Could someone please explain what Tom Powell-Stevens (or is he Tom Powell-Schaller?) was talking about when he taught this concept back 10 or 12 years ago?
I think they were misconstruing Matthew 22 but they never recant their flawed teaching and I just don't know what that was about. Something about a magic rank scheme in heaven for those that "stick it out" or something foolish like that.
Please add comments.
Reminds me of a pastor that wished and dreamed all of his career for a millionaire to join his church.
I am not sure about the outer darkness doctrine but I can remember being taught about Psalm 106:
And he gave them their request; but sent leanness into their soul.
I don't know if this is relevant, but in the GG Glossary the definition of "outer darkness" appears under the definition of "hell".

| Outer darkness: Greek: skotos: darkness, complete darkness, blindness; a place of punishment (Matthew 8:12, 22:13, 25:30). |
Quite a scanty definition.
Years ago it was taught here by TP, as a place for the believer that lacked faithfulness in his calling. While the faithful will be dining with Jesus, the unfaithful believer would be looking in, with great sadness and remorse, from the outer darknes. He doesn't teach that here anymore, but has never retracted it. In fact, he made a big deal (around 2001) about how rediculous that teaching is, yet never admitted that he used to teach it. This is typical regarding change around LGM. It is difficult to admit to mistakes when you are supposedly the mouthpiece for God (this goes for board members as well)!
