Look what I found on Bungie Forums now!
A demonstration of Forge from some game event that happened this week.
This is interesting for those who haven't heard about Forge, or who want to find out more:
Forge DemonstrationI can't wait!

OMG, so can we use that during certain gameplay times or something?!

"Up to 8 players across XBL can run around and switch between being the Monitor in a Forge session".
I'm surprised you haven't heard of this, it's a pretty major feature in Halo 3. This was the first demonstration though, before that Bungie were only talking about it.

Ahh I see, I watched it one more time.
At the end, he mentions actually saving the map and uploading it to XBL for your friends to download!!!
This game is just going to ROCK!

Yup, sharing things between people over XBL is one thing Bungie concentrated on.
Heard of the Save Film feature? Basically you can record your game and then look back at it after. You get the standard controls (e.g. pause, forward, rewind, etc), except here you can move the camera yourself. You can attach it to a player in different modes (e.g. 1st person and third person) and then twist the camera around that player and lock it at a position so the video will continue to play at the angle you locked it at, or you can detach the camera and move it around yourself.
Plus, your movements of the camera can be saved, so if you're making a montage or something, it really helps. Pausing the video at vital parts, and moving the camera anywhere you like will come in handy too. Plus you can take screenshots anytime during the video at 1080p resolution. (So imagine if you have a Spartan Laser and a fully loaded Warthog is coming at you. You can go to the very point where the laser is storming out of the barrel, and pause it so you can see the laser inches away from the Warthog driving straight at you. That'll be one hell of an awesome picture).
The possibilites are pretty much endless.
And once you're happy with the video (all done from the comfort of your controller too), you can upload it to Bungie.net, send it to your friends, or (get this...) put it on your very own fileshare blog! You get your own blog type thing for storing your videos, and everyone can view your videos by going to your fileshare.
This whole thing came to mind when Bungie were saying that they had sooo many great times playing Halo games (both with friends or with other players online), but words just weren't good enough to describe them fully, and sometimes you just wished you could show off a near-impossible shot you pulled off the day before to your friends.
Now though, great times will never be forgotten.
