I dont see that happening in the short run... maybe like 4 years from now, but not anytime soon... I see the wii winning the console war, and the 360, in second, and ps3 in third, but then the ps3 will sell a lot in its later years... when games come out.

Anyway, I've never seen this video, and I think it's awesome lol. The way they made it on the tune of "How to save a life" and even named it "How to kill your brand" is just class.
Pictures were great too, and that part where the Sony spokesmen said "Erm..." like 15 times in a row was hilarious.

What ever LPB is, one game can't save the console this holiday season, or this quarter, or this year. I think it will be quite some time, before sony climbs, although, I see xbox getting a HUGE boost this year and probably mid next year. I went into EB games yesterday to change a pre order, and I saw 2 people buying a 360 there... Which is unsual to have multiple console sales within one day, those weren't even the first. And I must say, that Halo is totally selling this 360 ATM. And then once they find all the other good games, they are going to be very happy.

I was going to get a ps3 this christmas, and I asked DDM for his unbiased COMPLETELY honest truth, to weather I should get it yet or not. And he owns both consoles mind you. And he said its not worth it yet, he gets so much more use out of his 360...

I like to think of the console war like this... (Which may sound strange, but I feel its very accurate.

The ps3 is that beefy foren (I know thats not spelled right sorry) guy, that is strong, but a little egotystic, and is only friends with the "rich" people, and kind of ignore the other kind of people.

The 360, is that outgoing and junkie guy, sometimes he crashed but when hes normal he's a lot of fun...(also trying to fix himself)

The wii, is that little middle school kid who has alot of friend, only the kids and family of him like him, older people don't understand him as much.


I know that sounds weird, but that what I think the console's are like if they had human properties. I think the only thing that in the long run (like 3-4 years from now) that will save the ps3, and bring it up in sales, is that blu-ray, Games are so hard to develope for that thing, sequels are going to take forever to make. We will be lucky to see a sequel to the games coming out now, for another 4-5 years. Now, the brand I don't think is killed, its just in a lot of pain right now...

Anyway, even my mate says the PS3 is no where near as good as the 360 in terms of being a games console. He was even a Nintendo fan since the 64, and 360 is the only console to turn him away from being a Nintendo fan to being a 360 fan. (And he said the PS3 comment before he switched to being a 360 fan).

He's been playing games ever since his older brothers bought a Sega when he was 5 years old - it's safe to say he knows his games.

He says the only aspect of the PS3 that he thinks is better than the 360 is the touch-sensitive buttons of the console.

Plus, he says that after going from a year of using XBL, then going to PS Network, he says he really starts to appreciate the little features of XBL that people never notice or see as important.

And he's no fanboy. Sometimes he complains about certain aspects of the 360, like it's too fat or certain games are shit, etc. He's not afraid to diss anything about any console.

Oh, and he has a launch console that's still living to this day, and he says that the only problem he's had with it is it froze TWICE in it's whole lifetime.
I think that just proves that if you just take care of it and not go playing it 8 hours in a row everyday, then it won't go wrong.

It was voted the best game of E3 2007. And most anticipated. You guys clearly havent seen the trailers or played the game. Other wise you'd be blown away.

I make bold statements like that, because i genuinely believe in them. I've seen enough, i know what its capable of doing.

No doubt, the 360 is doing alot better atm then PS3. Thats what you get with a year headstart. But due to the PS3's hardware, i'll estimate that by this time next year, every PS3 game will look 80% better then any 360 game.

Lets show an example.

You guys got Gears Of War a year ago, a year later, we get UT3.
This was the developers final comments: "We made GoW a year back, in most peoples opinions it was a phenomenal game, but a year later, with the PS3's power, we're able to make better textures, better gameplay, and better maps."


UT3 is being developed atm for just the PS3, they'll be porting it to 360 early next year.

Thats a solid indication that the PS3 is slipping into the "older brother" role that the 360's been holding for the past 6 months.

Funny you say that, because the PS3 out does every other console, in terms of features and hardware.
So on that front, the ps3 wins. Just wait for a price cut so thats its affordable to the average gamer.

