Title: Episode 17 Thoughts

Rider Jetfire - July 20, 2008 06:30 PM (GMT)
NO! It can't be.... Someone more annoying THAN CHUCK!!!!!! The world must be coming to an end.

-Dang, their showing Pete not on the monitor for once.

-HOLY CRAP he's in Mark's room!

-Mark doesn't look to thrilled about Pete wanting to meet Ace. I guess Pete just doesn't understand how serious a situation this all is.

-RANDOM!!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!

-Random's eye flashed yellow for a second. Neutral mode?

-I loved how random was reflected in Lord Fear's eye glass.

-Dang, Random just takes Lord Fear's blast like it was nothing!

-Interesting how Random calls Lord Fear a scarecrow. Wonder where he made that connection?

-"I've remained in hiding for far to long." Ain't that the truth.

-"So your mooned a spice girl." Real mature action there Pete.

-Dear gosh, Pete is just a tad bit of a jerk.

-Why does Mark leave the Amulet in his locker? THEY MIGHT NEED IT TO BRING SPARX BACK!!!!

-Gosh, Pete is just annoying now.

-Ouch. I feel your pain Chuck.

-Poor Random... His scene with Anvil is painful to watch.

-PETE YOU JERKFACE!!!! WAY TO TAKE THE AMULET!!!

-See Mark, this is why YOU NEVER LET THE AMULET OUT OF YOUR SIGHT!!!

-Yeah, Pete's actor doesn't pull off the most convincing performance when he's captured by Lord Fear.

-HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Lord Fear singing is priceless.

-THAT WAS AN AWESOME SHOT when Mark comes in. That needs to go in a music video right there.

-Dear gosh Pete's actor can't act.

-Did I mentioned how Random was my favorite character in the show?

-Whoa, Ace and Fear teamed up to stop Random!

-Any scene with Ace and Random together is picture perfect.

-Next episode looks to be pretty awesome!

It's to bad how Random wasn't used enough in this episode. I WANT TO SEE MORE RANDOM!!!!!!

And dear gosh, Pete is annoying... Dare I say it... More annoying THAN CHUCK!!!! (Who actually wasn't annoying at all this episode.)

Wheeee, fantastic recap! Pete is really annoying; he's meant to be. I guess anyone'd be jealous if your friend was having big adventures...

Lord Fear's coat is ragged and he's skinny--scarecrow!

Random and Ace are so angsty together. ^_^ I think their plots repeat a bit, but I'm just remembering how good friends they are and how awesome that is.

LI just seems to conveniently pop up there at the end for Fear's purposes.

[mild spoilers & personal opinion] Don't get your hopes up for the next ep. Episode 19 is good, though. ^_^[/mild spoilers]

I have never found Chuck or Pete annoying. I love Random in this episode. :P

Rider Jetfire - July 21, 2008 11:29 PM (GMT)
Well perhaps it's just me then but I just find the two annoying, though Chuck has been getting better over the more recent episodes I've seen.

And Random is awesome in any episode he's in!

Sarah Frost - July 21, 2008 11:53 PM (GMT)
I find Chuck annoying, Pete less so (he's usually a blank slate standing in for the audience, though I can't say this episode is really one of my favourites).

Random is cool. ^_^ If only they'd done new episodes with him in...

Rider Jetfire - July 22, 2008 10:25 AM (GMT)
If only they had done more episodes period. Ace Lightning, yet another show canceled before it's time.

Rotgut - July 23, 2008 10:08 AM (GMT)
CURSE YOU BBC! Speaking of which, their entire CBBC programme block has no good shows left. It seems BBC has got rid of all of the good programmes (all from another country) and all they have now is rubbish "original" programmes that are boring beyond comprehension. If I owned BBC, I'd bring back Ace Lightning, Robot Wars and Top of the Pops to make my mum happy. :P

Scarab Dynasty - August 8, 2008 01:13 PM (GMT)
I dunno, they have a grand total of two good shows if you ask me (and both of them are kids game shows): I've been watching Raven (which is no Knightmare, but is okay) and the "Serious Jungle/Amazon/Arctic/Desert series which actually CHALLENGE and TEST the young aprticipantsd and expect them to do something other than answer questions about where the capital of France is and throw custard pies at each other.

Ace was something of a niche market, I think. I mean lookat the fans here: how may of us are late-teen and early adult (now) females rather than the target demongraphic of ten to fifteen year old males?

Scarab Dynasty - August 8, 2008 01:14 PM (GMT)
And for the record I don't dislike Chuck :P

nattherat - August 8, 2008 02:12 PM (GMT)
I'd say Young Dracula too, but that was another little niche show, with a small fandom, and canceled before it's time too.

That makes me laugh, and then feel guilty for not being the equivalent of the nations population of ten to fifteen year old males, and supporting the show enough to keep it around.

Rotgut - August 8, 2008 04:31 PM (GMT)
I think most people with brains are getting tired of watching Tracey Beaker on CBBC. Blue Peter has become boring and-well it just is dull.

nattherat - August 8, 2008 05:49 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I think CBBC is really going down the drain. Most likely due to our current trend of trying to shelter kids as much as we can. Can't show them anything other than the most mind-numbingly neutral stuff. You can't do anything any more because it will offend at least one parent.
Maybe at some point, we'll finally snap out of it and realize that pulling the wool over kids eyes is possibly the worst way ever to stop them from getting influenced by things.
Until then, we've got our fandom  Maybe we should come up with a large scale fandom project for us to all work on to keep things interesting...

Rotgut - August 8, 2008 10:35 PM (GMT)
It seems all media forms are dumbing down. Those weird soccermoms are freaking out about everything, even Spongebob Squarepants for crying out loud! You may have also heard of a jerk called Jack Thompson, who considers ALL video games to be the cause for violence in the USA - he even tried to file a lawsuit against Super Mario Bros, claiming that children were jumping on their pets! I should do a rant on this.

CBBC has gone downhill. ITV is being excellent and showing great shows every day.

But you are right Natty, we do have our fandom and as long we are around, then there is some chance of Ace Lightning remaining alive. :)

Seriously...I should do a rant!

Rider Jetfire - August 9, 2008 06:10 PM (GMT)
I would say the CBBC does have at least one good show on nowdays, and that's "The Sarah Jane Adventures" which was spun off Doctor Who. That show does anything put shelter kids and I say it's right up there with more the serious dramas of today (Granted, I don't see the shows you all get over there, since I live in America.)

And I guess I was the only one to fall into the target demographics when the show first came out?

Rotgut - August 9, 2008 07:22 PM (GMT)
Oh yeah, I like that show.

Rider Jetfire - August 9, 2008 07:57 PM (GMT)
I guess you might have fallen into that category as well Rotgut?

Rotgut - August 10, 2008 09:56 AM (GMT)
Lucky me? :P
