Damn, I hated all the waiting I had to do, but I made a small, first-timer comic.

Question :

i hope you you had a template of those images and just blared them if not i advise you to step out your front door and take a huge gasp lol

must have took a while but good none the less

congrats (just maybe make it slightly lighter so its easier to read and make more )

It is hard to tell what is happening. I am assuming you used Filter>Artistic>Cutout so just lower down the arrow and it will be more clear. sese

Hey JB, cool Comic, but as Dote and Rdtot said, it’s a bit unclear with the cutout filter. I was experimenting with filters to get a cool comic effect and came up with some. See what you think.

1. Ink outlines (stroke: 10, Dark: 18, Light: 21)

2. Int outlines (Stroke: 10, Dark: 18, Light: 21) + Crosshatch (Stroke: 3, Sharp: 1, Strength: 1)

3. Good old, Poster edges (Thickness: 0, Intensity: 3, Posterization: 2) + Cutout (Levels: 8, Simplicity: 0, Fidelity: 2)

4. Poster edges (Thinkness: 0, Intensity: 3, Posterization: 2) + Graphics Pen (length: 15, Balance: 50, Right diagonal) + Gaussian Blur ( 0.3 pixels). If you want to colour like mine, copy original layer, put it below this layer, then set this layer to multiply. Give the layer below a 1 pixel Gaussian blur.

Obviously theses would need to be adjusted and tweaked to match your pictures etc.

I know, nice effects SB. I went through them all and cut-out is the best one I could find. I tried to make it as clear as possible, but... Fail.

rdtot - October 19, 2007 02:16 AM (GMT)
its ok to fail
but its not ok to give up
so I will be expecting a very cool comic from you JB ;)

the poster edges one is amazing

here is there away i could save those settings so when i press the button it does all of that

eg

Poster edges (Thickness: 0, Intensity: 3, Posterization: 2) + Cutout (Levels: 8, Simplicity: 0, Fidelity: 2)

im on photoshop 7

Yeah there is, But I don’t have PS7 so Im not sure if you can with that.
Have a look, under “Window” in the top bar (file, edit, image etc), have a look for “Actions”. If its there, then you can start it recording a macro, do the process you want, and then it saves it as a macro it the actions window
