Title: Bickering in the Sand
Description: what a glorious feeling xD
fishcakes - March 7, 2008 08:35 PM (GMT)
"Neh, Tsukaimon?"
"Un?"
"Where are we?"
"...Are you really that stupid?"
Caridee huffed, "No, I know where we are, but where are we?"
"Huh?"
Blue met green in a gaze full of stupid jokes from one side and confusion from the other.
Caridee tried again, this time, rewording what she was trying to say, "I know we're at the beach, but does it have a funky name, or something?"
Tsukaimon looked at her tamer. And continued to look. The purple digimon flapped its' wings, "The beach?"
"Ha ha. Very funny." Sarcasm rolled off of her voice with ease, "I guess not then?"
"Not that I know of." Tsukaimon proceeded to dig a little in the sand as she waited for Cari to suggest they do something.
Caridee had followed Tsukaimon the whole way here. She wasn't sure where they were going, so she hadn't prepared for a day at the beach. She smiled slightly down at the digimon as it kicked sand up playfully. She figured she might as well have a little fun while there. With one quick sweep of her hands, her bangs were pulled back and she was beside her purple partner, patting at the ground in an attempt at making a sand castle.
Tsukaimon huffed batting at Cari with a wing, "That's not how you do it! You're doing it wrong!" It hopped infront of the brunette and began assisting her in making a sand castle.
---
The brunette blinked at the finished product and laughed a little, "I guess I was doing it wrong..."
"Well, yeah. Unless you were trying to make sand pancakes instead of a sand castle. Then you were right on."
Cari glared at the purple digimon, "You know? That was completely uncalled for. You're so mean to me sometimes, I swear..."
"And then you're mean right back." Tsukaimon grinned, "It's a mutual thing. If you suck, I suck, if I make good sand castles, you make good sand castles. If you're mean, I'm mean. It's an ongoing cycle."
Caridee grabbed her partner digimon around its' waist and tickled, "At least I'm not a purple potato."
Seemingly unphased by the tickling, the digimon rolled its' eyes, "No, but I'm not a pink marshmallow."
"Marshmallows are better than potatos."
"Potatos are more useful than marshmallows."
This argument kept going. They probably could have kept it up for hours, if it weren't for a certain noise that broke both of their concentration.
[[OoC// Consider this an open topic :D but, I don't know how this works, so I'm leaning on the next post probably more than I normally would]]
Koenjinn - March 8, 2008 02:22 AM (GMT)
"Help."
"Help help."
"Help help help."
"Help help help help."
What an odd noise indeed. It came from four Toucanmon atop the trees, who were looking down upon the duo bickering. They flapped their wings, before landing upon a small mound of sand. The one that landed on the mound was obviously the leader of them all.
"Hi."
"Hi hi."
"Hi hi hi."
"Hi hi hi hi."
It was rather funny and irritating to hear them speak, but it can't be helped. The other three simply had a habit of following what their leader had to say. They glanced at Caridee with their eyes, head tilted approximately thirty degrees to the left. They cawed once again. What a talkative bunch!
fishcakes - March 8, 2008 03:43 AM (GMT)
The pair glanced from the Toucanmon, to eachother, then back to the Toucanmon.
Tsukaimon raised an imaginary eyebrow and shook its' head.
Caridee, however, grinned, "Hi!" She honestly thought they were cute digimon, annoying, but cute.
Tsukaimon floated upwards and grabbed Caridee's face with her tiny hands, "What is wrong with you? If you talk back, they'll just talk more! Do you really want that?!"
The brunette furrowed her eyebrows and lightly tapped her purple partner's feet away, "They said they needed help, didn't you hear?" She turned to the Toucanmon and crossed her legs, staring down at it, "Can we do something to help you?"
Tsukaimon huffed and turned to put un-needed touches on the sand castle. She was quite a bit upset that her tamer didn't listen to her, but what could she do about it? Cari obviously wasn't as annoyed by the digimon as she was.
