Hey guys..

I got the Crysis multiplayer beta! (woo go me!) And I've brought screenshots. High res. This is why it's not coming to consoles.... RIP to those Pc's who blew up while attempting to run the beta.

If you want more screenshots just ask. This game is THE BOMB! Best game I've ever played in my entire life. Discuss.

Demo comes out in a few days. Wonder how many of you guys can run it? LOL

Pentium 3 500Mhz, 128mb ram, Geforce 4 graphics card to run it all high.

You got some nice computer there mate, but you need to work on draw-distance, I've noticed Crysis can go a lot further than that ;)

Anyway, looks cool and I know every PC gamer has been looking forward to it. Still sticking to my first impression that the multiplayer is pretty shit. Well I'm hoping to play it soon so I'll make some better judgements then (not on my computer though...mine can't even run Halo PC on high).

uuuuummmm...
those specs aren't that high...

pentium 3 is pretty low, 500Mhz isn't too demanding, I didn't know people still had 128mb of ram, so small..., and geforce4 is pretty mediocre.

Really? And that's to run it on high? No way...

I heard you need like a £2000 computer to run it decently.
I think it's a typo and he meant to run it at the very minimum spec.

Crysis multiplayer takes a massive dump on Halo multiplayer x10. Crysis uses the Battlefield 2 formula (that's the PC BF2 by the way) for multiplayer, the maps are MASSIVE. This game kicks serious ass!

That was extreme sarcasm..btw....

Minimum for Crysis is 6800GT, Single core 2.8Ghz Intel or AMD 2800+, 16GB HDD.

I'm running this on a P35 Gigabyte motherboard, E6600, 8800GTX and 2GBs of ram.

vettefan88 - September 22, 2007 12:19 AM (GMT)
oh, I knew those specs couldn't be right.
they were just waaay to low. even cheap dells outperform those.

Eh, that's opinion. Some people prefer large maps with lots of people, whilst some prefer smaller maps with less people.
You see, one of Halo's multiplayer aspects is all-out action and excitement where you're never left wondering around being bored.
While the maps may not be as big as Crysis or BF2, the players to map size ratio is larger than that of those two games.

Anyway, I know you prefer these large open maps so go kick some ass out there!

Well its just a beta which went unreleased till now. Maps can have up to 32 players. Anyway, I've only been playing in DX9 mode (DX10 not in beta :() Can't wait till it releases so I can play in DX10 and will take a massive dump over any game ;)

Beta or no beta, the multiplayer gameplay is shown pretty clearly and the styles differ from Halo.

And 32 players is double that of Halo games, yet the maps in Crysis are some 5x bigger than any Halo map - this is what I mean by player to map size ratio. It provides a lot more excitement and fun that always leaves you in the action never being left bored.

Anyway, it looks great so far, be sure to post screenshots in DX10 (which I figure makes it look better?)

And that's why the Save Film feature will PWN.

No awesome moment will go un-recorded ;)
And it ain't just any recorder like Fraps where you have to choose when to turn it on and record, cos EVERY match is recorded (I think it's the last 50 recordings are saved) until the next match replaces the oldest one, and you can permanently save the ones you want to relive later on - so no moment will ever go un-saved.

Crysis demo delayed to mid Oct.

Looks like we still got Lego Star Wars till then..

RVA - September 22, 2007 11:00 PM (GMT)
For real? Link please. Also, that sucks if it does, its really the only game thats not a 360 game to compete for game of the year against halo 3.

Nath - September 23, 2007 12:18 AM (GMT)
DX10 not available in the beta =/ graphics will look 100x better in DX10 mode though ;)

EDIT: Yes the Crysis demo is delayed till Oct 26th. Also, Crysis will walk all over Halo for GOTY. The CryEngine 2 is the most technologically advanced engine in the world. Everything in the environment in Crysis is destructible (well, if you have a decent CPU to enable the physics) I highly doubt Halo will win GOTY vs Crysis.

RVA - September 23, 2007 12:52 AM (GMT)
Lol, I don't think it appeals to many people though, it may have breakthrough tech... Doesn't mean its going to get approved by many. NO doubt that it will be a good game, but still, with the fanbase of Halo, I doubt it will win, but it will probably get in second.

Since when does the game with the best graphics win? The main aspect in games is gameplay, and that is where Halo can't be beaten at.

I agree that the engine is far superior of any other game, but GOTY goes to Halo just because it's fantastic all round.

No, crysis deserves it over Halo.

Its just because Halo's so hyped and available to everyone, that it could win.

