Title: Thank God it's Thanksgiving!

Schmegkopf - November 22, 2007 09:43 PM (GMT)
In order to celebrate this popular American holiday I know next to nothing about, I’ve cooked up (if you pardon the pun) a couple of special items for you to claim:

CODE
[B]Pack of Turkey Drumsticks[/B]
Five high-quality, succulent turkey legs expertly foil wrapped to ensure they never spoil or go mouldy in any way for as long as they remain in their package. When eaten by a Digimon, they restore up to 40 points of health, but can be consumed little by little to prolong their usefulness – so that eating a quarter of a drumstick would restore 10 points of health, eating half would restore 20, and so on. They also increase the consumer’s physical strength and attack power (be they human or Digimon) by 25% each for five turns, but also induce a slight sleepy feeling, reducing the consumer’s concentration and speed by about 20% for four turns.

[B]Tin of Cranberry Sauce[/B]
Quite literally exactly what it says on the tin: contained in a vessel about the size of a can of beans, this very sweet-tasting but nutritious cranberry sauce is intended to add flavor to a turkey but can also be served on its own. Eating about a teaspoon of its contents is enough to restore 15 points of a Digimon’s health and increase their speed and alertness by about 10% each for six posts – in theory, eating the entire can at once could restore a Digimon to full health instantly while doubling their speed – but its stickiness coupled with the need for a can opener makes it awkward to eat on the go, unless you either bought along a spoon or don’t object to eating it straight from the tin somehow.

Also, some re-released cards from the old DD site for your enjoyment (I have admin permission to do this):

CODE
[b]Name[/b]: [u]Turkey Suit[/u]
[b]Number[/b]: P24
[b]Type[/b]: Single Target
[b]Duration[/b]: Two Turns
[b]Effect[/b]: The affected Digimon acquires and wears a turkey suit, forcing all opposing Digimon to laugh uncontrollably, preventing them from attacking and giving the user’s partner(s) an opening.

[b]Name[/b]: [u]Pilgrims and Indians[/u]
[b]Number[/b]: P25
[b]Type[/b]: Weapon
[b]Duration[/b]: Until arrows are used up
[b]Effect[/b]: The user’s Digimon acquires a pilgrim hat, a bow and three arrows, which will each deal an amount of damage double that of a regular attack from the user (if they hit).

These for fabulous prizes can be yours if you post in this thread between now and November 30th saying who or what you are most thankful for.

I am thankful for my health, my mum and her forgiving, tolerant nature, my art and writing talents, my not-rich-but-well-off status, and of course, for finding DD. :^,^: Yeah, it’s cliché to say that, but this site and its people have literally changed my life for the better in more than one way, and though I’ve said that before, I was not saying it lightly those times and I’m not saying it lightly this time.

Another thing I’m thankful for is the presence of the art of animation on this planet… so now I’m off to watch Bart vs. Thanksgiving~ :¦D:

I'm thankful for a lot of things. For one, i'm thankful for my girlfriend. Whe always puts up with me through thick and thin.

I'm thankful for my family and for my friends, each and every one of them.

I'm actually thankful for everyone i've ever met, because they have changed my view of life or opinions about things.

I'm thankful that we in the U.S. have the freedom to celebrate holidays such as this, and for the soldiers fighting for that freedom.

I'm thankful for all the RPGs that keep me out of boredom, indluding DD to a large extent.

Finally, i'm thankful for all of the things that have shaped my life into what it is now. I'm not very talented in anything in particular and I could change even more, but I would notchange what I have and what i've become for anything else in the world.

Yay, free stuff! ^^

I'm most thankful for my Dad. He's always there and preventing my Mother have having her daily meltdowns (She's kinda overemotional...) and helping me with all my schoolwork.

I'm grateful I survived that car crash way back, and that my older sis finally had her baby wihtout any complications Monday.

Finally, I'm thankful that my freaking computer is fianlly virus and spyware free, so it actually works again!!!

That about sums it up.

I'm thankful for my friends and family, both their faults and their virtues. I'm thankful for this community, so much that I can barely understand it myself. I'm thankful to live in the country that I do, despite it's obvious flaws. I'm thankful for national holidays, for brining loved ones together and giving me the time I need to do things I like.

I've had plenty of things today to not be thankful for unfortunately. ^^;; But I am most thankful for my family, my school (considering that I only had five minutes of class today XD), the internet and all the wonderful people that I've met on it.

And of course, thankful for this thread too and the wonderful gifts it's giving us. ^^

The beauty of music, my health, my friends. Possibly my sanity, but the jury's still out on whether I have any of that left right now.

Thankful for being alive another year...lol

Aqua-Chan - November 26, 2007 04:09 PM (GMT)
Wow, what lovely gifts you have here GH. ^^

As for what I'm most thankful for, I'd definetly have to say: Friends. Why is that? Well because if I didn't have my friends to pick me up during the sadder moments of my life I'd be one very sad and depressed girl.

Not to mention having them when there were so many good times to be had as well. ^_^

And I certainly can't forget my friends here at DD. You guys certainly have a lot of patience to put up with someone like me. What with my computer being riddled with problems and my still struggling writing skills.

All in all, that's what I'm most thankful. Having my friends (both online and real life) in my life.