Koenjinn - March 8, 2008 03:53 AM (GMT)
The Leader Toucanmon grinned at the Tamer. Well, she offered her help, so it'd be a crime to not take her up on her offer. He flapped his wings before settling himself down in a more comfortable position. The remaining three echoed his movements, doing the exact same steps as the Toucanmon did.
"You see."
"You see, we need."
"You see, we need help to."
"You see, we need help to find nest."
So they were lost. An interesting predicament for birds, don't you think? The head grunted, before continuing his statement. He then said that there were seven members, and naturally, they had lost track of the other three, and thus, couldn't be a complete team.
"We."
"We are."
"We are altogether."
"We are altogether seven."
The team of Toucanmon glanced at Tsukaimon, and finally, the Tamer. "SO WHAT DO YOU SAY?" the four chanted simultaneously.
fishcakes - March 8, 2008 04:01 AM (GMT)
Tsukaimon mumbled something from her position behind the tamer as Caridee tried to put everything they said together, "So... You want me to help you find your nest and three other Toucanmon? Are the other Toucanmon at the nest, or will we have to find them along the way?"
The purple digimon came to sit on Cari's head, "Most likely the latter..."
"So you're going to help I take it?"
"I suppose, since I have no intention of staying alone on a beach..."
Caridee laughed slightly, but stood, Tsukaimon still sitting atop her brown locks.
She was still waiting for an answer, but she was still going to help, regardless of the mission. Sure, she didn't like people, but digimon weren't people. Not really, anyway.
Koenjinn - March 8, 2008 04:11 AM (GMT)
"We are."
"We are not sure."
"We are not sure; we never."
"We are not sure; we never are sure."
God. A flock of clueless Toucanmon finding another flock of possibly clueless Toucanmon. How good can life get? The leader of them all grinned, before introducing themselves with a song.
"Do~ a deer, a female deer~"
"Re~ a drop of golden sun~"
And then there was silence, for approximately two verses.
"So~ a needle pulling thread~"
"La~ a note to follow so~"
And then silence descended upon them all for a verse's time. When the time ended, Do glanced at them both. Now that the duo knew who the four fellows were, the birds looked at the Tsukaimon and Caridee with haunting, deep set eyes. They seemed to ask, what about you, girl within their eyes.
fishcakes - March 8, 2008 04:22 AM (GMT)
Tsukaimon huffed, obviously annoyed.
Caridee smiled softly up at the digimon and then turned her attention back to the Toucanmon, "I'm Caridee, but just Cari is fine." She pointed to her partner, "This is Tsukaimon. She isn't very nice to strangers, so just pay her no mind if she's being rude."
The purple digimon playfully slapped the side of her head with an outstretched wing.
Cari rolled her eyes and curtsied out of habit, "Nice to meet you. Uh... Do you know in which general direction your nest would be?"
"Cari? You need to realise that these digimon aren't the biggest peanuts in the digi-poo."
"That is the most disgusting thing I've ever heard."
"Yeah, well live with it."
Caridee laughed slightly, glancing back down at the digimon in need. This was going to be a long day indeed.
Koenjinn - March 8, 2008 04:33 AM (GMT)
"We don't know," Do said.
"Because we're lost," Re continued.
"You're helping us," began So.
"So where you do think?" La concluded.
The four looked at Tsukaimon, before beating their wings rhythmically and flying up to about Cari shoulder's height. The tropical bird Digimon clicked their beaks together, and broke into another verse of song. It probably was made-up by themselves, but it matched their predicament.
"Oh, we the lost~"
"The forgotten~"
"Wandering through the snow and frost~"
"Makes me wonder what will happen~"
Do, Re, So and La then looked at them both dolefully. One of them found herself wondering where Caridee would take them to. Re and La clicked their beaks to draw attention to themselves.
"We don't go to cold places," said Re.
"So we thought the beach would be best," La stated.
"Looking here would probably be wise," interjected So.
It seemed that they were a bunch of bumbling Toucanmon who just wanted to get home. No harm there, right?
fishcakes - March 8, 2008 04:48 AM (GMT)
Now Caridee was confused. They wanted help finding their nest, but they didn't know where it was. She looked up at Tsukaimon, "Something is..."