He said its not fun to play, all he plays is ridge racer anymore, and even thats getting boring. Little big planet, good luck, because ONE game can't save that console, thats what they though heavenly sword was going to do, and when I walked in to EB games Thursday, I didn't see a line of 3 people buying a ps3 and ordering heavenly sword, I saw a line of people buying 360, and pre ordering Halo 3... Heavenly sword is using the same engine for its sequel and 20% of the game IS the engine, so thats why 20% is done, and that still doesn't mean that it wont take 4 years. Theres still 80% that is going to take A LONG TIME!

Surprised that you think its going to "Save the console"... That game looked like a beefed up version of loco roco... And even there, it looks to me like it wouldn't appeal to all gamers, just ones with alot of time on there hand... It looked like it would be fun for a while, but it would get boring really fast... Faster than the wii itself got boring.

I didnt say ALL, obviously ALOT of the shared titles, are being delayed on the PS3 version, whereas they aren't on the 360 version. You can design levels on FC:I but you don't see that game being swallowed up... In fact its horrible. The map maker is the only thing thats any good... Your just trying to stick up for the fact that you didn't buy a 360, and have nothing to do all day... The ps3 right now is a failure, and will be one for 1-2 maybe even 3 years. Until it gets some power titles. You complain about us having a years head start, well, you guy had a year to developed a console around the faults of the 360... But we got the fun, and good games, whereas it may take years for you to get a good steady line up... I am going to hold off on the ps3, until at least Christmas of next year, or maybe a bit earlier depending on how well my income flows.

Its not the map maker that makes it good, its the way you make the maps.

No idea what you mean by "A year to make a console round 360's faults?", but while those features are valid they're strong/positive points about the system, likewise it has downfalls.
360 is no different - nothing is.
You stated the good points, while I can easily state the good points of 360 that give it an upperhand over PS3.

Oh, and as for the dieing thing, nothing is faulty-proof. The fact is, people just got addicted and started playing it for hours on end, causing it to overheat like your average electrical appliance. I admit though, the overheating wouldn't be such a big problem if Microsoft had given their console a better internal design.

But like a car, if you take care of it and don't over-use it like hell, then it won't break down and it'll last longer.

Besides, Microsoft are just now beginning to fix the problem with their new chips and heatsinks, which work wonders for the console. Sure, it took them time, but better late than never eh?

As I said before, the reliability factor is the only aspect of the 360 than Sony fanboys could bash about, and with that being fixed now you guy's will have to find something else to complain about unfortuneately.

Sure they may be good games, but why settle for second class when you can go for first?
Like Killzone 2 will probably be a good game, and if I had a PS3 it'll probably keep me occupied if I have nothing else to do. But why should I play it when I can play Halo 3? Why should I play a second class game to my taste when there's a better alternative out there?

I'm actually not joking when I say this, but if I had the choice of having a PS3 and every single exclusive game coming out or the only Halo 3 copy left in the world, I would pick Halo 3 anyday.

In an unbiased statement, I feel that alot of PS3 owners want and need a title as popular as Halo 3... So far the best contestant against halo 3 is Crysis... (spelling?) which is a PC only title (Correct me if im wrong on that too..) That look amazing sadly it wont sell as great because you need a computer the size of a house (just a joke) to power it... no seriously though you need a high end rig to power that sucker.

Crysis just has incredible graphics and technology.
In terms of gameplay (you know, the most important aspect of a game), it's pretty average in FPS terms (so some reviewers say, and in a unbiased opinion I agree too by looking at some multiplayer videos). Although I can be wrong though, as I haven't played it and I've only seen some videos.

I believe they concentrated too much on the graphics and technology when designing the gameplay style in multiplayer. As a fun game to go killing eachother it doesn't work well and things are easily unbalanced from what I see.

Meh, anyway hoping to play it anyway, cos I gotta experience those graphics first hand!

Oh, and it's due to release on Xbox 360 sometime next year (they're re-making it to best perform on the 360, as frankly no console can handle Crysis PC's full potential. After all, it is a Microsoft exclusive, so of course they would demand a 360 version as well as PC.
