Title: Bircked PSP!

DoteStudios - November 6, 2006 01:31 AM (GMT)
I have officially bricked my PSP and now i can't play the GTA VCS that I just bought before it happened! Now I have to get a free brand new one next week and I'll miss out on everything! What happened was when I got VCS I had devhook for v2 to v1.5 and when it said 2.8 was needed I was updating the PSP but I got worried I would never be able to use LCS CD so I turned the PSP off and now it won't turn on so I assume it is bricked since the charger is plugged in and when it turns on the screen stays black then turns off.

P.S. Guys I get pissed easily sometimes so I freak out so I am sorry to D:C and V for whatever happened in the last fight.

Thanks! But does anyone know if there is a reason the PSP bricks so easily? Because if I had the AC adapter not plugged in (I was in a car) why the PSP killed itself.

Note: It is charged
It has a good battery
I only got it last December
It has no viruses or anything on it
All the downloaded stuff on it have always worked

you don't need the ac pluged in the baqttery just has to be above 50%

and the reason it bricks is becuz you turned off the power when it was del.in the old firmware befor it had the chance to either put that fw back in or change it to 2.81 so basicly your psp just doesn't have a firmware aka bricked

FUCK! I love my PSP and now right when I got VCS today I can't use itand haven't even used it! I wish I could go back in time to fix this. I have to wait a week and by then everyone will think I'm a noob with all the questions on how to use the CD for VCS and how to make cheats. Man this sucks ass!

I accidently hit the update icon for VCS, and as soon I saw the .pmf play I was like "OMFG!" I pulled the battery immediately, and when I put it back in, and hit the switch the psp didn't turn on.
turned out I didn't have the battery in all the way, so when I put the back cap on it worked fine. :D

I would of never pulled the battery during the update though, that's just stupid...

LOL.

Vette you should stay calm, when you press it, it explains whats on the firmwire at any time you can press home and exit.
No need to yank out the battery..:P

Dote, unlucky man. Next time read your PSP manuel.
[sarcasm]
Send it to sony and say your brother pulled it out whilst updating, and that its a design fault that it messes up due to one little thing, and that if your psp is not refunded you will take a then to court..=D

[sarcasm/]

andrewtr89 - November 6, 2006 03:08 PM (GMT)
It must still have the warranty sticker though, if you want it fixed for free.

doliver911 - November 6, 2006 05:30 PM (GMT)
LOL. Do you not know that in the middle of an upgrade you will instantly brick if you turn it off??? Even I know that........

Vii - November 6, 2006 05:35 PM (GMT)
See even doliver knows that!

I may be wrong though...

It goes through the safety precautions: Battery Level, AC Adapter..etc
Then goes through the TOS
Then asks if your sure you want to upgrade.

DoteStudios - November 15, 2006 12:08 AM (GMT)
My friend has a good FW2.00 PSP and I told him not to upgrade. He has a bunch of 2.8 games but doesn't want to upgrade so I am going to ask him if he wants my brand new one for his old crappy one that can use the CD. So I hope this all ends well unless his parents want it back. He usually likes the trades we make. I really hope he wants my PSP he doesn't care about FW since he can't have GTA LCS or VCS.

Okay, here is a little tip. I've done it several times with clueless kids that dont know anything. Ask to borrow his PSP (over night preferrably). Once you get it, downgrade it to 1.5. If it doesnt brick, take off the faceplate, and replace it with the other PSP's faceplate. Unless there are noticeable differences on the back/sides/he knows about firmware) he will never notice the difference, and when you return it, he will think its his instead of yours. Pure Genius!

Oh yeah...If it bricks while downgrading, tell him you got it and it wouldnt turn on. He will instinctively think the battery is dead and not your fault. Gosh, I love talking to myself. :hammer:
