Project DCK

Project DCK has some "language" Actually, a lot. And the only one doing the swearing is Klunk. (you'll find out who he is shortly XD)

Both are hillarious!!!

Nashy-Bear - November 7, 2005 03:11 AM (GMT)
I like Happy Tree Friends and this is not a cartoon for little kids. Violence + cuteness is weird but funny. They even have hearts for thier noses. My fav character would be Giggles.

My anime list would be huge but here are a few: Nadesico, Naruto, Getbackers, Kyo Kara Mao, Excel Saga (this series is warped), Bleach, Full Metal Panic (first season, Fumoffu and the Second Raid), Rozen Maiden, Tsukuyomi Moon Phase, Matantei Loki Ragnarok and Yami no Matsuei.

LightningFlash - November 7, 2005 11:24 AM (GMT)

I'm disgustingly anime deprived down here in Tassie. :(

Most of the anime I have seen is through the JCU Anime Club. I don't know how many anime clubs there are in Oz but there might be one near you LightningFlash.

I also recommend Yu-Gi-Oh, it's a great show despite what 4Kids did to it (they should be shot...). Yami is my favorite character.

DESCENDANT OF DARKNESS!!! OMG, I FOUND SOMEONE ELSE WHO LIKES IT!!! I love that show, Tsusuki is my favorite, he's hilarious. Besides, IT'S DAN GREEN PLAYING HIM! (I have an obsession with Dan Green... well, anyone with a sexy, deep voice really.)

Wolf's Rain, also not for the kiddies, is also a great series to watch. Very touching, but violent. Basically in some near future Wolves have been extinct, well they are thought to be. It's actually close to the end of the world but there is a prophecy saying that Wolves will find paradise. And they will, because Wolves have learned to blend in with humans. The main characters Kiba, Tsume, Hige, and Toboe are the wolves that try and find it. My favorite character is Kiba, so hot, so beautiful...lol not to mention it's Johnny Bosch's voice and his character is just plain awesome.

Jing: King of Bandits, also another awesome series. (Notice my obsession with Anime?) This show doesn't really have much of a plot throughout the DVDs, but each episode is a plot in its own, so it makes up for it. Jing is a kid, about 13 maybe, who is the Bandit King. Many people don't know this though, because most people don't see the bandit King as a kid, but when he steals whatever he wants without anyone knowing, then they believe.

Hm...there are more Anime series that I can mention but there are so many...I'm trying to think, lol. Pretear is also a good one, Oh!!! Kyo Kara Moah!

Omg, KKM is the most hilarious series ever! It's a fantasy comedy action/adeventure story. Basically, this show kinda makes fun of shonen by having every main guy be uber hot (or pretty, in Wolfram's case, lol) and also be gay. So, yeah, not for the Kiddies too. This show, while it tries to be serious, and gets more serious with every disc, but still manages to keep the sillines as well. Which is why I love the show so much. Favorite character; Conrad!

Oh, and Digimon. My most favorite anime of all time! People often mistakes this for a wanna-be Pokemon, but it's FAR from it. And I LOVE IT! MAAAATTTT I LOVE YOUUUUUU!!!

There's way more Anime than this but I can't think of any off the top of my head.

My favorite anime ever is Wolf's Rain, which is basically a futuristic world where wolves hide amoung humans by decieving them. There is a ton of yaoi hints in this show, everything from a young wolf licking an older one's wound, which while they're human is one of the yaoi-est things I've seen on cartoon network, to just barely there hints.

Fullmetal Alchemist
Nothing I could write could ever do this show justice. Two brothers use alchemy, which is based on equivelent exchange, to try and bring their mother back to life. One brother, named Alphonse, is trapped in a suit of armour while the other, Edward, looses his right arm and left leg. The show is based around these characters as they try to find a way to get their origional bodies back. In doing this, they have to avoid sins,(like the beautiful Lust and the Homocidal Envy) keep the millitary happy so they get funding for their research, fight a serial murderer with a dark past, and most of all, take care of each other.

I've got the first four eps of FMA. I think I'll have to get the rest subbed, not dubbed, from eBay. The manga rules. :D

I would get them subbed, but unfortunately I can't read subtitles. Does the series differ from the manga much?

Al's character does, or at least what I've seen of him. And apparently Roy's wimpier in the series. :P

But episode-wise, I really can't say . . . .

Let's see...

Most cartoons on right now are either too early in the morning for me, or too stupid to contemplate watching. So, the list is:

TV cartoons
Fairly Odd Parents (they've recently stopped making it. FOREVER.)
Dragon Booster (duh...)
Daria
BB3B (Like Rugrats, only they suspect their younger brother is an alien!)
Being Ian (Kind of like the old Warner Bros cartoons, with stretchy limbs and all, but v. funny)

Anyone seen this anime series called Excel Saga? My anime-freak friend Karl showed two episodes. The first was alright.

Internet Cartoons

Bonus Stage
HomeStarRunner
Eskimo Bob

You MUST see Eskimo Bob! It's not anything really special animation wise, but the characters are hilarious!! Ever seen a character called Fish in a Spaceship, Yuck (who just so happens to be pigeon droppings struck by lightning and brought to life) or the Alien Businessmen? You will here!
