The Apocalypse looms eerily on the horizon and, as it does so, awful things are afoot. There is practically no respect for God on Earth. Years ago, a revolt was lead against Christians, killing thousands. Churches and Bibles were burned, and anything remotely Christian or Jewish confiscated or destroyed. This was a world of science and technology. Magic and religion had no place here, and were ignored completely.

The Lord’s angels descended from the Heavens in an attempt to remedy the situation; but those who saw them and attempted to convey their desperate message were silenced, made out to be insane. Eventually, the angels discovered that nobody on Earth could see them at all. After all, with such things as angels, one can see nothing if one does not believe.

Meanwhile, in Hell, even the demons are becoming frustrated. Though originally they, led by the Crown Princes Lucifer, Beliel and Leviathan, took advantage of the chaos they have now discovered that they, too, are unable to influence the mortals in any way. The demons want to enslave the world, not destroy it – but so much killing is going on that soon there will be no world to enslave. Lucifer, the former archangel, has ordered the demons to retreat back into the “safety” of Pandemonium, their capital city, and forbidden any correspondence with the mortals or angels.

Michael, Gabriel, Raphael and Uriel have attempted to enforce their joint ritual magic to increase human faith – but they have discovered that something is terribly wrong. Uriel, the fourth archangel, was not originally one of the chosen four. The magic of the Crown Prince Lucifer, of the original four, is required to accomplish the task – but will he be willing to co-operate? Will the angels and demons be able to break old grudges and work together? If so, they must act quickly. Judgement Day draws nearer, and with no belief, the souls of the human race will be doomed...
