Title: International Carl Carnival Carnage
Description: Rough Draft
Sierra - June 25, 2008 02:45 AM (GMT)
The Carl Carnival
Step right up! Step right up!
You're just in time
For the Carl Carnival!
Get your picture taken
With the cardboard cutout of Carl
Buy the Carl doll
That says
"Give me your undivided attention"
"Get right"
"Get some GUTZ"
"I'm your pastor for life."
"Any kindergarddener could understand that!"
"Thus sayeth the lord."
"If I ever go off, then you have the right, the resposibility to confront and tell me."
When you pull the string
Like the old Catholic saints
you can buy a piece of his clothes
They will be auctioned
Money will go to a condo in Florida
One booth will have a taperecorder
Where you can talk to Carl
GGWO is going to send it to him
For $10 , you can have a tour
In Carl Stevens' office
See the inner sactum
See the hidden cameras
Sign the dream guest book
How many of you have had a visit
from Carl?
a word from Carl?

Funny I was thinking 1,2,3,4 songs. Now my abs are getting sore from laughing so HarD.
Please keep my free time in your prayers. I had another silly idea but time is turning down on me.
Gotta go get serious now.
Guest - June 26, 2008 09:29 AM (GMT)
Keep up the good work 1234. Proper sleep is essential while healing. Try to get some quality sleep.
Please know that you are truly loved and welcomed here. My prayers are for you and your "company man" hubby.

Hi 1234,
Won't be at the carnival tonight. I'm on my anti-
Hajj out of Mecca.
The last time I heard Stevens preach was at the 2005 Thur. missions night. In the weeks leading up to that night, I had seen and spoken with Paul and Steve Stevens and Rodger Stenger. I specifically spoke with each of them about a certain subject. When Carl got up to to preach that night, he first spent about five minutes talking about Paul, Steve and Rodger. Lying about all three of them. He spoke about the very things I had discussed with each of them. And lied about all three of them. Got standing ovations galore for it.
After lying about his own sons and Rodger, when he finally began preaching, his topic was -- unconditional love! The standing ovations proved no one saw the irony of a man full of hatred for his own children daring to preach on "unconditional" love...

I had such a hard time finding this.
Anyway enjoy it.

this is a letter from Pastter Schallow,
Please be advised at this convention, that if you have the following situations, they will not be dealt with. All messages and testimonies are to be about Carl and what he was to you, even if he wasn't. In the Fellowship Hall, we expect every pastor from every part of the world to say the same exact speech, no matter what your first language is or what you've been through.
We don't care if your marriage fell apart. No message will give you comfort or direction.l
We don't care if your own father or mother died. They are only your fleshly mother or father. Get over it.
We don't care if you are having financial difficulties. You probably aren't tithing enough or giving to the Carl Stevens Legacy fund.
We don't care if you are having a crisis with your faith. You probably aren't going to enough raps.
We don't care if a relative or leader is abusing you. Trust god.
We don't care if you came from Ohio and your house was flooded.
We don't care if your teenagers are giving you a hard time and you don't know what to do.
We don't care about your personal problems. You are soldiers. Straighten up. Put your backs straight. think of Carl. He's gone now. His legacy is all we have left.
We don't care if you just found out you have cancer. Get over yourself.
We don't care if you lost your job. You can go to more raps.
Get it?
There is no empathy here, no compassion.
What would Jesus do?
He'd take the next flight out of Baltimore.

Before Jesus would take that flight out of Baltimore, He might just chew out a lot of people at the plaza in front of everyone. Then after the flight, He might also start posting a lot on DiscussGGWO to expose the ugly truth about such a compassionless cult known as Greater Disgrace World Outrage (GGWO).

1234,
I'm not sure why you're going to the Plaza, but I do pray that God leads you to people that are confused and hurting, people that would be open to you. There must be people like that there.
Good luck

It's possible to a point but just about every other place would be a better place to be. If a Christian goes to GGWO and puts God first instead of the pastor, they'll ultimately get marked for it. In GGWO circles, the pastor always comes first. In healthy churches, God comes first. What a difference that makes.

