Title: Dah basics
Description: Gotta start some where...

Dee~Jay - August 18, 2008 07:34 PM (GMT)
Tamer Name: David Lakner
Digimon Species: Frimon
Battle Type: Hologram
Field Area: Random

(4,750-50=4700)

A tall youth stood at the doorway of the holographic training arena. It didn’t look like much, but then again, looks can be deceiving. David turned to his digimon (which was on his neck) with a cocked eyebrow.

“You sure your up for this? I mean, you never know what’ll happen when you set things to random.” David half smiled as he thought of the many reasons random wasn’t always the best choice for starters. In all his time of playing video games he knew dam well it was always smarter to start in a more controlled environment.

“No worries Dee, I can take what ever comes our way! Besides, this training run is more like card practice for you.” The small feline digimon playfully bumped the side of his tamer’s head with his tail.

“Cards. Right.” David sighed as he reached in to his bag and pulled out his cards.
At the moment, he didn’t have much of a selection, but he had already thrown to gather a few basic combos, though they were fairly simple, they would be enough to get them by.
He hoped any way.

Vn70072 - August 23, 2008 06:32 PM (GMT)
"Bake?" asked a rasping voice, as it spoke, the blank training room abruptly transformed. The darkness of night wrapped around them, the landscape, from the dark, dry dirt to the pale, dead trees looked as lifeless as the numerous occupants of the ground beneath the worn and scattered stone marks dotting the graveyard.

And in fighting theme for a graveyard, what appeared like a ghost slowly glided toward them from directly ahead. A ragged white sheet hung in the air, beady black eyes and gaping teeth set into a face, with what appeared to be stubby arms in loose, equally tattered sleeves.

Dee~Jay - August 23, 2008 09:46 PM (GMT)
David sighed as night fell over the area. To his surprise, dead trees and tombstone also digitized from nothing. It was nice, really, seeing the moon and all that, the normal training area was far to plain anyway. David smiled as what seemed to be a bedsheet floated closer to him. Kayo on the other hand, well, he didn't seem to find the ghost digimon as humorous as his tamer.

"Hey Kayo, you scared? Cause I think I see dead people..."

"No!And it's a digimon genius."

Kayo shot David a dirty look, which looked pretty funny coming from something as cute as a frymon. The fuzzy little digimon bounced off of David's shoulder and landed softly on the ground.

"Humph.."

David bent down and started to scratch the little digimon behind the frill, and even if he was angry, he started to purr. When David stood back up, Kayo made an impression of davids smug face.

"You suck..."

David laughed as he shook his head. When he opened his eyes, he realized that the ghost digimon was floating there, not ten feet away. Little arms, little black eyes, Big curved teeth. Up close one could notice that behind it's teeth was the inside of its mouth, but David could only stop to think where it's mouth ends up, it was obvious that the digimon had something under the cloth, but there was no hint as to what it was. Davids digivice activated and a 3d image of the digimon, who would now be known as bakemon.

"So, that's a bakemon..A ghost type, no kidding, smart, mysterious, he has the attacks death charm, hells hand, and ghost chop. He can do ghostly things, so we'll have to make sure he doesn't turn intangible, OK kayo?"

David skimmed through info that appeared on the screen, and looked to his digimon to make sure he got it all. Kayo nodded and turned his gaze to the bakemon. David pushed a button and the image disapeared. He put his attention on the ghost.

"Alright alright baka monster dude, you ready?"

Vn70072 - August 24, 2008 06:03 PM (GMT)
"Enemies, one, two!" Chanted the Bakemon. "Make first move, you will, yes?" As he drifted a little closer, a cold wind blew across the graveyard, stirring the ribbons of wispy fog hanging close to the ground.

The ghost seemed true to his word, eying Kayo intently but as he slowed to a halt, took no more action than to simply levitate another foot or so off the ground.

Dee~Jay - August 24, 2008 08:23 PM (GMT)
"All righty then."

David nodded, considering what if any thing little Kayo could do to his ghostlike opponent. Since all of both frymon's and KOkabuterimon's attacks where purely physical, it didn't seem as though Kayo would stand a ghost of a chance.

"Hay Deejay, what should I do? I can't do this with out your help remember?"

David half smiled to him self. Bakemon was an adult level, Kayo, was a baby. David had the cards that could have easily leveled the playing field, it he where to use his law of the normal card, the bakemon would be forced to digivolve, making him a match for kayo. But at this point, David knew that kayo could evolve when ever he wanted, making him a child level, and if David where to then us his card laiko's compassion, Kayo would then evolve to champion for a short amount of time. David held a card up, and slashed his through his digivice.