"Fishy?" Her partner finished.
"Hn... But, we told them we'd help, so..."
"Wrong, you told them we'd help."
Caridee lifted Tsukaimon from her head and held the digimon so they were eye to eye. The purple bat squirmed slightly and huffed, "Fine, fine." She squirmed a bit more and began tapping at the brunette's D-Ban. After a while, a map popped up of the area.
Tsukaimon pointed at an area on the map, "There should be a Toucanmon colony here. So, if we want to find other Toucanmon, we should go there first. Maybe it's their nest too."
"Doubtful. They said there were only seven, right?"
"Still worth a try."
"...Yeah."
Tsukaimon took her place on Cari's head once more while the girl smiled at the Toucanmon, "Alright. Lets go."
Koenjinn - March 8, 2008 04:57 AM (GMT)
As if some random force was propelling them, the four Toucanmon burst into song again. The avians halted in their tracks as they began to say:
"Fish, you say, Cari?" Do began.
"You know, phishing is not done on a boat," Re continued.
"And spam is no luncheon meat," So grinned.
"So be careful when you are surfing the Internet," warned La.
They looked on with an interested expression when the small map popped up from Caridee's D-Ban. There was then some discussions of a Toucanmon colony, and then, La chose to dash their hopes by saying, "We just migrated here. So we are not tied to any colony."
Party pooper.
fishcakes - March 8, 2008 05:09 AM (GMT)
"That's no reason we can't see if your- wait... what?"
Cari seemed to feel exactly what her partner had caught onto, "If you just migrated here, how can you already have a nest? You would think you'd at least be aquainted with the colony by now."
Tsukaimon looked harshly down at the bird digimon, "Maybe it's better if we let them confuse someone else, Caridee."
A look of hurt crossed the brunette's face, "...Maybe..." She frowned, "I still feel like we should at least help find the other three before leaving though..."
"Cari," Tsukaimon warned, a cross look on her face.
"Please, Tsukaimon? I promise we can leave as soon as we help find the other three Toucanmon."
"..." The purple digimon sighed in defeat and rolled her large green eyes, "Let's hurry and start looking."
Cari clapped, "Yay!" She brushed her bangs behind her ears and grinned, "So.... Where did you last see your... Mi, Fa, and Ti? Did I get their names right?"
Koenjinn - March 8, 2008 05:15 AM (GMT)
"Yes, you did," Re smiled.
"And by migrated, we did that last week," Do clarified.
"So it would make sense that we have a nest," La continued.
"I guess we last saw them singing together with us, higher up this strip of beach," So sighed.
The Toucanmon glanced at Tsukaimon, feeling that she was really being unnecessarily harsh to them all. But if they were to find their lost partners, they'd just have to take it in their stride.
-------
Meanwhile, the other three were basking under the sun, somewhere lower down the strip of beach, and they were practising their singing skills. They had a performance to show later into the night in the Graveyard. They had to sing something to show respect to the dead...
fishcakes - March 8, 2008 05:27 AM (GMT)
"So they'd still be on the beach!"
Tsukaimon huffed, "I'm glad you came to this conclusion shurlock, now can we get moving? We're wasting precious daylight."
"Hai~" Caridee began to walk in a random direction on the beach, not sure which way higher and lower were, but assumed to follow sand no matter what. She skipped slightly in a first step, but swayed the rest of the way. The Toucanmon had gotten her into a sing-song mood.
Tsukaimon was gripped her tamer's hair lightly so she wouldn't get randomly thrown off during her random happy mood, "I like you better when we argue."
Caridee sighed blissfully, "I'd like you better if you'd breath and have fun."
"...Touche."
Koenjinn - March 8, 2008 05:47 AM (GMT)
The Toucanmon eagerly toddled after Caridee and Tsukaimon; it did not occur to them that flying was a better option. Meanwhile, a pair of eyes followed their movements from the skies...