So, do you recommend earned degrees or worthless honorary degrees like carl, tom, steve and others used/use in attempts to have credibility in the academic world?
They burp out lies and words of ignorance.
Does anyone know what Dr. Wright from Grace Hour has his degree in, or is it as phoney as carls, toms or steves?

Convention week... Sad to say, I'm pretty sure that this week will haunt me for the rest of my life. Thursday night of convention week. The infamous missions march...
This year, as the plaza show was in full swing on Thursday night, I was listening to some of this generation's greatest prophets as they sang lyrics such as:
Open up the gates of the church and let me out of here
Too many people have lied in the name of Christ
For anyone to heed the call
So many people have died in the name of Christ
That I can't believe it all
(track 18 of this album)
5678 - June 29, 2008 02:21 PM (GMT)
Why will this week haunt you?
You mean the convention week
or this week in particular?

| QUOTE (5678 @ Jun 29 2008, 10:21 AM) |

Just convention week in general, not this particular one. (This week was GREAT! I had a BLAST, far from Mecca!)
Maybe "haunt" wasn't the best word... I've been out three years now. When I first left, I frequently found myself assaulted with an onslaught of thoughts which connected the real world with the la-la land from which I'd just emerged. It was very painful to contrast reality with the pale imitation thereof lived by those in the cave.
Thankfully, those moments have greatly diminished with the passing of time. They're fewer and farther between now. The week of convention was always so important. Especially if you lived far from Mecca, whether it was Lenox or Baltimore. Scrimping and saving to make the trip, spending a week on too little sleep and way too many lectures. etc. To what end? To hear the same VIP preachers endlessly repeat the same sermons?
Every few years, another VIP would be MIA. They'd awakened and left the collective, and were now persona non grata. sigh... If only I (we?) had listened to some of them decades earlier...
The song lyrics I posted yesterday are just one example of so many which have been available to me all along, but which I mindlessly had nothing to do with for so many years.
Make any more sense, 5678?

Good question. I don't know / can't say one way or the other. I did just uncover some interesting information, quoted below.
As I was skimming it, I was reminded of how often Stevens, Scibelli, and many other fundamentalists denigrate any and all forms of "secular" mental health professionals. Once in a great while they may make a half assed comment which acknowledges that "there are times professional help is necessary." It's all smoke and mirrors. They never cite a specific example, detailing exactly what the person suffered from and exactly how a trained professional actually helped...
More often, they want to slap a Bible verse on it and send you on your merry way. And if the verse doesn't work, it's invariably YOUR fault. Didn't mix faith with it, didn't do "something" enough, or you DID do something too much or some other way to wiggle out of it when the band aid fails to cure.
The Grace Hour - Wednesday, February 27, 2008
[Hodeuon's] General commentary: For all that he criticizes secular psychology in this sermon, it’s chock full of psychology. It’s another sermon on living the Christian life. And it’s overly complicated.
The Grace Hour - Tuesday, April 01, 2008
Carl is reviewing how Satan uses psychology to tempt the believer.
The Grace Hour - Tuesday, April 15, 2008
Carl claims the head psychologist of the state of Maine called him up for counseling.
[Hodeuon's] Commentary: I’m not sure about states having head psychologists. But I am pretty sure that the real point of this example was for Carl to establish that he outranks the experts.
The Grace Hour - Wednesday, May 21, 2008
Schaller states that a psychologist said that if he had a way of dealing with guilt, 75% of the mental hospitals would be emptied.
[Hodeuon's] Commentary: Schaller disparages medicine, as usual.
The Grace Hour - Wednesday, June 25, 2008
Scibelli says psychology is nonsense, and if you don’t like that, it’s your problem.
I agree with Steve Scibelli! In 1978-79 (and maybe after as well?), I took a class Carl Stevens taught, called "Christian Psychology." Yep -- nonsense.

