Yep im getting broadband im probebly the last person here to get it but i will be getting it soon i think its 256kb is that any good. ??????

256kb is probably the slowest broadband you can have ( maybe you can have 128kb too? ), actually I didn't know you could get broadband slower than 512kb.
But congrats, it's better than dial up at least, and I guess if you're not downloading stuff you don't need it any faster.

its good
but you will have to choose either browsing or downloading not both in the same time
its maximum download speed is 30 kb I think

I'm pretty sure Monty has dial-up, or a VERY shitty connection.
ELLIS1991 - July 11, 2007 04:51 AM (GMT)

it depends on where you get it from.
256kbps is pretty low.
it takes me about 10 minutes to DL a 100 mb file off rapidshare.
but then again my DL speed alone is about 30x greater than 256.
although rapidshare maxes out for me at about 500kbps
I'd figure it would take you a few hours to DL 200mb with the connection speed being only 256. the DL is much lower.
just out of curiosity, how much are you paying for this broadband?
I pay like $50 a month for my connection, and I get unlimited number of downloads, and a great speed.
that 3gb of downloads will probably count towards everythign you download off the web. everytime you visit a webpage you download the images displayed, the text, and the html. anytime you go on youtube the videos you watch are downloaded to a temp folder. I can only imagine 3gb lasting me about a week max.
I think whoever is trying to supply you with this broadband is taking you for a ride. I'm sorry, but 256kbps and a limit on ow much you can downlaod seems a little fishy.
call yur cable company and see what kind of internet access they offer. cable is faster than broadband, and if you get your connection in conjunction with your cable service you can get it pretty cheap. (I pay $125 a month total for digital cable with just about every channel you could imagine, and my cable line.)

Broadbadn and DSL are pretty much the same thing. They're provided through phone lines as a "higher speed" service. Cable is provided through cable lines for higher speed. Cable is usually much faster than a brodband or DSL line.
A cable line easily exceeds 10+mbps, while dsl lines would usually struggle at 1+mbps

but wut im worried about is this, i might get
wifi max from walmart and in the specs it reads this
| CODE |
With PSP Wi Fi Max, if you've got a broadband-enabled PC, you've got a wireless access point. Use the PSP Wi Fi Max to enjoy wireless access on up to five PSP?s at once. |
and i have cable... will it work?

Erm, just get any wireless router and it'll work...And it's called "wireless" for a reason - no cables are needed.
Don't bother with a cheap crappy one, just buy a decent Linksys one for a couple of tenners.

don't bother with one of thos wifi max things.
I never used one but it can't be that good, and probably has a weak connection. plu, I htink it may work through usb, so it won't even take advantage of your full connection speed.
Vii - July 12, 2007 09:49 PM (GMT)
Its a bitch to get working. And when it does, it gives you 40% connection max.
chad1416 - July 13, 2007 06:25 PM (GMT)
any sugestions on a good one?

Yes, but it'll be laggy.
P.S. Don't use MTA (mutli theft auto), use SA-MP (san andreas multiplayer) - it's much better.
Joshyboy - July 15, 2007 05:04 PM (GMT)
Multi theft auto is for all GTA's.