-------
"What shall we sing tonight?" Mi asked sweetly.
"Hang on, Do, Re, So and La are missing!" Ti roared out of sheer shock.
"To mourn them, we'll sing Auld Lang Syne," Fa said with a sad look on her face.
fishcakes - March 8, 2008 05:59 AM (GMT)
Caridee stretched and yawned loudly. The sun was really getting to her, and it was obvious. They'd been walking for quite a while now, though Tsukaimon was already passed out on her head, tired from the heat as well as the relaxing sound of the waves carressing the beach.
She smiled hopefully at the Toucanmon, "Hear anything song-like yet?"
She was hoping they caught something she didn't. The brunette was tired of walking, and carrying a heavy purple potato on her head.
Koenjinn - March 8, 2008 06:08 AM (GMT)
"Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And auld lang syne?
For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne.
We'll take a cup o' kindness yet,
For auld lang syne."
Three Toucanmon sang in perfect sync, mourning the loss of their four friends. It never occurred to them to look.
-------
"Sounds...sad," Do remarked as he heard the other three singing. Naturally, he did not know who was singing that, but he felt sad when he heard the song. It seemed like someone was mourning. His feathered companions nodded.
A Thunderbirmon, who had been scouting the area for prey, had targeted the purple 'potato' as a prime target. He swooped down, cawing. "Spark Wing!" A rain of thunderbolts shot down unto the beach, sending the Toucanmon into a frenzy.
"CARI! BATTLE!" they called, before taking up their positions and began to sing in order to fit the battling mood right now. Or rather, the thunder avian's battling mood.
"Go now, if you want it
An otherworld awaits you
Don't you give up on it
You bite the hand that feeds you
All alone, cold fields you wander
Memories of it, cloud your sight
Fills your dreams, disturbs your slumber
Lost your way, a fallen knight
Hold now, aim is steady
An otherworld awaits you
One thousand years, you ready?
The otherworld, it takes you."
fishcakes - March 8, 2008 07:56 PM (GMT)
Caridee fell forward slightly, causing Tsukaimon to roll off of her head and onto the sand. She laughed slightly, but after she realised what was going on, she didn't find it funny.
She went to gather the Toucanmon together, "A-Alright! Go towards the singing and we'll t-take care of this!"
Tsukaimon spit out sand as she floated upwards slightly, "If you make me too tired, I'll kill you."
"Nn... Okay then..." She pulled out a card, "Can you handle it while I get these guys to safety?"
Tsukaimon nodded, and spun in an attempt to get up to the Thunderbirmon quicker.
_____________
Name: Snake Fang
Number: R54
Type: Weapon
Duration: Remainder of the battle
Effect: The user’s Digimon gains large snake-like fangs that secrete venom. The first successful hit with these fangs will cause your opponent to lose five points of health every turn and nullify the effects of speed or strength upgrade cards. Any regeneration or healing card will stop this effect from continuing.
_____________
Tsukaimon hissed as fangs grew in her awkwardly large mouth, and went after the thunder bird digimon.
"...Come on." She ushered the Toucanmon in the direction they'd heard singing. She'd come back to help Tsukaimon once they were a safe distance away.
Koenjinn - March 9, 2008 02:04 AM (GMT)
"Spark Wing!" screeched the Thunderbirmon, sending the bolts on his wings down towards the ground, and just where Tsukaimon was heading up to. Whether it was intentional or not intentional, the point was that it was hungry, and priority laid in the Tsukaimon's succulent flesh. Maybe, just maybe, the Toucanmon would ail his stomach pretty well too, and if he still wasn't satiated, Caridee would have to be eaten as well.
Do, Re, So and La found themselves being ushered towards their companions. Knowing nothing, and wanting to know nothing, they followed the Tamer towards...somewhere.
-------
"Battle!" Mi squawked, before taking flight and heading up the beach some more, the other Toucanmon with her following at once. They weren't going to risk that; they had spirits to quell in the Graveyard tonight! Rehearsal was spoilt, but that was alright -- they were intact, and that was at the top of their to-do list.