Posttraumatic stress disorder (from Wikipedia)
Post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is an anxiety disorder that can develop after exposure to one or more terrifying events in which grave physical harm occurred or was threatened. It is a severe and ongoing emotional reaction to an extreme psychological trauma. This stressor may involve someone's actual death or a threat to the patient's or someone else's life, serious physical injury, or threat to physical and/or psychological integrity, to a degree that usual psychological defenses are incapable of coping. In some cases it can also be from profound psychological and emotional trauma, apart from any actual physical harm. Often, however, the two are combined.
PTSD is a condition distinct from traumatic stress, which is of less intensity and duration....
Managing Traumatic Stress (from those evil folks at the American Psychological Association; I recommend the entire, brief article to you)
Traumatic experiences... tend to be sudden and overwhelming. In some cases, there are no outwardly visible signs of physical injury, but there is nonetheless a serious emotional toll. It is common for people who have experienced traumatic situations to have very strong emotional reactions. Understanding normal responses to these abnormal events can aid you in coping effectively with your feelings, thoughts, and behaviors, and help you along the path to recovery.
What happens to people after a disaster or other traumatic event?
Shock and denial are typical responses to disasters and other kinds of trauma, especially shortly after the event. Both shock and denial are normal protective reactions.
Shock is a sudden and often intense disturbance of your emotional state that may leave you feeling stunned or dazed. Denial involves your not acknowledging that something very stressful has happened, or not experiencing fully the intensity of the event. You may temporarily feel numb or disconnected from life.
As the initial shock subsides, reactions vary from one person to another. The following, however, are normal responses to a traumatic event:
* Feelings become intense and sometimes are unpredictable. You may become more irritable than usual, and your mood may change back and forth dramatically. You might be especially anxious or nervous, or even become depressed.
* Thoughts and behavior patterns are affected by the trauma.... You may find it difficult to concentrate or make decisions, or become more easily confused. Sleep and eating patterns also may be disrupted.
* Recurring emotional reactions are common. Anniversaries of the event, such as at one month or one year... can trigger upsetting memories of the traumatic experience...
* Interpersonal relationships often become strained. Greater conflict, such as more frequent arguments with family members and coworkers, is common. On the other hand, you might become withdrawn and isolated and avoid your usual activities.
* Physical symptoms may accompany the extreme stress....
See how evil these shrinks are?
How do people respond differently over time?
A number of factors tend to affect the length of time required for recovery, including:
* The degree of intensity and loss...
* A person's general ability to cope with emotionally challenging situations...
* Other stressful events preceding the traumatic experience. Individuals faced with other emotionally challenging situations, such as serious health problems or family-related difficulties, may have more intense reactions to the new stressful event and need more time to recover.
How should I help myself and my family?
* Give yourself time to heal. Anticipate that this will be a difficult time in your life. Allow yourself to mourn the losses you have experienced. Try to be patient with changes in your emotional state.
* Ask for support from people who care about you and who will listen and empathize with your situation....
* Become knowledgeable about what to expect as a result of trauma. Some of the 'Additional Resources' listed at the end of this fact sheet may help you with this learning process.
Really good article, with no psycho-babble. Much more than what I quoted.
guestrong - June 29, 2008 09:02 PM (GMT)
On discussion of trauma , stress and coping; CIA has excellent material if you have time to search. They are professionals that understand. Even though they made mistakes, the work is proven. Perhaps carnival living is the only way to relieve such repressed thoughts like "why God doesnt heal me" . As long as the in and out lines of communication are open a person should be moving forward in mind, body and spirit.---------------------
---------- Unless the controlling authority has reservations about dealing with real issues.

Thanks to Carl's f***ed up view of psychology I have family members who struggle with hearing voices (those from Carl himself) saying that they are not spiritual enough and bringing them to the place that they have no job, no income, and on the verge of being homeless!!