"Digimodify, law of the normal! Activate!"

Kayo blinked as the large ghost type digimon started to glow and shrink into something more his size. David nodded, he knew that as soon as kayo where to digivolve, the digimon the had taken Bakemons place would be forced to do the same. Kayo couldn't take any kind of level advantage, but at least the two digimon power would be some what balanced.

OCC( Yah thanks by the way VN, I was hoping I could get some extra training in before jenny got back.)

Name: Law of the Normal

Vn70072 - August 25, 2008 04:25 AM (GMT)
"Cards, one!" recited the Bakemon, before the very card he'd noted infiltrated his data core and forced him to devolve. A ball of gray fluff with rabbit-like ears and slit-like red eyes took the ghost's place. Bakemon wasn't really intangible, not any moreso than a standard hologram, but the boy had to learn the ropes somehow.

Though now only Kayo's equal in level, he seemed no less bold, bouncing rapidly toward the Frimon with full intent to headbutt him.

Dee~Jay - August 26, 2008 11:54 PM (GMT)
David blinked, shocked that such a creepy digimon would have come from a grey bunny thing. Well, he wasn't that shocked, after all, every one knows bunny's are evil. He shook the thought away and turned back to the battle. The little monster was charging, Kayo, well he would be, if it had legs. He looked at his cards, wondering if he should use them to give Kayo some extra power, but decided to put them away instead. Using cards was like cheating, it's no fun to cheat, and there's no honor in it. One should only use cheats to level the playingfield, not give your self the edge. Besides, it would do kayo good to fight at his own level, that way he would deserve how much stronger he got, and would learn to control the power he earned.

Kayo stould still, letting his opponent come to him. There was no point in bouncing at the pagumon, when it was coming to him anyway. It was obvious that the digimon was planning to head but him, why else would it be bouncing so fast? He would make it work, he just had to wait till it got close enough.

"Shippo Binta!"

Kayo howled as he bounced at the pagumon, hardened the hair on his tail, and swung it forward to smash his enemy.

OCC( I know, it sucks, but i didn't have much time today, i'll make up for it next time ^_^)

Vn70072 - August 27, 2008 03:27 PM (GMT)
Pagumon reacted instantly to Kayo's meeting his charge, throwing in an extra-high bounce at the last moment. The tail grazed his belly as he passed over his opponent, the rabbit spinning in the air so that he faced the Frimon as he landed behind him.

"Poison Bubbles!" As the words exited his mouth, so to did a stream of pale, grayish bubbles, each of the tiny, frail liquid spheres formed from a poison and directed straight toward where Kayo's back had been.

Dee~Jay - August 27, 2008 11:47 PM (GMT)
David knew what happened before the attack was even called. Kayo, was simply to slow. The little grey digimon had time to give him self more momentum then Kayo had thought. The attack missed, and now the pagumon had the drop on Kayo.
Kayo was still trying to catch his balance after his attack. A stream of bubbles flew at the frymon, hitting him behind his frill. The attack it's self did little real damage, seeing as it was a simple spray of grey bubbles, but as the bubbles popped they released a grey mist. The mist covered Kayo's back, and quickly spread around him.

Kayo soon found that he was having trouble keeping his eyes open. His tail dipped down and he started to drift off. David couldn't take it. He didn't want to cheat to win, but he didn't want kayo to get hurt either. His hands shot for his cards. He could still win if he picked the right ones. Picking out a card and putting the rest back into his bag.

"Kayo! You gota hang in there bro! You can beat this freak, I know you can!"

just as David finished his plea, Kayo closed his eyes and started to float in to the air. David watched Jaw dropped as Kayo was covered in what looked like a large blue/yellow digiege. The egg started to grow and pulse with light. David had to cover his eyes because of the brightness

"Frimon, Digivolve to.....KOkabuterimon!"

When David opened his eyes again he saw that the little frymon was replaced buy a four foot tall blue beetle with a large shell and big fore arms and feet.
KOkabuterimon, David had seen him digivolve once before, but had to dedigivolve so he could fight jenn's cuppimon on even ground. David smiled to his newly evolved digimon. Kayo of course would tried to stick out his tongue, but soon found that his new from didn't actually have a tongue. Instead he just shook his head, rolling his 'eyes'. The pagumon was once again forced to change form. This time, his opponent was replaced with what looked like a big purple ginuea pig with large ears that reassembled bat wings.

