Hi gang, a few questions if you dont mind -

1) would it be possible for Tibrus Smith to apply for a position ie sail master in one month, try for his kickback ie sale the sails ( once per year ), change jobs on the same ship ie carpernter and then sell the wood ( once per year ) or can he only try to steal once per game year ?

2) If as sailmaster on ship 1, he trys to steel and gets it, if he changes ship and gets the same job on ship 2 can he steal again , or must he wait 1 game year.

Much thanks
Pete Smith

Each appointment would bring another opportunity for additional funds, but you will find it difficult to do because it requires a roll of 7 on 1d6 to be appointed as a ship's carpenter etc - you would get +1 for every 3 SL your character has above the minimum for the position, but generally you would need at least a level 5 favour as well to influence an NPC Naval Yards Supervisor to appoint you. Do you have friends in high places?

Stealing is a harsh term - the appointments bring with them the traditional right to "cappebar" - a perk allowing the officer to sell used or damaged equipment, such as old rope ("junk") or off-cuts of wood. It is a matter of opinion where good business becomes sharp practice, and sharp practice becomes downright stealing!
