Darn it Janebob, I said i wouldn't respond to you until you responded to the questions posed to you, but i can't resist because this very issue is one of things that really began to bother me. Before i left that place i started asking questions like "why are so many long term, quality servants leaving this place, and why aren't we talking about the reasons that they are leaving as if they may possibly have some validity"? Instead lies and deception are being spread about. This question was quickly dismissed and denegrated by leaders in your church. I was gently rebuked for asking the question by fellow board members as if i was speaking for the devil himself. Janebob, if you want to be in a church where the leadership is more concerned about protecting a program or a system than caring about people, then you are in the right place. Have fun! BTW, it would seem that many people, maybe even you, are more concerned about defending a man and a system than considering all the evidence at hand. Do you know what that says? The Leadership book has always been sold openly to the public. That really was not my point. The book is addressing the topic of leadership and is recommended reading and studying for "future pastors". My point is you cant find a standard doctrine booklet about how to determine if your pastor is struggling with affiliation. You can read in the leadership manual ( a book by its very own title directed to train leaders on how to lead) a way to determine if your pastor is now "getting off". I find this as a way to say, "HEY dont say these things or you will be noted as being divisive and not one with vision with Baltimore. Of course " we never taught that here".

Side note: Schaller when I openly confronted him and asked if the issues from Sandy Cove would be brought up to the congregation in Baltimore told me "what issues". I said well how about one Pastor teacher for life. His response was, " I have never believed that nor have I ever taught it" I was a bit ASTOUNDED at his response. He continued, " I dont think Dr Stevens ever taught it either, show me one video or doctrine booklet with that teaching, I think it came from teh guy from texas". I looked at him puzzled and said, " well you got me, I cant quote where it is in print but thats not the problem the problem is half the church here believes it how did they come to understand that doctrine and believe it" His answer was, " I have not been here I have been overseas so I dont know what people believe".

Nothing is really ever prohibited per se in GGWO. John Collins bought the Sandy Cove documents in the Book store after we had a few conversations about it. He simply walked in and bought it. How many people do you think who were "in the know" would have done that. There had been weeks and weeks of belittling the sandy cove conference no one would do it without feeling they had betrayed the ministry or Schaller or Stevens or even God.

My my my. I have been out at work all day and decided to check this out when I came home. Here is a really good point of discussion. Of course you felt attacked by my calling your words a threat. your words were about like this. ( BTW did you notice that I mentioned how you would respond prior to you posting, the reason is it was textbook) " Meagan I think you should consider not saying more before somebody decides to tell what you have done" I might be wrong but that was about what you said. This is how we talk in the background we came from. My suggestion to you was to bring your words, try to remember exactly what you said, to a counselor or outside party and give the context of how it was written and let them determine if your words contain a threat. You would call it a sincere warning of what could happen to her. How is she supposed to take it. It is a warning that someone will expose her if she continues to post. Who is this someone?

Anyway. another great point of conversation is this. What you did by detracting your post and not allowing it to stand on its own merits and then trying to clarify what you meant is the real reason no one can "go alone to leadership" and get satisfaction. There is nothing to discuss. If the leadership agrees with you fine. We have also been trained that it is innappropriate to disagree with leadership. Who is going to continue when they find out that leadership has no intention of agreeing with them? We simply have no capacity to actually interact with people that disagree with us. If someone disagrees then " They are against us" I hope you see the points I am making.

Re: The Leadership manual
Many copies have been imported from Baltimore to Tacoma over a period of several years and they were used as a textbook for several Bible college classes.

At this point in time even the author would concede that the manual is slanted.

I find it absolutely absurd that the main point of rebuttal toward the issues that are brought up on this site is to focus on Megan. You LGM'ers that post on here using that method are embarrasing to your own cause. You prove that, like the leader you blindly defend, there is no rational defense to the issues that are brought up here, only diversion and coverup tactics. You also prove that, like the leader you blindly defend, that you care more about loyalty to a man and an organization than you do about people. I seriously doubt that you have read the previous two threads with an open mind as to whether the things said are true or not, but only with a mind to defend at all cost. It will be a tough pill for you to swallow on the day that you finally leave because you've seen enough, or are burned out and can't find Jesus any longer, or any of the many reasons that people are leaving GG/LGM ministries. Fret not, we will love and accept you regardless. I would invite you to consider answering the questions that have been posed to you, even if you answer them only to your self, if you're honest with yourself i think that you'll find that there is no rational defense for the problems that exist in LGM. This will be my LAST post for a while on this website. However, please do not be mistaken. You have not SHUT me up or changed my OPINION on the subject of LGM. Anyone who actually comes to me with questions, insight, or insult will get my HONEST answers and opinions. If there is one thing I learned since leaving LGM is to approach each day and each person with complete HONESTY. Learning and reading and experiencing FIRST hand how CRUEL people can be has taught me and made me want to be the most HONEST I can even at the risk of hurting others. Because as you can see by your sensless attacks.... LIES and INSINCERITY hurt way more.