"He's a tsukaimon, a messenger for the demon lords. He has a bunch of long range attacks."

David readout loud what had appeared on his digivice, nodding. The purple piggy was a long range fighter, Kayo on the other hand was a strict close range fighter.
Plus the tsukaimon could fly, it was way to much of an advantage. David looked at the card he had grabbed earlier. He knew he would need a long range attack for kayo, and this one was near perfect. The card was called Dark Light. It gives the user the ability to shoot black blasts of light that do twice as much damage for virus type digimon. The attack, could only be use once, when used by a data type digimon, but a virus type, could use it as many times as they saw fit. Kayo was a virus type. David smiled and slashed the card.

"Dark Light, Digimodify!"

OCC( a little open ended, but any more would be uber god moding, I think. :o.oU: . Any way, I made pagumon digivolve to tsukaimon because pagumon is a bunny, tsukaimon is kinda like a bunny, :O.o: and well, tsukaimon is considered to be bakemons personal child level. If you don't like it, just say so, I'd be happy to change it. Yah, I Changed the post because the card would not have worked on a Frymon, I did not realize that baby levels Do not have Familys. I Thank SK for pointing this out for me. YOU ROCK :^,^: )

Name: Dark Light
Number: U04
Type: Single Target
Duration: Remainder of the battle
Effect: The user’s Digimon shoots a black beam of energy at one opponent, dealing 15 points of damage, or 30 if the user is a Virus-type. The attack can only be used by Data- or Virus-type Digimon, but while Data-types can only use it once, Virus-types can use it as many times as they wish during the battle.

Vn70072 - August 29, 2008 07:20 PM (GMT)
"Cards one, two! " The Pagumon said, before a blink later and it was Tsukaimon. Blinking, he settled his sights again on his opponent, who despite evolution and the slash of an attack card, did not seem to take any action.

"Bad Message!" he yelled, hovering whilst shooting a cursed purple Kanji at his foe.

Dee~Jay - August 30, 2008 06:19 PM (GMT)
David glanced at his digimon and nodded his head. Kayo returned the nodded and stood still. He waited for the Tsukaimon to attack, and when it did, Kayo fallowed suit. Slowly, he moved his arms up and pointed out in front of him. His hands started to glow with a black aura.

"Dark Light!"

The Digimon cried as the aura around his hands intensified and surrounded his body. All of the light around him grew back to the 'palms' of kayo's hands, and with a forceful thrust of his arms, a black beam of light flew at the tsukaimon, destroying it's own attack on the way.

Vn70072 - August 31, 2008 02:24 PM (GMT)
Surprised by his foe's parry, Tsukaimon wasn't able to dodge in time, as the dark light struck it, knocking him backwards. Were he any more than cohesive photons and a computer script, he might have felt pain.

He drifted toward the ground, not giving up but intending to land. "Purple Fog!" a purple mist poured from his wings, laden with poisonous powder. With repeated flaps, he blew the billowing fog cloud toward his enemy.

Dee~Jay - August 31, 2008 07:03 PM (GMT)
"wait...ok DeeJ, think here, in Roleplaying games, attacks like that don't do huge amounts of damage like a sword attack or a magic blast, there more like the kind of thing that does really small amounts of damage, but continuous to hurt you every turn, even after the bad guy uses other attacks, so in the end, they do way more damage then a normal attack. I don't think Kayo can avoid being hit buy it. We have to end this soon, or Kayo could be in trouble."

David nodded to himself, remembering how many times he hade fallen victim to this strategy on games like pokemon, and final fantasy. It wasn't a huge problem, but them again, in those games, the characters weren't real. The main way to avoid falling for this tactic, was to defeat the enemy before they had the chance to catch you of guard and trap you. They where to late to do that. It seemed as if fighting different levels of digimon, would change, depending on what digimon you used to fight them, not because of sure power. a lesson learned. But now David had to make sure that he didn't put this knowledge to shame.

"Kayo, we should end this quickly, before the purple stuff has to much of an effect on you."

Kayo heard his tamers voice and nodded. Because of the thick purple fog, he had a hard time seeing the purple digimon, but he could see the effect that the flapping of it's wings had on the purple fog around it. The continuous shifts of air moving through the mist. Kayo had his sights on it, but didn't think that it could make a direct hit with his new 'Dark Light' attack. The tsukaimon was close to then ground, a little lower then Kayo's eye level, meaning it could drop to the ground if it needed to.

