The Navy Clerk - July 6, 2006 01:03 PM (GMT)
I've made all the rolls etc and the articles are now out with the writers, Red and Terry.
I think it's going to be good one - some joy, some sadness, and some suprises

Post more notes! Win valuable prizes!
I'm excited, too. Let's see how well our favorite Chinaman does in the Aide position...

Any snippets of information for us players to hang onto?
Harbour Master - July 9, 2006 06:52 PM (GMT)
the social side was VERY quiet this month :tumb:

My apologies, for I have been remiss in Briny with the heaping of the praise upon the GMs:
They are brilliant, creative, virtuous and fair,
With nautical knowledge and a flair for the dramatic,
Which meets and exceeds this players expectations,
And no monkeys are ever harmed in the resolving of a turn.

lol...
However I am still awaiting Andy and Red to finish the turn so be gentle with us GM's please.... ;)
The Navy Clerk - July 13, 2006 05:12 PM (GMT)
I'm just back from holiday in Devon, and everything is ready to roll as soon as I get Red's write-up. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to look in at Plymouth Library naval reference section, which is a goldmine if you want to know about the Royal Navy.
The closest I got to maritime history was taking down a marquee in the garden of a manor house that used to belong to Sir Francis Drake, the famous privateer (pirate!). It was given to him by Good Queen Bess in return for the "rutter" - (log and charts etc) of the Golden Hind's voyage around the world. A little bit of history and a beautiful spot.
Andy
PS - Monkeys, now there's a thought - if we get enough of them and plenty typewriters ... well, we're not looking for Shakespeare here after all...
The Navy Clerk - July 18, 2006 01:31 PM (GMT)
Issue 31 has gone out to all players, along with character sheets and a draft of some new rules.
If anyone has not got it, let me know and I'll send it again.
If anyone has any comments about the new rules, I've opened a topic in the rules forum so please post them there.
A bright new month dawns! Yippee!

Huzzah! :D :) :xcite:
Will read the new rules later....
My Health: sadly no change: "we are living in a modern country and noone will be sorted out socially!", part of the speech of our Chancelor last week...
She forgot say this too: "... noone will be sorted out socially if he/she has enough - saying much - money!"
Nice joke if I wouldn't be the one of those without .... :tumb: :tumb:

A great turn! A Knight and then a Baron in a summer season...Wow!!!
Andrew Miller - July 22, 2006 04:30 PM (GMT)
So when do we find out what injuries everyone got?
And can Injured Master's and Commanders accept posts at lower ranks for instance or is this like being yellowed?
Harbour Master - July 22, 2006 04:55 PM (GMT)
once recovered he can apply for M&C and below as normal, IF he had command for 3 months or more as a M&C . :capt:

I was curious about that, too — is it up to the player to discuss his injuries, or does the word get around regarding what parts are lost?
Harbour Master - July 27, 2006 08:25 AM (GMT)
I would hope that the GM can inform him he lost an arm, leg, eye etc. he then could choose the side and go from their I suppose?

Hi both,
if you read the last issue right you would know in detail what happened to JWK and his Aide (just a few lines above the ----FIN--- of Red's part:
"However, I regret to inform your Lordship
that aboard HMS Ferocious Rear Admiral
Kerr and his Aide Lt Jackson were both
seriously wounded, with Rear Admiral
Kerr having his right arm amputated and
Lt Jackson having his chest crushed by a
falling yard."

Oversaw that... :(
You're right, if that happened in fight somebody should have seen that and report it to the times! :type:
Andrew Miller - July 28, 2006 01:50 PM (GMT)
Can you tell us what happened to everyone or maybe an NPC like the Clerk to the Admiralty could tell everyone in character?
Ash :)

That would be Andy's job since he knows all the facts... :type:

I gave the nature of the injuries to the players with their character sheet, so they would have the chance to roleplay the details if they wanted. I've just posted about SAM's injury - a facial wound. John Jackson has a spinal injury, and Admiral Kerr had his right arm amputated.
Andrew Miller - July 29, 2006 09:39 PM (GMT)
Cheers Guys it helps with the roleplaying...:)
