Here's my review of Scarface: Power. Money. Respect. for PSP
Game play: 7.5/10This game is no free roam game like Liberty City Stories, but it's a pretty good strategy game for PSP. And it's also simple, yet challenging. Your main objective is to take over the streets of Miami and sell your drugs. There are two different kinds of sing player, Movie Scenarios (story mode) and Cartel Challenge. In story mode you are given a certain object (ex. You have wipe someone off the map). It's called Movie Scenario because your playing through Tony Montana's biggest busts. And every time you beat a Scenario you get a reward (a cut-scene from Scarface). In the Cartel Challenge there are three modes you can play. They are Race to a fortune, Drug war, and one where you have to take all the turf on Miami. You just use the tactics you learned in the Movie Scenarios to beat the Cartel Challenges. And if you beat a Cartel Challenge you unlock a new character to play with and a new Scarface wallpaper you can save on your PSP!
Graphics: 5.5/10What were you expecting, Xbox 360 graphics? The graphics are good enough for a strategy game and could use some work. But you don't really need graphics for commanding thugs do you?
Multi player: 8.5/10It's the same game play as single player but with co-op mode! It's really fun to grab a few friends and start stealing each others turfs and selling drugs. But sadly there is only Ad-Hoc, no Infrastructure.
Camera: 6/10The overhead view is good for planning your strategy. But when you enter combat mode, the camera just keeps moving and moving around. Sometimes its good and sometimes its bad.
Sound: 8/10The sound is an awesome part about this game. You'll have Tony Montana drop the F bomb on every sentence he says. There is so much cursing that I suggest you wear headphones. The sound is great but the cursing can get repetitive.
Controls: N/AThere's no button mashing, just a simple push the X button and move the use the D-Pad kind of game.
Replay ValueIt won't be very fun after you beat both the Cartel Challenges and the Movie Scenarios. But the co-op play will live forever, you won' get tired of it if you have friends to play with.
OverallScarface isn't one of the best games for PSP, but it's worth renting or buying it pre-owned. With it's good game play and co-op, it will have you taking over the Miami drug business in no time.
Final Score:
7.5/10