"Alright, I think I have a plan David...just Be ready if it doesn't work, OK?

Kayos hands started to glow with a Dark aura of light, light which was easily seen through the mist. Kayo knew that his opponent would see the light and be ready to dodge this time, that's what he hoped anyway. Kayo pulled back his arms, and let louse the blast with another forward thrust. The black blast or light streaked across the field, dissolving all of that fog in its way, clearing a path for Kayo to run down as he fallowed the blast, using it as both a shield form the tsukaimons attacks, and a diversion. The blast struck the ground below the purple hologram, creating an explosion of dirt and purple mist. Kayo using his larger arms and legs to propel through the chaos of the explosion, and directly over the tuskaimon.
Kayo Drew back his right arm and swung down as hard as he possibly could.

"Beetle Lariat!"

Vn70072 - September 2, 2008 02:34 AM (GMT)
Dazed by the explosion, Tsukaimon was ill-prepared for the follow-up slash attack. But even as he crashed to the barren graveyard soil, he bounced back upward with a flap of his wings, quickly countering. "Fluffy attack!" He shot like a bullet toward the blue-shelled insect, aimed low in attempt to slip under his arms and knock his legs out from under him.

Dee~Jay - September 4, 2008 04:21 PM (GMT)
"Little Guy just won't stay down...what should I do next? Dam, I was sure that would work. I could use another card, maybe one that would heal kayo, or one to make him stronger. No, those cards take a lot of energy out of him, if I use another one, he could have the power to waist that little purple pig, but if my plan doesn’t work, Kayo could be in trouble. Dam it." ( My cpu can't use the Italics or smileys, so just telling you, he was thinking this.)

Kayo landed in a patch of grass, between tombstones. He panted, quietly, hoping David wouldn't notice how much energy his attack had taken out of him. The purple fog had cleared away, and kayo was able to catch his breath. Not soon enough, to avoid the tsukaimon’s counter attacked. The digimon through it's self at Kayo, in an attempt to take out his legs and knock the beetle over. Not the most intelligent plan of action. Though Kayo wasn't the fastest on his feet, his compound eyes and super strength gave him quick enough reflexes to easily make up for it.

Kayo blocked the tsukaimon with his lower arms, giving him just enough time to try and slam his larger right arm down on his opponent, hoping to either deal damage, or take out its wings, and limit its movement.

Vn70072 - September 8, 2008 04:07 AM (GMT)
The hologram suddenly flickered as Kayo's blow now passed through it, and then it exploded for it had reached its simulated limits.

"Done well, you have," the hologram's disembodied voice echoed through the mist-covered graveyard. "In orders, congratulations are."

((.1 DEP, and 150 bits))

Dee~Jay - September 8, 2008 07:19 PM (GMT)
Kayo blinked, shocked, after all that he had used to attack the hologram, and he beat it with a simple trust of his fist. He knew that his other attacks had at least weakened the digimon, but he thought it would take more then a punch to defeat it, even if it wasn't a real digimon. David nodded as the tsukaimon gave his last words, congratulations, that’s what it said. It congratulated them, for defeating it. For killing it. For endings it's life. Though it was a holographic digimon, it was still a digimon. It fought, and it made choices the same as Kayo, and in the end it disappeared. The tsukaimon was no longer there in the world, and it was there fault.

David steadied his gaze on his digimon. The blue beetle smiled to his tamer happily with pride for wining there first 'real' battle. Kayo slowly walked over to David, his joy of victory overcame his lack of energy. David smiled back and moved towards his digimon to pat it on the back. As he did, the room changed back from the spooky graveyard, to a blank white room the size of a school gym. To say the least, David preferred the graveyard.

"We won DeeJ, We did it!"

Kayo smiled as his tamer patted him on the back. David nodded, keeping his calm cool expression. They won, just not the way he wanted to. The use of cards, and the death of there opponent was not according to plan. David knew that a normal digimon could never truly die, but what about the hologram? Kayo wouldn't know, so there was no point asking him, besides, he seemed happy, David didn't want to cramp his mood.

"Yah, we kick his but didn't we Kayo?"

The use of the word 'we' was thrown around a lot in there conversation. Kayo did all of the work. David use a few cards, some of them did help, but the others just made kayo weaker. In the future David would have to be more careful of how many, and what cards he used. But in the end, they did win, and Kayo only got stronger.
That would have to be worth it.

"All right Kay, lets go find something to eat, I'm hungry."
