OK what do you do? Did you take out the 256 and put in the 1 gig? OR just add the new RAM it?

You MUST have two of the same RAM types inside you PC, Or it will not work. This is because (If you haven't noticed) it all doubles up on each other, you never see 300 mb of RAM do you?
(1,2,4,6,8,16,32,64,128,256,512,1024 and so on)

OK first off joshy that didn't help what so ever, Almost every one understands that part...
OK
I take out the 256 install 1g
Start up computer ALERT comes up and says something that the computer is allowing or capable of 256MB which i don't understand what so ever... i mean thats pointless...
Anyway.. push F1 to continue with normal boot up and the computer only uses 256 of the 1g
OR
you push F2 and you go to your systems setup well one of them...
theres an option MEMORY setup (someting MEMORY)
And there you can change your MAX memory the highest it will set to is 256 and i am confused.. Who makes a motherboard that only goes to 256 RAM ?
