Title: Crew SL minimums (high class Press Gangs)

rachael - June 21, 2006 05:22 AM (GMT)
Greetings,

As the current SL requirement dictates that Press Parties from DH frequent high class establishments for their sailors (Knights and Very Wealthy Gentlemen unless they are poached from the lesser vessels)

I was wondering what would happen to a crewmember who due to lack of funds was forced to drop a SL as a member of a crew that had a minimum SL 6 would they be transferred to a different vessel or would they stay onboard and given a period of time to regain their SL?

If the latter would it be possible for a PC captain to recruit a PC who has a SL lower than then required for their ship provided they increase the SL within the same time

example Jack Black SL5 a sailor of IN found himself with a SL of 4 would he be transfered to either the FG/WA or have 6 months to regain his SL of 5

example Jack Black SL4 was permitted to Post Captain Francis Fotheringhay allowed him to join the DH min SL7 under the proviso that his SL was increased to SL7 within 6 months

I would make it this way:

A PC who drops below minimum SL (one SL!) has 6 month to regain his SL an is called brevet sailor.

If he drops more than one SL below minimum SL he is a civilian again! :(

No Captain / Post Captain is allowed to allow anybody below minimum SL to join his ship!

But that is only my opinion, Andy has to decide this!

Matthias, Ex-Captain :kewl:

Hi

Matthias is right, except that brevet rank is held for 3 months not 6 before demotion/reversion to original rank. No captain, player or non-player, is allowed to accept a candidate that does not have the necessary SL. If already a sailor and demoted, you become a civilian.
