The game looks beautiful. It's more like Libery City, with about 5X more space.

It's liberty City again, but it's not the same city, it'll be rebuild and what not, statue of libery is there for example.

Also I'm sure there will also be other cities.

It's liberty city. Liberty City is New York.

Its Lib City, Its written on the back of the boat "the Platypus", but its alot bigger, You know the tunnel in GTA 3 and LCS on the third island, that'll probably be open leading to more areas, because R* would not have all this lead up if it was just a remake of Gta LC on the PS3, that would be stupid

I'm already pissed its called "Liberty City" cos people are gonna be like "They just did that cos its the easy way out!" but obviously it isnt.

They should have made it New York and if they couldnt use that name, they should have made something similiar.

I think it's based in more recent times so it would already be blown up. I think the memorial place might maybe be there though.

They didn't just add a bit onto the city, it's a different city just named the same.

here's a topic with comparisons between the 2 cities, http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=271234. It got some of the same places but they are completely rebuilt from scratch, just look how beautiful the church is now compared to in III.

But it will not be the same city!

i did see the trailer the graphics are good but remember that it might not really be that way its a trailer not game footage and if it is then the shoot the bits that look good

also i just thought this will be the first time your be able to swim in LCS unless you use some PC MODS anyway they better add more to that tunnel but then again why did they not shoot the new bit instead of the old bit because that will give a negative view of the game

They shot both new bits (statue of liberty, ferry station etc) and old bits. I can guarantee you that the city and map will not be anything like the one in III, other than the few buildings and stuff that are the same, if they only had the same city again they'd lose a huge amount of their customers.

im not overly bothered about it being in LC, its been remade from the ground up, and doesnt even look like LC anymore.

Well that trailer was quite different to other GTA trailers.
I was expecting an action packed trailer with tons of car skidding and gun shots.

Although, that was fine with me. The city looks absolutely amazing and at the moment it looks damn amazing.

I still don't understand why Rockstar are choosing to make their THIRD GTA game in Liberty City...

But then again, it's where GTA perfectly fits in, and atleast they've completely re-done LC. Personally, I didn't like the layout of the original LC (compared to VC and, especially, SA anyway).

GTA IV, I liked all the mountain areas, sea, cliffs, drift's. But... you just can't do that in LC.

Yeah, that;s what I thought, but of couse GTAs never have real cars, and definately not in this game from the evidence we've seen.
It looks to be the same as the blue convertible cruising past the rollercoaster earlier in the trailer, except the advert shows a hardtop version.

Alot of people are pissed off that they're setting it in LC again, but the point is that it's actually a NEW city, so who cares what it's called? It's a brand new city you've never been in!
Wonder how the soundtracks gonna be since it's being set in a modern time. Oh, and I'm also gonna look forward to the cars...no more boxy old-fashioned cars! :D

LC in this game emulates Manhatten. GTA4 takes place in NYC, which encompasses the 5 boroughs (where do you think those bridges go to? they go to the other boroughs which incldue queens and brooklyn). Plus, we've already seen the Cyclone Rollercoaster from Coney Island, so I think that's enough evidence supporting an almost "state wide game" like SA.

Theres footage of a "Chrysler 300c" driving past in the game. Slow down the trailer when it scopes by the peds.

That makes me think its set in 2004+.

It aint. It's just a car that LOOKS like it.

Some of Rockstar's custom cars are really obvious knock-offs from real life cars.
Take the SA Infernus. It looks EXACTLY like a 2000 Honda NSX, it's even got the side vent along the door like the Honda. It's just a bit shorter than the real one though.

GTA will never have real life cars in their games. It'll stop them from making tons of vehicles like they always do, because it'll cost too much to license like 200 real life vehicles.
That's only for racing games you spend that much cash on cars.

No. Gta cant license real cars. Otherwise it'll look like they're endorsing the crimes that are in it. The Getaway had to go through a lot of trouble to get real cars, it mostly only worked becuase Getaway isnt as violent and as free as Gta games.

Thats a hard question to answer..
Its like saying: "Do you think microsoft would have used a blu-ray drive instead of a dvd one if they could?"
No one knows why they didnt. ether the drives wernt available at the time, or if they just wanted to be more cost effective and put a cheaper drive.

My guess, is that no. They wouldnt put licensed cars in, doing that would mean every car would have to be real. They couldnt be able to make there own ones.

I'm sure rockstar do enjoy making the cars and stuff..so i'd dont think they would have.

I'd think that they wouldn't...they just wouldn't spend all that money on real life cars.