It seems like they were all playing a never-ending game of tag. But sooner or later the game will end...
fishcakes - April 5, 2008 12:02 AM (GMT)
Caridee stumbled slightly as she glanced back to see if her partner digimon was alright. She wasn't one who particularly liked the fact that Tsukaimon was about to become a fried potato. But what could she possibly do? A few different emotions crossed her expressions before she just assumed let Tsukaimon handle herself for another five minutes. Then she'd come back, ready to aid her.
Tsukaimon went as instructed, quite unsure of how to avoid the thunderbolts. In all of her confusion, she ended up face first in one of the nasty blows, and went spiraling downward, and quickly.
[[OoC// @-x bleck. Sorry about the short post.]]
Koenjinn - April 9, 2008 12:24 PM (GMT)
OOC: Gosh, sorry for lateness...
IC:
Thunderbirmon squawked, before sending another bout of his lightning down upon the earth. "Try this, potato! Spark Wing!" he shouted. Apparently Caridee wasn't the only one who thought that Tsukaimon was a potato. "Spark Wing!" the avian Digimon called again, this time, sending a streak of thunder towards the waddling birds.
-------
This time, as the team of three heard the cries of battle, Mi, who evidently was the current leader of the small party, turned around, and subsequently was followed by her companions. "Something needs our help!" she sang, and took flight. Yes, she was going to help them. No, she wasn't trying to kill herself.
"...it might eat us up," Ti offered, much to the chagrin of Fa. The Toucanmon soared into the air, but all the same, instead of heading downwards and away from the combatants that were at it, the avian headed after Mi, reluctance shimmering within his eyes.
-------
There was a pregnant pause, and then La suddenly piped up, calling, "Mi! Mi, is that you?" The remaining three perked up, and glanced ahead, then at Caridee. If it really was their friends, well, a certain girl would be thanked profusely...
fishcakes - April 10, 2008 03:59 PM (GMT)
There was no possible way Tsukaimon could beat Thunderbirmon at its' current stage. Caridee was fully aware of this, and on top of all of that, two of the Toucanmon were heading beak first into danger. This was when she heard a different tone of Toucanmon. She glanced in the direction she was already headed and bit down on her bottom lip. What was a girl to do? She quickly flipped through her cards, and one in particular caught her eye. Maybe, just maybe, this was what Tsukaimon needed.

Effect: Causes the affected Digimon to evolve to its Perfect (Ultimate) level, regardless of DEP, with or without a Crest/Blue Card/Digisoul. They will revert to their Baby II (In-Training) level after three turns.
_____________________________________
She swiped it and watched her beloved purple potato evolved into something quite a bit larger. Granted, the power boost would only last three turns, but that was good enough for the situation at hand.
"Tsukaimon...?!!"
The small digimon was now a tall woman, or demon rather. She shook her head, knowing she had at least helped a little and continued to usher the Toucanmon left with her in the direction of the voice.
-----
Ladydevimon. Wonderful. The digimon would have probably let it really register if she were in any other situation, but she was a tiny bit distracted by the fact that lightning bolts were being sent in her general direction.
After a wave of her red-clawed hand, the digimon shouted, "Darkness wave!"
This sent a cloud of darkness, and what looked to be tiny bats, toward the enemy, hoping it would connect before the Toucanmon were able to arrive.
[[OoC// I hope that's okay x.@]]
Koenjinn - April 12, 2008 06:36 AM (GMT)
OOC: I'm making up Thunderstorm's effect here, so if you have the real description to it, please tell me, kay?
IC:
"Marble Marble!" seven voice called, as each Toucanmon pelted the Thunderbirmon with marbles the size of a ping pong ball. It wouldn't exactly hurt, but getting showered by a large amount would probably feel like a hammer. "Marble Marble!" they called again, and another bout of marbles rushed out of their mouths and towards the bird.
As the blue avian flew higher and higher to avoid the poorly-aimed attacks by the seven Toucanmon, he couldn't help but notice that a light had began to engulf what appeared to be a purple potato (and his meal) a minute ago. From the light bloomed a demon lady, and she didn't look too happy.
