Irish Literary Evening at the Vellidis Center (Thessaloniki)



On Friday evening May 26th, the Thessaloniki Book Fair in collaboration with
the Irish Embassy in Athens will be hosting a literary evening to celebrate
the 100th anniversary of the birth of Samuel Beckett. The event features a
lecture by the poet Macdara Woods joined by the translator Amy Mims. In
addition, the actress Lydia Photopoulou will give a poetry recital and the
traditional Irish group Lukeless (a.k.a. Folk U2) will close the evening
with some live music. The event begins at 9 pm in the Ritzos Room of the
Vellidis Conference Center (Helexpo) and entrance is free. All poetry lovers
and Hiberniophiles are welcome.
