I went to cheatsync.net, registered, chose a cheat, clicked download, dowloaded it, plugged in my psp and dowloaded to my psp, then i started my game, what do i do now because the cheat does not appear to be working

I'm not sure what you mean by not working.
Do you have the cheat device installed? It's required.
If you do, is you problem that you can't see the cheat? You need to scroll down to the very bottom ( when you reach the last cheat you keep pressing down to go to the next screen, there the cheat should be, if it isn't try pressing the line that starts with File: )
If the problem is that the cheat doesn't do anything even after you activate it then there's probably something wrong with he cheat, it may be a fake cheat.

im a noob, i have no idea about anything, can someone give a step by step guide of what to do to use Cheatsync

what FW do you have to see
turn on the psp and go all the way to the left menu then down to system setting and then down to system info and i think they all it system version what does it say

My psp's firmware is 3.03, i dont wanna use one of those things that downgrades it cuz my mate did that and it bricked his Psp :mellow:

you don't need to.i installed mine with still FW 3.03.
no downgrades

ooh yeah i forgot about 3.03 hen
if your on 3.04 you have to upgrade to 3.50 first then you can either
*Downgrade using a copy of lumines (if you dont have a copy you can rent one)
*You can wait for hen to come out and use devhook but then youd need to buy lumines if you dont already have it
i would advise you to downgrade because then you can use OE firmwares which is the best thing that ever came from the psp although dont upgrade any higher than 3.03OE-C otherwise you then need to use devhok which is a pain in the backside
