but it also has the waves in blue, green and purple colors.

I applaud his efforts in these waves.

xFinch713x - February 9, 2007 03:50 AM (GMT)
do you know how to make these? i would like to make some of my own, but i dont know how

edit: found out how to do it, but for me its a bit confusing, if someone could simplify it a little, and maybe even take screenshots in Hex Workshop, that would be perfect... heres the tutorial: XMB Wave Tutorial

vettefan88 - February 9, 2007 03:27 PM (GMT)
I tried doing it, but it's really difficult. I don't know what changes what in the hex, so I just get a bunch of random things when I try changing it.

Magical Trevor - February 9, 2007 04:32 PM (GMT)
those are BLOODY AWESOME!

but i dont think xflash will flash them....

Vii - February 9, 2007 04:37 PM (GMT)
OMFG!
I want that, but i havnt flashed my 3.02 OE-B psp yet..so i'm scared..

Does Recovery work always work?

vettefan88 - February 9, 2007 05:25 PM (GMT)
here's a really simple way to slash them.

install 3.03 OE-C or any later version of OE (I have 3.03 OE-C for VCS:CD)
download the wave pack, find the wave set you want. they will be named the same way as a corresponding picture in the pack.
rename the one you want to "system_plugin_bg.rco" without the quotes.

turn on the psp and go into recovery mode. go to advanced>flash:0 usb.

go into your psp's drive on your computer. go to vsh>resource, and paste the system_plugin_bg.rco there.

Vii - February 9, 2007 06:44 PM (GMT)
Do you have to be on OE-C?

Waterbottle - February 9, 2007 06:46 PM (GMT)
I got 'em in blue, they look awesome I must say.

no, but it makes transfering stuff to the flash extremely easy.

Vii - February 9, 2007 08:13 PM (GMT)
ok, i'll update.

vettefan88 - February 9, 2007 08:57 PM (GMT)

Hey vette could you make a simple tut for this. not just the Waves but alos icons and crap. that would be Wicked cool.

i want the red wave set. just have to get 3.03 OE-C

Durka Durka Mahn - February 9, 2007 09:19 PM (GMT)
Those look awesome man.. I wonder how they're made..

xFinch713x - February 10, 2007 01:41 AM (GMT)
use the tut i posted, yes its hard to understand, but if you get it, try to simplify it for us all to use. I made the waves dissapear completely

Tommy - February 10, 2007 02:56 AM (GMT)
Vette can you tell me what you did to get the waves? I changed it to system_plugin_bg.rco out it in res but then whatever theme i pick it goes over the waves. Like The waves are there but theres a white tint over it, so how do you get it without that?

use a dark background to make them stand out more.
use a black background for best results, or a greadient from black to a darker version of the waves like I did.

xFinch713x - February 10, 2007 03:14 AM (GMT)
vette did u make the waves or did u dl them?

Tommy - February 10, 2007 03:38 AM (GMT)
where do I get the black backgrounds? Sorry, I'm a Newb at this.

I downloaded them.
they're in the pack I posted in the first post. z33 made them.
I'm going to try to make some, the only thing is I don't want to keep flashign them to my psp, so I might set up devhook again just to figure the waves out more.

I'm thinking of just making very small changes at a time.
like change one value by 1, see what happens, change it by another incriment of 1 to see what happens. reset the value, and change naother one by 1.
just really small changes to see what happens. then hopefull I can figure it all out.

and to get a black background, just use aprogram like paint, or photoshop or something and save a solid black image as a .bmp name 01-12.bmp.
it has to be small though. for just solid black it can be 1x1 pixel. and put it in the resource folder.

I plan on making a new red/black gradient for background.
I want it to be kinda wavy so it blens with the waves better.

Tommy - February 10, 2007 06:05 AM (GMT)
Kool, it works thanks.

Just saw the other post about the 1-20.bmp so I opened the one already on my PSP and then made it all black and saved it... Now the screen is all white and fuzzy... What am I doing wrong...?

Tommy - February 10, 2007 05:02 PM (GMT)
Did you make the img small? This is what I did.....

I just took the 01-12.bmp and copied it, opened it in PhotoShop then made it black saved it, and put it make on the psp. The problem could be if you named it 1-20 it's 01-12.bmp.

Off-Topic: Good seeing you around.
