what if "dark alex" was actually sony? and sony came up with homebrew to get more publicity?

eh, no.
dark alex originally started with DAX loader. which was the first iso loader than could load compressed isos. (.dax)

I doubt he worked for sony, and he didn't just make homebrew possible, he allowed any ps1 game to played, direct iso loading from the xmb, video hacks to allow higher resolutions, putting umd videos at risk of losing sales. why would somebody buy a movie when they can have a high res version on their ms? his custom firmwares were mainly geared towards piracy.

his custom firmwares were probably the biggest pains in sony's back.
they actually talked of D_A in a conference they held last year. He stopped because of building issues with hackers of the next-gen consoles, and he wanted to get out before it was too late.

there's no way he worked for sony.

yes sony is making money when psps are bought but theyre losing more with iso and cso and dax