I do have one question for you... (TILLIS, ASTOUNDED, WISE ONE...and all the others who have tried to make this website about me and my flaws) Where and the Hell were you before I started posting? This website was created and had atleast 70 pages before I even got here. Where were you before I even left? You were probably pretending to love me and befriend me, you were probably sitting beside me in messages, you were probably laughing and joking with me, you were probably hugging me and serving God beside me, You were probably listening as I cried on your shoulders, You were probably bumming rides off of me, You were probably calling me to substitute for you in a ministry, You were probably claiming to love God and Love people with the love that God created.

I remember when I was STILL attending LGM and we went to a dinner with some of the ex pastors. They answered our questions HONESTLY and LEGITAMATELY. They never once slandered anyone in the church. We were able to have a DISCUSSION not an INSULT FEST. IT was definitly an eye opener but not only that it was a validated discussion that in no way was intended to hurt people. That is also what this website is....REAL PEOPLE with REAL ISSUES not cruel people coming on here to call people out and slander their name!

Lastly, as I said before... I am in no way shutting up. I still believe the system is wrong! and you know what else... I still love CHRIST and Jesus still loves me. Alright Astounded, I really don’t want to post but I will. It is so pitiful to read your post and I will try to help you. I will save you from yourself, your people and the evil system you are now under. I really really don’t want to post because I know what the people in this church are capable of. Anyways here it goes:

The truth about the attendees can be found in your own words about people in LGM whom are willing to “Protect Pastor” or “The System” with their attacks. Lets call them “The Covering Arc Angles” I agree that people should “Be Careful” These people are considered an asset and heroes in the system I Promise you that. These are the ones that participating church members by the way, have to work with (Certainly if you are not in the inner circle) The horrific truth about this sad, sad system is that it breads characters that love to control and oppress and attack people with any advantage they can by using the power of the system to their advantage. These Covering Arc Angles are actually cannibals and probably have had training from the man himself.

I bestow this truth upon you so that you can really know what it is like and has become.
You can do what ever you want with the information. I imagine that you are a pastor or a pastors wife that is in the inner circle, or perhaps you are a person that hasn’t played a role in any kind of leadership, so how would you know.

It is so sad that in a place that even has the word “Grace” in its title would have people in its fold that no one would tell that they don’t know the first thing about grace and they are left to judge others, oppress them, control them ect. And the true leadership TURNS THEIR BACKS!!! Oh won’t one of you that are there now stand for what is right. You know what I say is true. Take a stand for yourself, Take a stand for your family,Take a stand for your maker. Yes there are plenty of people their at LGM that will be more than willing to attack people, or sin, or direct a personal attack at you posters here on Discussggwo. They are well practiced at what they do. (Sad way of ‘’fellowship’’ in a place called Living Grace)
There is so much more that I could say about committing all things to God but it would fill up the whole page. There are many things I could say about freedom, equality and true grace. To put it plainly so that a child could understand it, are the people treating others the way they would like to be treated? Would they like to answer to a man or God? Is there really a choice? I hope you find this information helpful. Take time to go before the Lord in prayer on these issues.

Remember, that key GGWO/TBS folks have left GGWO over last few years - these people were pillars of the church and have been with GGWO for some 20-30 years. It's a gigantic step to leave GGWO after such a very long time.
And also, at GGWO we all have been conditioned not to talk about things because it has been taught us that no matter if a matter is true or not, you don't tell it to others as supposedly you violate 35 major Bible doctrines and the judgement which should the guilty party should receive, will in turn supposedly fall on you if you tell and even if you utter your concerns. Don't say that these kinds of threats which are established in the mind over many years, and that this kind of fear is not abuse and cultic behavior? If GGWO didn't have anything to hide, then such weird out-of-context doctrines would never be emphasized. ''

I remember there was only the three of us in that room so who the hell are you to post what tp said or did?

I was there. @ the request of the mother. She wanted me to sit with her as she was alittle shy to go talk to him.

