Title: Just Preordered =]
Durka Durka Mahn - August 4, 2007 11:03 PM (GMT)
Me and my dad just went out and I preordered GTA IV (PS3) and Halo 3 from Best Buy. Can't wait for them to finally come out!
And I might be getting my own 360 for Halo 3 for my birthday, because my dad hogs the 360 to himself.

Cool. Add D:C on your Xbox ---> SavXtreme.
Mad Skillz!

Why PS3? The 360 and PS3 versions are identical, except the 360 version has exclusive content.
I doubt you wanna miss out on that
Oh, and while you're waiting for Halo 3, you mght wanna try out a few games like Bioshock and Mass Effect. They look like kickass games.
If you're gonna buy you're own 360 just for Halo 3, you might as well get the limited edition Halo 3 Xbox 360 (yes..there is one coming out).

Reason why I wanted GTA IV for my PS3 is because I'm used to playing GTA on the playstation controller, and always found it akward playing on the 360 controller.

Since when can you play a GTA game on a 360 controller?
And that was only because the original Xbox controllers were shit, and Rockstar didn't bother making a good control scheme for the Xbox controller.
This time round though, both controller are pretty much the same, with the same button layouts (except on the 360 the left analogue stick is placed in a more comfortable place and the back triggers are better).
With the new cover system, I can see a different control scheme to what we've seen in previous GTAs, and after playing Gears of War, I have a hunch that the control scheme on the 360 might just be pretty kickass.
Anyway, your personal opinion

He wasnt talking about the controls. He was talking about the shape/weight/dimensions of the pad itself.
I'm with DDM, i couldnt play 360 with that bulky 360 pad. (my opinion dont flamezx!!11!)
Plus theirs the sixaxis support and the awesome new trigger buttons. I'm sure R* will set shooting to that. As it would be too awkward to use that to toggle the guns. They're perfect for shooting as they go in like a real trigger.

Perfect for shooting? I disagree.
They're in no form the shape of a real trigger - the 360 triggers are.
They in no form go in like a trigger, unless you hold the controller vertically.
If you imagine holding a gun, the trigger isn't in the same angle as if you were holding the PS3 controller horizontally (the way people are supposed to hold and position controllers whilst playing) it doesn't go in the same way - otherwise if held vertically, it'll be in front of your face and in an awkward position
When held properly, the 360 triggers are the one that act like a real gun trigger, since they go in the same way.
Next time you use your PS3, hold the controller propery and use the back triggers. Anyone who's even held a toy gun would know straight away that that isn't the angle triggers go in.
Anyway, it's been said to be awkward to use the triggers (and I tihnk so anyway), and looks like some developers agree, as Resistance doesn't use the triggers for shooting.
I'm sure the 360 layout will include the triggers for shoot, whist I'm not sure about the PS3 layout - all depends on what the other button features are.
Anyway back on topic, I just pre-ordered the Collectors Edition of Halo 3 for the same price as the normal version! :P

This is all personal prefrence.. I perfer the ps3 controller over the xbox mainly because of how it fits in your hands. It jsut feels more of a comfort fit. But this is just me of course.

I was talking about how the triggers compare to real gun triggers, which isn't personal preference.

You know there is a big difference between the Xbox controller and the Xbox 360 controller.
The PS3 controller and 360 controller both have the exact same button layout.

360 controller is nice and smooth. I have no idea what the PS3 controller is like but it's the same layout.

You used to have a PS1 right? It's exactly the same as that, except the PS3 one is lighter (and the obvious, like wireless).
