Description: From 1up

1up.com have just posted a new article of everything we know about GTAIV so far.
Some things there I didn't even know, and they round up pretty much everything learnt from Rockstar, magazines, screenshots and the public by the looks of it.
Seems to be a good read.

| Rockstar's artists are really outdoing themselves. And we're still five months away from release. |
omg. It sounds so close!
I'm used to hearing "October" which sounds pretty fair away, but fivemonths?! Woo!
Fuck all this fanboy bashing! Who cares?! If 360 get exclusive content, then so be it!
It'll make up for them missing the CD.
Anyway, great work DC. :)

Great work? Lol...I only copy and pasted the link.
And it says the exclusive content gives around 10 extra hours of gameplay! W00T!
I can't wait for this game!

LOL...The downloadable content will give an extra 10 hours of gameplay, not the actual game.
Expect MONTHS of gameplay from the actual game itself!

DC dont over exaggerated now
months no game will give that much and wont for years to come maybe if you play it regurally then yeah but gameplay is the actual time spent playing it (pro wise)

Yeah, as if that'll bring 10 hours of gameplay...
I'm expecting something a bit more than that...MUCH more even. If you imagine previous GTA missions on consoles lasted around 5-10mins. Imagine how many missions would have to be made to last 10 hours altogether...
It can't be something like an extra car, cos they can't go around saying 10hours of extra gameplay with something like a car.
Well they said that there will be multiple ways to end the game, and multiple choices on how to play the storyline (different routes to where/how you progress in the game, like True Crime), I'm expecting quite a lot of extra missions to add to the storyline. If it isn't missions, then I'm expecting a new borough. I'm sure that'll clock in a few hours.
People at GTA Forums were saying why Rockstar are only including/mentioned 4/5 boroughs of New York in GTAIV.
Perhaps the 5th borough IS the exclusive content? It would make sense.
Of course, this content will probably be released for PS3 in a few months or so after the 360 content.
And I meant how long it'll take till you finished the game (not necassarily 100%). GTA:SA lasted me around 2 or 3 months to complete all the missions. Of course I done some exploring and pissing about during that time, but that's part of the whole game experience. Then the next year kept me occupied just having some GTA-style fun! (Can't remember how long GTA3 and VC lasted me).
Looking at this, I'm therefore expecting GTAIV to last me months until I get to the stage of just pissing about, GTA-style around the city.
Joshyboy - May 9, 2007 07:55 PM (GMT)
@DC I knew that...:)
10 hours driving a taxi!!1
Vii - May 9, 2007 09:50 PM (GMT)
What i mean was, Xbox wont get anything that will completely change the shape of the game because that would be completely unfair to Rockstars liftime friends, Sony.
I'm sure they wouldnt go giving 360'ers a new borough.
Joshyboy - May 10, 2007 02:10 PM (GMT)
10 Hours for Downloadable Content Gamepley sounds like A psp game I have...
Lara Croft Tomb Raider Legends had 10 hours of gameplay with it, and god... that is alot.

Like I said, it'll most likely be released for the PS3 after a few months.
Look at Xbox Live. They're full of exclusive content, mostly things like online multiplayer map packs.
From what I've seen, a few of them are being released for PS3 soon also.

i agree with DC (and i dont have a xbox)
but the only thing is theres a problem with the xbox HD so maybe a new borough isnt reality but i bet that could be the probem rockstar is having so maybe theyll stick it in the original game and then make new smaller update like cars and missions and small areas
hopefully slightly easing the problem of the XBOX

I don't have an Xbox, and that was an unbiased answer...If I was biased I would say it's never being released for PS3 since it hasn't even been announced anyway, but thinking realistically, it probably will later on.
And no, the downloadable content is...downloadable...Anyone without a HDD will not be able to get the content. Same story for all the other hundreds of downloadable content on XBL. The fact is, if you don't have a HDD, you're missing out anyway, so I see GTAIV having a HDD required sticker on it more of a reality. As time moves on, having a HDD on your console is being more required that ever, so you might as well get one, or you'll miss out anyway.
Anyway, back to the point, it'll download onto your HDD, so a whole new borough is a possibility. No shitty, rip-off content.
And remember, Rockstar said both versions will be identical!
I hate repeating myself over and over...

For those who saw the demo, Niko (the main character of the game) passes an ATM machine and the option to access his bank account appears. Now, no official word has been given on this yet, but the initial impression is that it will be possible.
The GTA IV physics engine has been tweaked as well which should allow you to actually hear "vehicles passing by with their radio turned on." Hmm, not bad at all. Speaking of driving, the controls have been "tremendously" tweaked and enhanced. They also gave other details on the game which are listed below.
Here are some of the other details on the game from GTA4.net:
* When selecting a contact on your mobile phone, a list of several commands are made available to the player, such as "meet me here," etc. * Playing the single player game through co-operative mode is not possible, however there will be a co-op mode in addition to all the other unknown multiplayer modes. * According to Dan Houser, VP of Creative for Rockstar Games, they haven't yet figured out if GTA IV is going to spark off another set of GTA games connected to it, and they're currently just focusing on this single game. He does say he "would have a certain confidence" setting GTA outside the United States, such as England, in the future.
Amidst all the good news, we have a little bit of bad news for fans of San Andreas Stories. Houser said that there are no plans for a PSP version of the game. So, while a lot PSP owners will probably still be waiting for a PSP release, it's unlikely that it will be coming anytime soon. |
http://pspupdates.qj.net/New-GTA-IV-detail...pg/49/aid/92218and sorry DC thought you did and i knew you want bias but VII might think i was and start flaming
(ive never actually even play an xbox 360 yet :( )

That's the same story for alot of PS fans, most of which bash the 360.
And nice information! Man, I'm just itching to play GTAIV....but first it's Halo 3 Beta! Have to wait until next Saturday to play it though :(
And HA! I was right! Co-op multiplayer modes! ^_^
Too bad for SAS...

Darkness of the screen?
1.) I thought you said you've never played a 360
2.) Wherever you heard or saw it from, it must have been on a TV with it's brightness set low
3.) If it's so dark for you, then turn the brightness up...duh
4.) Brightness isn't even controller by a console. If it's like a scary, then obviously things will be dark throughout.
I don't see any problem with the brightness. It's the same brightness as any other console or tv programme.