My question is this to you since he has given you the right to speak for him.
Post note: I remember he said in a staff meeting over 10 years ago that we where not to speak for him in any circumstance, but to encourage the person to go to him.

With all of Powell's education, you cannot tell me that he wasn't taught that people were going to come to him with tremendous hurt and pain in their lives looking for God's help. He should have known that he would not be albe to help many of these who needed professional care beyound his limited ability.

He should have spent some of his time getting to know those who could help that he could refer those of us to.
He should have had a long list ready for such events.

When I found out about a situation of the need of a counseling it took us less then 1 day to get alist of 3 ref. from our family Dr. and it took tom powell 2years and two weeks. But the other people got in to others right away by his admission.

Because up till now nobody knew what he was making (125k) while his church was losing 4k a month and many of his people are striving just to make ends meet. No one says that the ox should be muzzled, but you don't have to give him the entire grainery.
Two or three people determine his salary, not the church or even the whole board.
I don't think that a CEO of a 'corporation' that continually loses money would continue to make his executive salary, especially if he didn't do a darn thing to turn things around, but instead blamed everyone else!

Graduate programs do not necessarily require that the undergraduate have been done at a regionally accredited school. Literally, not even Harvard requires this in all cases. In many cases, professional accreditation is acceptable.

Even if the undergraduate school was unaccredited, a seminary might be willing to admit on basis of a placement exam. If the two schools come from a common theological tradition or have an especially close relationship, a student might even be able to test out of survey-level graduate courses.

wow, you miss a few days and you miss so much. Janebob, there are only 2 pastor's wives with young girls. Only one of them drops her kid off everywhere so someone else can watch her. Not the reason I came to post. I was reading in the book of Galatians today. Let's start at 6:1..." Bretheren, even if anyone is caught in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, each one looking to yourself, so that you too will not be tempted. Bear one another's burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ. For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he decieves himself." (Look it up, keep reading, it is so good!)

What I don't see in this verse, if anyone is caught in any trespass, tell the young men in your church, so they will know to avoid him. Tell the other pastor's cause they need to know. Make fun of him from the pulpit. Give him the cold shoulder treatment. Post it on the internet. NO!!! You who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness (not pride, contempt, ignoring, ... have I ever seen the spirit of gentleness from the pulpit? maybe once or twice....)

Now some will say this should be done for Pastor, well it has been. Over and over again, I know of so many who have gone to pastor, and tried to restore him, but his pride kept him from receiving or changing. PRIDE! Now it is too late it seems.

For if anyone thinks he is something when he is nothing, he deceives himself.
See we all are "nothing", but the problem is when pride comes in and makes us feel we are really "something".

We all need to assess our hearts today. Jesus, show us where pride has snuck in, or barrelled it's way through into our lives. Restore in us a spirit of gentleness, and humility.

It is hard to love the unlovely, but that is what we are called to do. So, Janebob, Astounded, I will choose to love you anyway.
(It is a little harder to find any love for you LGM for LIfe, I just feel sick and sorry for you),... but I will ask God for some extra for you too.

Something to Think About, you gave me a lot to think about. But also I think about when Jesus rebuked Peter and said, "Satan, get behind me." But let's put into practice what you talked about:

LGM for Life, I'm sure that you have some legitimate points, but your posts are so childish that it negates any credibility that you might have. Surely TP isn't aware that you are posting here. So you don't really represent LGM, do you? You are acting independently of the church that you say you love so much. If you are so loyal to TP, why would you go against his orders? Because when people want to hate and they are jealous and insecure, they can't help themselves and they go against logic. You can find statements like this in many ABD classes about why Lucifer was jealous and enraged. Don't be a vessel for evil. You were made in the image of God. Be with your loved ones during this Thanksgiving and Christmas season and appreciate all that God has given you. They need your time. Don't waste it here. It's not fruitful for your life. Please let God love you in areas of your life that hurt where you haven't let Him in yet. If you are so happy with your church, then thank God for it and serve them with joy. If you do that, you'll soon forget all about us and be occupied with Christ who's coming soon.

You know very well that you need our love because we are all a part of the Body of Christ. God made us to need one another. You know better than to say you didn't ask for our love. It's not something that you ask for. Sometimes hate is love that was hurt and decayed. We are sorry that we hurt you and changed the world you knew. We are sorry that things aren't like the way they were before. We aren't getting any joy out of this either. Growing up is hard to do...for all of us.

There definitely is a certain amount of irony that some kid would call himself LGM FOR LIFE.
