yeah.
we can still view the source of the page and get the direct link.
can javascript or php be used to display a flash file?
if so, then you could use a few linked php and javascript files to display it.
it's harder to get to the linked javascript files since the source only gives you the html.
but some extensions for firefox can retrieve and display them
just make better locks.

Or alternatively make a server based password check. Either connecting flash to the server or just use a HTML form.

well i could make better locks, or i couldn't... most people, won't decompile em... because they either, don't wanna download a decompiler illegally, or dont have one, and don't know how to get one.
and the free decompilers don't decompile actionscript.
but my next one is AWESOME!!! its easy to cheat if you decompile it, but if you dont, theres no way around it. and if you get the password wrong it sends a cookie and bans you from opening the flash. i know thats easy to undo but its cool!! its really cool. and if you want the action script don't decompile it, i will send it to you.
and i have another question. if in the flash file i didn't write the password i wrote it in a txt document and linked them up, would you still be able to get the password?
OFFTOPIC:
this might have already been thought of but,
i got an idea how to beat a decompiler but i don't know if it will work.
but i don't want to share this idea with others because if the idea gets out then hackers will find a way around it... so if you know actionscript (it might also take java) pm me or ddm can you make me a topic and put a password on it, (like the svc video recorder topic) and give the usual people that come here the password.. i dont want no outsiders getting in
and if i get the idea running i will give it away

link the flash file to a text document to get the password?
if flash can do that, then sure. but it won't be hard for somebody to retrieve the file.
flash password protection is not the way to go.
I don't know anything about flash, yet I was able to figure out your turn dial lock just by looking through it. it's very simple stuff to understand. even if you have no idea what it is your looking at.
