2. Visit of Irish naval vessel, LÉ Róisín, to Piraeus
The LÉ Róisín, will be visiting the port of Piraeus from Saturday 3
June to Saturday 10 June. At the moment it is intended that it will be
open to the public from 17.00 to 19.30 on
- Sunday 4 June,
- Tuesday 6 June
- Thursday 8 June.
It will be anchored at Dock 10 (as this is the area where cruise ships
dock, it will be necessary to pass through the International Customs
Building on the Akti Xaveriou, it would be advisable to bring
identification along also). If there are any more opportunities to
visit the ship we will keep you informed but wanted to let you know as
much as possible in advance.
If anyone is interested in doing a little background reading on the
history of our Naval Service the Defence Forces website
www.military.ie gives a good overview and an explanation of the choice
of the name for the LÉ Róisín.
