Cool sign in background: Draconee Yum.

The wall dealio: Switch it backwards. Nayade, if ya wanna have fun translating, don't look on the RoD boards until you're done, 'cause H beat ya to it. ;)

Yep! Furox beat you to it. It just baffles me that Conner would put his son's name on his jacket, backwards, when Artha refused to race at first.

Definitely wishful thinking. :) Not at all unusual for Connor to personalize the jacket for Artha in hopes of encouraging him. Though I still don't get why the lettering would be a mirror image. (Unless it's a technical goof by the artist/modeler.)

Professor Parmon - April 3, 2006 11:40 PM (GMT)
I was just thinking.. if any of the production people were reading this thread, I bet they would think we are all crazy! :P Well.. I am anyways :P

It's just fun to know what they put in those signs.
Great job with the translations.

Know what I find is really weird is that the words in Draconian accually translate in to proper english. You would think they wouldn't accually take time to do that stuff.

Cepheus - May 15, 2006 11:20 PM (GMT)
Maybe they expected some random people to start translating the words, and they didn't want "CHEESE" where it should have said "VORTEX RELAY". :P

Mari - May 17, 2006 11:43 PM (GMT)
Well, that and I think that they just have the font for it. They go around and just type in words for the various signs around the city. :P :D

I can't up the size any more and grantee detail retention. If you need me to I can probably go in and do even more, but that is more precice work with no grantee.

Funnily I also made the letters 'glow,' which looks kinda neat, in my quest for legibility. And I aldo made it look kinda like it's written in blood, neon signs, embossed it (which might have kinda helped a little, maybe).

Mari - May 21, 2006 06:22 PM (GMT)
I did a similar thing when I was trying to translate, but I still had trouble. Part of it was that I didn't know Draconian as well as Nayade does ((It's true, not flattery; I had to check over and over and over to find out just ONE letter.... 'black' took me half an hour.... )) And if you still can't figure out where the oone word I managed to translate is, here's a pic. I know perfectly well that I completely SUCK at telling where things are. :D

Anyways, found this. If you get sick of the book, this should be easy to translate!!! :D

Just looking at it... I think it might say 'alert' but I'm not sure....

One letter, one word would not make a diffrence in the utter 'Bwhhuha?' that is the translation.

Renesh - May 2, 2007 06:44 AM (GMT)
For the last word in the second line, I'm about 95% certain that the last letter is a "t" and about 70% sure the one before it is an "i". The one before that I have no clue. It most closely resembles a "p" or a "u", but either way the word is utter nonsense. Trust me, I checked the dictionary. I went through all of the "liv" words, but none ended in a "t" and were long enough...For the last word of the last line on the top (above the picture of Libris) I'm 99% sure the first letter is a "t".

Since the first page has me hating it right now because it not only isn't talking about Libris like it's supposed to be doing, but it is utterly rediculous nonsense, I'm going to try my hand at the second page for now.

..On a side note, I'm going to put that last bit about the black and the tar in my sig on annother site, see if it generates any curiosity.

[EDIT] I put in english letters over the draconian ones on the image so you can see exactly what it says where. I didn't get all of it of course, but it might help someone else.

user posted image
http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u32/Ren...translation.jpg

While typing this of course, I realized that on the second page the top most bit of writing probably says "like tar" and the second word on the right-hand bit is probably black. The fact that it is written small and is also blurry distorts the letters, making them look like other ones.

For the question marks on the first page, these are the letters I believe they resemble the most, in reading order:

either j or l, either l or u, and either p or u.

...Looking at it again...I think the first one is a j and they forgot to put a space in front of it, and the second one looks alot like a j now...in fact the more I stare at it, the more I'm sure of it. As well as what I said above about the second page. Now if we could only figure out what the liv_ _ t word is...

[/EDIT]

BlueBooster - May 2, 2007 09:21 AM (GMT)
yes that seems very odd all it seems to say is black like tar XD

Renesh - May 2, 2007 09:31 AM (GMT)
No, no, It also says "like tar its black'! <_< And here I was hoping that at least the second page would actually say something....

Burnout Beau - May 4, 2007 11:06 AM (GMT)
This doesn't make any sense at all. What's up with the 'black like tar' or 'like tar it's black' or whatever the book just said. :faint:

Is this some sort of prophecy or a clue of what's going to happen in future episodes?

Renesh - May 6, 2007 12:20 AM (GMT)
Doubtful. I think they are just mocking us. <_< <_<
