Well, I wanted to make something really cool yesterday, and since I've been reading a lot of Negima! manga lately, I thought making a pactio card of Adras would do nicely. It turned out to be a lot more work than I thought, but it was SO MUCH FUN. After changing templates twice, and downloading a new graphics manipulating program, I finally started getting some work done. Before I knew it, I had been up all night working, and I had this to show for it. It has a few little problems, and the latin probably isn't perfect, but it's still cute enough I want to eat it up!

So, here I am thinking I want to do it again, and Ryuha and Tsuki's various partners will all be covered eventually, but I want to share the love. Also, it will be nice to do colors other than blue and silver, as well as virtues other than pride and purity. If you don't know Negima, don't worry, these pactio cards should be plenty of fun for you too. Since they're all about partnership, and they have a spot born and bred for one's crest/digimental virtue, they're a pretty good fit for DD too.

Of course, while I'm dying to make these for people, I'll need a substantial amount of information to fill up all those slots. First of all, I'll need a picture of your digimon in the form they rest in/spend the most time in. In most cases this will of course be child level. I insist you pick your own picture, because it's more personal that way, but a picture that shows their whole body clearly is by far the best route to go.

I'll also need the following. As these all appear on the cards.

Number: The card number will be your member number on the board. I can get this on my own, so don't worry about it.

Tonus (Color): Fairly self explanatory. Just the color that best qualifies as the signature color of your tamer/digimon/team.

Astralitas: Pick between the planets of our solar system (excluding earth) as well as the sun and moon. If you need a guideling, think of the relevance of the ancient roman god of the same name.

Virtus (Virtue): Your crest/digimental, easy.

Directio (Direction): North, South, East, West, or Center. The significance of this is rather esoteric, so use whatever method you want to pick. I've already got all the translations for these, so don't worry about Latinizing them.

Title: A frank, ~two-worded statement of the digimon's personality and/or abilities. If you could somehow get this translated into Latin yourself, I'd much appreciate the effort you'd save me.

Negima is published in the english speaking world by Del Rey. It may or may not be something you'd enjoy. I mostly read it for a few of the side-stories, and for the amazing character design.

Don't worry. I don't know about Koen and Lai, but I used a single word translator program. http://www.archives.nd.edu/cgi-bin/wordes.exe is the best I've found so far.

Of course you can request more than one, in fact feel encouraged. It will of course take time, and I'll prioritize doing something for everyone over doing everything for one person, but more cards to do is not at all objectionable to me.

Oh, and the translation of "Soft Guardian" I'll be using is "Malacus Curator"

All right, I've finished my first draft of the Furunii card. I'm sorry Koen, I tried using the picture you picked, but it was too big, and even a milimeter of resizing ruined it. I used this clean and easy to work with card picture instead. If yuo like it, good. If you don't like it, we can work together to pick another one.

Wow, I wasn't really expecting to find another fan of Mahou Sensei Negima on this site, and I really wasn't expecting it to be you, Ryuha. Though it has an excellent story, which is why I read it...I'm not entirely sure you'd enjoy it either, actually...but, if you don't want to bother with the actual English publications by Del Rey, One Manga has the scanlated versions up to date...the current arc is just amazing.

But, yes, time for the details of the first of many, many pactio cards for me. It's not for Kid, though, but rather for Magister.

I appreciate the effort, Koen, but...I just don't think that particular image would fit the character, that's all.

I understand why you like these DeviantArt pictures Koen. They are very cool after all, but they're darn near impossible to work with. The color schemes are also usually far too dark to fit in with the pactio template. Could you at least dig around the card terminal a bit and see if you like anything there?

I can’t believe I didn’t think about this as I requested it, but I love the way the orange text/circles, blue character and yellow-beige background look together. This is going straight onto my pendrive, then to my ImageShack, as soon as I find the former.

You deserve a tip for this:

The only flaw I see here is the presence of a few white blotches you missed when cutting out the image, but I’m pretty sure I can fix those myself on PSP8 if it’d be too much trouble for you.

Also, since requesting my card I’ve realised… in Latin, don’t adjectives come after nouns? Isn’t it also gender-specific, like the Romance languages? I’ll give you (and Koen, Laiko, Fangren, Zander and Cleo) the benefit of this doubt, though, since I like my finished product too much to ruin it with a technicality.

Ryuha, these are very adorable! And you do such an amazing job. It looks like the pictures actually belong there on the cards. I wish I knew enough about Negima to understand it though. I've seen the show once before at a friends house and I thought it was an adorable series! ^^ I'll have to try and find it on the internet. But for now, I wouldn't mind a card too, if you didn't mind. If you have too many going on right now, then don't worry about it.
