Tomonari found his apartment as he held the egg he carried in one arm. "Ah geez, this is a pain. Well, at least I have a place to stay.", he said to himself. Nobody else was around, so it was all good. He put the key in the slot and opened the door. The apartment wasn't much, but it was ok to live in. Tomonari closed the door behind him and set the egg down on the bed. "Oi, I hope this mate hatches soon...", he said to himself again. Tomonari plopped right down on the bed and began to sleep.

During the sleeping process, the egg began to glow. It was hatching, and it shook violently as it hatched. After a good amount of time, a small digimon appeared out of it. This was a Popomon. Seeing the sleeping human, he decided to sleep next to him, since the baby was tired as well. Tomonari opened his eyes and saw the Popomon. "Hey buddy. Heh, good night.", he said and smiled. The teen and the digimon slept peacefully for the next few hours.

Waking up from the long sleep, Tomonari noticed that Popomon was gone. "YO! Where'd you go mate?", he said. Popomon was found shivering near the bed. Tomonari went up to him, but jumped back as he glowed. Popomon let out, "Popomon digivolve to..........Friimon!" Friimon looked up at Tomonari and said, "Hey there. I'm Friimon, you're new digimon! Digimon are creatures that live in the digital world! Hope that works for you." Tomonari replied, "Um, er, yeah. It makes sense.....I guess. I'm Tomonari by the way. Looks like we're gonna be partners for a LONG time. Heh, come on! Let's go out and see what's in the city." Tomonari opened the door and let Friimon through first, then closed the door behind him as he followed his partner.