A wave of bats was heading Thunderbirmon's way, and without any need to tell him what was going to happen, he immediately tried to avoid the attack. In the end, he was no match for a Perfect levelled-Digimon at his stage, thus the bird fell to the ground with a thud, but he wasn't quite out of it yet.
"Thunderstorm!" he called out in a last-ditch attempt to try and get at Lady Devimon. The skies began to rumble, and bolts of lightning crashed down on the ground. He wasn't going down, not when he could still attack...
fishcakes - April 14, 2008 04:38 PM (GMT)
[[OoC// Sorry for the wait ;^__^ and I have no idea either xD]]
Caridee blinked, unsure of why the Toucanmon were attacking when they barely stood a chance, but then she smiled slightly. They were helping. And what was she doing? Nothing. She stared up at Ladydevimon and sighed deeply.
Ladydevimon was unphased by the sound of rumbling thunder overhead. She frowned deeper, however, when thunderbolts began to fly downwards. She had Toucanmon and a human to protect. This wasn't going to make her cause any easier. She flew towards the fallen digimon and reached out, "Darkeness Spear!" The red claws on her hand spun into a large one, and she struck him, hoping this would end the attack that was currently slowing her down quite a bit.
Koenjinn - April 17, 2008 07:50 AM (GMT)
Thunderbirmon screeched in pain, wings beating, flailing against the ground, but to no avail. His eyes narrowed, and a shriek escaped his beak. A final thunderbolt rocked the strip of beach in a last ditch attempt to get rid of Lady Devimon; if she was not fated to be his lunch, she shall be another Digimon's lunch!
The seven Toucanmon opened their beaks again, sending shots of marbles toward Thunderbirmon. Just as the Marble Marble attacks hammered into the frame of the avian, the spear attack too pierced the feathery hide of Thunderbirmon, thus ending its current lifespan.
Caridee Gained: 0.1 DEP, the Common card Vice Shout and 50$.
"You were great, Caridee!" Do sang, flying towards the girl, a smile on his face.
"Superb performance," Re complimented.
fishcakes - May 6, 2008 11:22 PM (GMT)
[[OoC// sorry :[ I didn't mean to take so long, I feel like I'm letting you down by not being active. I'm just really stressed out right now.]]
Caridee sank to her knees as LadyDevimon became Pagumon once again, "I didn't even do anything. That was all her." She shook her head and stood long enough to catch the in training digimon, "Guess we have to start over, huh?"
"Nah. I'll be able to go back to being Tsukaimon soon." The grey digimon grinned, its' red eyes narrowing, "Are you worried?"
"...No."
They both laughed a little bit, then looked at the Toucanmon, "Well... You found your friends again!" Caridee hugged the Pagumon tightly, "Aren't you glad we decided to help?"
"You mean that you made me help? HA. You're /so/ funny."
The brunette bopped her digimon partner on the head and laughed.
Koenjinn - May 7, 2008 01:16 AM (GMT)
OOC: 's okay. As long as you come back ^^
IC:
The seven Toucanmon laughed. "Sure, no problem," Do chanted as he looked at the duo. "Anyway, it was really cool of you guys to help, and I mean it," stated the avian as he looked at them, "but even though we'd love to stay and sing a song or two, we really must go."
"Adieu, Caridee and partner!" Re said in a friendly manner as the sevenfold of birds took off into the sunset skies.
fishcakes - May 8, 2008 11:48 PM (GMT)
Caridee waved to the Toucanmon with her free arm, as her other arm was hlding Pagumon, "Bye! Good luck!"
"..."
"They were nice."
"Nah. Just innocent." Pagumon eyed her tamer, "Or is brainless a better word?"
"Oh, you. Stop that."She laughed and bopped her digimon playfully on the head.
Koenjinn - May 9, 2008 07:36 AM (GMT)
OOC: Do you want anything else to happen? If the answer's no then I'll lock this thread. ^^
