OK in the choosing part 1 he doesn't have the fin thingy when he's the black and gold dragon, then in the choosing part 2 he starts off by not having it then when Artha changes for the first time he still doesn't have it. But...when Beau does the big roar later in the choosing part 2 he has it. :blink: Does this mean that it only came when he did the big roar?? :huh:

I think ut's likw his wing-things, it unfurls when he wants it.

I think it is actualy a coninuation error in the Animation.. Beau chin Frills and tail Frills are showing roughly 93% of the time he is in B&G forum through the whole series!
He did not have these before the first DB tranformation by design as far as I can tell, but after that when he is in B&G forum they should be there.

Yes, Beau definitely didn't have any of his frills until episode 2. I tend to think that he can fold and unfold them at will though. When he appears in his black and gold form on top of the roof at the end of episode 2, he doesn't have his chin frill initially. As he leans forward to roar, the frill unfolds. You can see this quite easily in the sequence. (This shot is at the end of the long trailer on the web site if you want to take a look right now.)

I've been assuming that Beau unfolds his frills when he wants to look bigger and more menacing, just like most animals that have such frills do, or when he just wants to look cool. :D In any event, the scene above shows the animators can control the frill, so whether his appearing/disappearing frill is by design or an animation error is pretty much a toss up. It could be either on different occasions.
