:( Briny April1794 turn, any update please ?
aquazoo - November 24, 2007 09:56 PM (GMT)
Errrmmm, I guess it's up to me, then, to post updates.
I've had much fun converting the Excel character sheets to Appleworks and changing things so they are Carol-friendly. The beauty of using an existing character sheet is that there are no spaces for some things, like investments. So people who had those put them where they saw it as logical, just that logic never strikes twice in the same place.
(Don't fear the format, I shall send the sheets to everyone as plain text.)
Ash did the battle calcs and that's been sent to Allan to write. Stand by, Allan, I have another four characters' battle results to send you to add in.
Speaking of that logic, another thing on some character sheets are player-to-player loans. Now, personally I don't think the coordinator should need to keep track of that other than deducting & adding the amounts as ordered. It's up to characters to determine their own timing and rates of payback. I can't "enforce" that someone pay you back if they do not order it. I did offer leniency once in Elan when a new player got loans from other PCs, and ran off and died the front. I'm not likely to do that again, because it's up to players to know the character they are loaning to. If that PC does not pay you back (or leave their intention in a will), then your character is Simply Out of Luck.
If someone disagrees completely or it is different in the rules, let me know (and I will have that portion of the rules re-written). But anyway, I see myself enforcing the loans given by a bank but not those done PC to PC. I'll leave it on the sheets this turn, but please retrieve the info and keep it with your own data. That is, if you are in the habit of making loans!
Do you have a means of complaint for unpaid loans? Yes, you may call the other character a scoundrel and meet for a duel. :BD:
Anyway, I'm sorting away with as much care as possible. The A-R in my name is not for nothing!

Tank you Carol for keeping it rolling along once i have my situation sorted i will be back to support you.
Harbour Master - November 30, 2007 08:30 PM (GMT)
Carol we have a new player wanting to join he has been waiting some time can we fit him in?
aquazoo - December 2, 2007 07:33 PM (GMT)
New player? Sure, the more the merrier! Forward or have him PM to my aquazoo e-mail address and I'll roll up a character. I will need orders ASAP if he wants to jump in to this turn. The sea has already been calculated, so he will be in London without much time to consult with other players.
Progress this week: Finally satisfied with the character sheets, I've converted them over from march to April and checked the base costs & SPs. (Support, mistresses, etc.) Next I will sort the in-London orders, roll, calculate, etc. That's the meat of the turn, but I wanted to get the sheets & charts to a point where I felt organized first.
This is my busy time at work, and I have the nerve to attend a party or three as well. Gotta keep up with the holiday cholesterol intake. :s:

Social, battles and duels were sent out for writing last night, and duels came back finished this morning. :n2:
I still need to calculate the cash and points from in-London and put them onto the character sheets.
Also I need to set up a politics chart so I can sort out what's happening there.
But it's the home stretch, and hopefully when the report & character sheets come out I will not have altered things too much. :jay:

Update for today:
I started a politics chart, but I'm not sure how accurate it is since I find that section of the game a bit daunting. Looks like I need to read the rules... :HH:
The Social report should be back to me by the end of the week or weekend.
Still no word from Allan, so I don't know if he is able to write the battle or not. Ashley says he will step in and write it if necessary, so I'd love to hear from Allan as to whether or not he's working on it — then I can let Ash know what to do. :capt:
All things considered, we should have the turn resolution out before Christmas. And visions of sugarplum ships on mulled cider seas can dance in your heads. :yaw:

Can you let me know asap...so that I can set some time to one side...
cheers
Ash
aquazoo - December 12, 2007 10:57 PM (GMT)
Ok, Ashley is going to write the battle this month. Yay and thank you!
So I may well have this thing ready at the end of the weekend. :D
Wake up from your comas, everyone!
Andrew Miller - December 14, 2007 07:28 AM (GMT)
Battle report is done and back with Carol...
aquazoo - December 20, 2007 07:01 PM (GMT)
Now I just need that pesky social report. Where do we send the bribes? :poke:
Harbour Master - December 28, 2007 10:26 AM (GMT)
Carol if John does not reply soon send it to me and I will do it with the political this weekend ok?
aquazoo - December 28, 2007 03:54 PM (GMT)
On Wednesday I sent the social and politics outline to Ashley to write. If you want to write up the politics, that would be nice — less for Ash to do!
Once that is in, I can put it all together and hopefully have it ready before 2008. B)
aquazoo - December 28, 2007 05:20 PM (GMT)
Ashley sent the social write-up to me this morning!!!
I can fit the politics in as soon as I receive it.
Yay!

looks good to me carol, although I am having trouble with the tables in pdf and getting the info to the webby.....
aquazoo - December 30, 2007 05:21 PM (GMT)
There is still some tweaking needed before it's ready for general consumption. Once that is done, I can send you the elements for use on the web page.
I'm headed in to the office in a bit and can start shuffling file formats around from there. :-)
aquazoo - December 30, 2007 09:21 PM (GMT)
The PDF is now in the Files section of Yahoogroups.

I hope everyone remembered to move their three kings forward into the manger scene yesterday.
I've received quite a few errata notes and will sort through them when I get home tonight. My plan is to make up a new roster and any other charts that need to be adjusted.
We have four new players! :xcite:
And two of our no-sheet guys have emerged!
Andrew Miller - January 10, 2008 05:13 PM (GMT)
excellent news...
lets get some chat going on the list...

I've uploaded revised character & mistress rosters & ship list onto the Yahoogroups files. I did it both as PDF and Excel docs. I was getting an error message when I tried to retrieve the PDFs, so if anyone has that same trouble maybe the excel will read ok.
For mistresses, I reconstructed as best I could with the March & April info. They are now listed with half increments in status level, which should add to the confusion.
One last weekend for plotting, then get those orders ini! :BD:
:fight:
My brain hurts...