If Halo 3 does win GOTY, then its a good representation of how shit games have been this year.

We all know whats going to win GOTY next year, dont we? [

Vii, you can't DARE justify halo 3 as a shit game when your console's best game is... lair... Enough said. Stop being ignorant and being a fanboy... If the game sucked it wouldn't sell more than 3 of your games combined...

Vii - September 23, 2007 03:23 PM (GMT)
I'm not being a fanboy. But halo 3 isnt that good. So if it id win GOTY, then it would show the poor level of games this year.

Which is true, nothing has been good this year. Nothing has come close to what Halo 3 would be..

Imagine if MGS4, GTAIV and GT5 all came out this year, you still think Halo 3 would win?

Next years going to be a tough one, with all the above coming out, and more.

Even a JAPANESE reviewer gave it a near-perfect score - and you know how much they hate FPS.

Everyone who's played it as said it absolutely amazing and easily one of the best games they've ever played. Not sure what kind of fanboys you've been taking opinions with, but Halo 3 seems to be one hell of a game that lives up to it's massive hype.

And Halo 3 has tons of competition. Bioshock, Assassins Creed, CoD4, Crysis - and those are/looking to be fantastic games. But frankly Halo 3 wins hands down.

The only decent competition it could possibly have is GTAIV, but that's coming next year - the rest isn't even worth comparing.

You can make your own biased opinions, but don't look surprised when all the reviews come in with top-notch scores and players are saying it's one of the best games they've played.
Some have already got it early, and even without matchmaking online yet, they're saying it's absoluely amazing - and those are unbiased opinions.

What are you kidding? Assassins Creed will barely get a 80/100. Every preview i've read, they said it was a great concept, but couldnt be pulled off. Framerates drops, glitches..sounds like a game that was too much for the 360 to pull off.

You idiot. MGS4 is alot more competition then GTAIV. If the game doesnt shake the games industry like crazy, then i'll be damned.

Noo..people on your HALO forum, are saying its amazing. Go check a general forum, like forums.qj.net.

Ahem...actually the 360 version is running decently, while the PS3 version isn't handling the AI well is what I heard.
Everyone's been saying the 360 is getting a better version mainly due to this.

MGS4 isn't a contender in my eyes. Next year GTA IV will smash MGS to the ground.

And that isn't from a "Halo forum". It's what I've been reading from various forums after googling "Early Halo 3 release" - and from what I see it's a generally console forum.

I suggest we get back on topic, otherwise I'll have to lock.

What are you? A PS fanboy?

Since when does the game with the best graphics win? The main aspect in games is gameplay, and that is where Halo can't be beaten at.

I agree that the engine is far superior of any other game, but GOTY goes to Halo just because it's fantastic all round.

Me... a PS fanboy?? What are you smoking today?

Halo is overrated. It's a PC experience on consoles. I can't believe some of the reviews I'm reading right now.

Like I said, you have different tastes that Halo doesn't cover.

Oh, and that was a rhetorical question...

I like Halo.. it's just overrated.

Lol, again, you're opinion :P

Ok last comment then were all back on topic. I admit its a bit over hyped, but It deserves A LOT of hype, just maybe NOT all that MS is whoring it out to be. BUT, its going to be a great game, and I think from what we get this year, its going to be GOTY and with its initiative style, plot, multiplayer and forge. Give it that unicity (is that a word?) that most shooters, and games are missing. I think crysis LOOKS great... But multiplayer is going to be very dull, because very few people will be able to PLAY it on there pc.

No doubt that game will be amazing, and if it also came to console, it would probably sell great as well, but unfortunately it only goes to those with a high end PC rig. Which saddens me this game will go unnoticed to the eye's of many.

I doubt it will sell near as great as halo 3, for the reasons stated above. But it will be a great game non the less, and I wish my PC would be able to handle it, I would buy it otherwise. As for the gameplay, I think it can deliver a very fun game, but I don't think its style appeals to as many as the style and feel that a game like halo delivers. I can't see too many college parties were normal people would be herding around the pc drinking beers, seeming you would need 8 PC's in order to get 8 players playing together. But otherwise I have been to parties were we all get drunk and the xbox always gets fired up and we all play halo or madden or something like that. I don't think this game will go for the casual gamer, but it will satisfy the needs of a hardcore PC gamer.

Well, your wrong there mate. Crysis uses a BF2 styled Gameplay (and BF2 being the best mutliplayer game ever created, and still is) we will have to wait and see though..

Ahem...opinion...? There's no fact that says BF2 has best online play - it's all opinion.
