Footsteps could be heard stepping up a short flight of stairs that lead onto a large concrete platform. Making their way up these stairs was a female tamer looking no more than fifthteen with a Kotemon close at her side.

"This tournament thing will be a great way to meet some new faces." The girl remaked.

Kodi nodded. "Yeah, not to mention a great way to gain more battle experience for the two of us. I just hope my opponent won't be too much of a challenge."

"I'm sure they won't be, Kodi. Just do your best, I'll be right there helping you all the way."

Once the reached the stone platform, Lexi took her place at one end of the battfield, just as she would have done during any other opponent training battle. The little warrior took his place infront of his female tamer, with his kendo sword drawn he stood ready and waiting for their intended opponent to arrive.

[Pardon the Delay, if you would. I spent the last few days clearing up bullshit in RL..No fun for me until now, but the bull is rather defeated]

Lucas stepped into the challenge area, Pinamon atop his shoulder, his chest feathers ruffled high and proud as he tried to look like something other than an irresistibly cute ball of fluff. Seeing his actions fail as Lucas laughed, Pinamon dropped into a more serious gesture, although few could take the fluffy digimon seriously. Lucas knew this could be both potentially powerful, and, at the same time, it weakened him. He could not play to the fear side, but hopefully he could emerge as an underdog winner.

"Pinamon, are you ready? I doubt they'll go easy on us. It'll take both of us to win. They think size matters...I say we can win!" Lucas said, stalking into the arena Pinamon didn't leave his shoulder as he spotted their opponents. "Oi! I'm Lucas, this is Pinamon." he called to her, waving a hand. If he was going to play the underdog card..he would do it with all flags flying. He would make her think him too friendly to even conduct battle...a psychological attack would be the most effective here. Now, however, he merely had to gauge her reaction...

(It's alright, I'm facing some Rl crap myself, mainly over my internet connection...)

"Nice to meet you Lucas, I'm Lexi. The little guy beside me is Kodi."

Lexi noded to the boy across the battlefield whilst Kodi bowed to Pinamon in respect.

"Nice meeting you, Pinamon. May the best digimon win." Even before a big battle, the Kotemon still showed his respect to his opponent.

With that said, Kodi dashed out into battle with his kendo sword pointed at Pinamon. Flames soon engulfed the wooden blade and the child digimon jumped to the air to give himself the best possible way of attacking.

"Hot Head!" Kodi cried upon coming down on the falcon digimon.

While Kodi was starting things off, his tamer looked to her card deck for any possible strategies she could use to give her partner the edge he may need later on. For now, she would have to study how Lucas handled the situation and aided his partner.

Kotemon's assault wasn't a very large threat...Lucas had faced twice as bad and worse before. No matter what, he had to be on his feet as his hand dove into his card holder, pulling forth the card he knew he needed. Without pausing in the slightest, Lucas jammed the card into the end of his D-Ban. "Modify...Charge!" he yelled, his D-Ban turning the card into data, turning it white, using Lucas's own card-slashing battle cry. "Lightning Agility, Activate!" He called, and Pinamon leapt backwards with speeds it didn't have only a few moments before, the brain synapses firing at an incredible rate, filling Pinamon's body with faster reflexes, heightened speed, and who knew what else. It was more than enough to move away from the Kotemon.

"Alright! Cool him off, Pinamon! Power Freeze, Activate!" Lucas called, and suddenly Pinamon gained a vast amount of energy inside of him, all of it filled to the brim with icy powers. He knew the boost was only temporary, so he used his knew speed to zip around to Kotemon's side, hoping he hadn't recovered from his missed strike with his flaming sword. Pinamon opened his mouth and spewed forth a large layer of frosty ice, hoping to encase the Kotemon and end the fight quickly.

Lucas knew it wouldn't be that easy...

"He's good, really good. This'll make the battle more interesting, or even harder."

Lexi thought as she shuffled through her cards, soon enough she found the two she had been looking for and figured would best work for this situation.

She looked up to find Pinamon about to spray Kodi with a shower of ice. The Kotemon tried to escape, but his enemy had been quicker and ice had been showered upon one of his long sleeves, the chill of the ice still escaped to his arm.

"I've gotta act fast!" Taking the two cards she selected, the girl slashed them through th device on her arm.

"Card Slash! Inner Child and Blitz!"

As soon as the first card activated, Kodi leapt backward to distance himself from Pinamon. It resulted with him leaping higher in the air that he had anticipated, he was well enough off the ground that the faclon's ice attack had missed!

However, Kodi felt a sudden burst of speed. He had no doubt it was the effects of a card being used to enhance him. When he landed on the ground again, he dashed for Pinamon with his flame covered sword.

"Hot head!" Kodi cried, slashing the bird digimon with his sword.

But he wasn't finished yet, he still had a chance to pull a second attack. Beneith one of his long sleeves, his hand was being charged with lighting. When it was charged enough, he curled his hand into a fist and punched at Pinamon. "Thunder Kote!"

Pinamon looked up, its enhanced reflexes more than enough to dodge the flaming sword. Thinking it safe, Pinamon searched for openings, only to find itself flung backwards, the force of the punch sending it reeling. He had no clue the second attack was coming, and neither did Lucas. Both were taken by utter and total surprise.

"She's good...this might be quite interesting." Lucas couldn't help but think as he reached down to snatch up another card for use. "Pinamon, keep up your strength!" he yelled as he slammed in another card. "Modify...Charge! Meat, Activate!" was the command that caused a large piece of meat to materialize in front of Pinamon, who gobbled it up like a quick snack. Immediately, his veins flashed, bulging in his body before subsiding, and his adrenaline spiked. "Now you get the picture, Pinamon! One more card!" Lucas called, and another card was slammed into the D-Ban. "Modify, Charge! Twilight Lullaby, Activate!"

The next action would cement the tide of the battle. Pinamon opened its mouth...and the clearest, most beautiful song began to ring from its mouth, bouncing around the arena. The melodic notes homed in on Kotemon, hopefully lulling him into a sleep that would remain unbroken. Pinamon rared up for the attack. "At five times power! Go!" Lucas spurred, and Pinamon charged, backed by Lightning Agility.

"Piri Piri Spark!" It yelled, swinging a tail feather at the hopefully dozing Kotemon, a shock to its senses that won't soon be forgotten...

(Sadly, as much as I would love to continue this battle and see it through, I haven't had the time to really reply to this.

Because of my internet still being as sucky as ever and now my time online being even moreso limited no thanks to my brother's love for The Sims, I'm going to have to drop out of the tournament.

So, go ahead and allow Lucas to move on for Lexi forfeits this battle and the tournament for that matter. I simply have no time to really get involved with this so I'm sorry...)
