Title: Other Favorite TV Shows

Rider Jetfire - April 21, 2008 11:17 PM (GMT)
So I know everyone here LOVES Ace Lightning but I'm rather interested in what other shows you all love and enjoy. I have a lot of shows that I love so I'll just name a few and add more later :P

Farscape: My favorite show of all time (Though other shows are trying to chip away at it.) Never has a show entertained me nor made me care about it so much.

Doctor Who: It's Doctor Who, it's awesome.

Torchwood: Great sci fi with some excellent character pairings.

My So Called Life: The most realisticportrayal of teenage life I've ever seen. One season was not enough.

nattherat - April 22, 2008 07:00 AM (GMT)
Oooooh yes, I liked Farscape :D I haven't seen it in years though.
You'll find most (well alright, all) of my favourite shows are children's shows. Maybe I'm not looking hard enough, but I can't find anything on TV anymore for older people that isn't a load of self-indulgent crap.

Young Dracula - Pretty much one of the best shows the BBC have ever commissioned. Like all of the good shows however, its life has been cut short, at the end of the second series, regardless of the fact that the story was just beginning to get REALLY epic.

Where's Wally - I just love Wally, he's so sweet and innocent. All these people in the cartoon do terrible things around him and he's still prepared to forgive them and be their friend. Plus Odlaw, who makes the cartoon worthy by himself.

Sonic Underground - Which most people generally agree is rubbish but I love it. Possibly more because it was dear to me in childhood. Anyway, if you can ignore the fact that it goes right against the entire Sonic universe, you'll find it has a pretty decent story.

Lazytown - These shows are getting more and more juvenile as I go on, aren't they  'Sportacus and Robbie Rotten', is really all I have to say.

Mona the Vampire - I love Mona, she was an important part of my childhood too. I think I must've seen every episode of Mona. I wish they'd released the lot on DVD.

Curious George - *squee* Almost entirely because of the Man in the Yellow Hat, to be honest.

And there you have it. The list of things I will turn my TV on for, other than video games. Of course, there are a few others I like, that aren't cartoons (shock!), but in all honesty, I won't often enjoy them enough to warrent going out of my way to watch them.

Woo-hoo! Some of my favourite shows have already been mentioned.

I particularly enjoy watching Anime, Looney Tunes and Robot Wars. I am also a very big fan of Doctor Who.

Anime I like watching include: Pokemon, Digimon, Cardcaptor Sakura/Cardcaptors, Fullmetal Alchemist, Naruto, Yu-Gi-Oh, Sonic X, Ergo Proxy, Tsubasa Chronicles and Tokyo Mew Mew.

nattherat - April 22, 2008 04:48 PM (GMT)
Oooh, I'll second that pokemon and Sonic X :D However could I not include them?

Rider Jetfire - April 22, 2008 11:33 PM (GMT)
Some more awesome shows (I have a lot) :D

Kamen Rider: My favorite Japanese super heroes. A long legacy of sure awesome. Gotta love the pointless transformation and attacks calls.

Sliders: An amazing Sci Fi show that I heard got not so great after it's first two seasons, but man, THOSE FIRST TWO SEASONS WERE AWESOME!!!! A show that will really make you think about what would happen if you could travel to parallel worlds.

Jake 2.0: Yet another show cut down before it's time. A spy series fused with a bit of sci fi. An excellent combination.

I plan on making a video dedicated to my favorite "canceled before their time" TV shows.

:P I had a hunch that Kamen Rider guy would get in.

Of course he would :P

It this rider guy Japanese? It sounds Japanese.

Rider Jetfire - April 25, 2008 07:50 PM (GMT)
Kamen Rider is Japanese. Kamen means "Masked" in Japanese. Kamen Rider has be on since 1971 in Japan (With several breaks). It has been adapted two times for American audiences. The first was back in the 90's and was trying to cash in on Power Rangers popularity. The second has yet to premiere, though the trailer is out and it looks amazing.

I never really liked Power Rangers. They went flying with just a poke to the chest. I like the robot dude who went "AI-AI-AI!!!"

KR sounds nifty. I'd like to him go up against Lord Fear in a motorcycle race.

Yeah, but thankfully real, JAPANESE (and the new American version) are nothing like Power Rangers. I mean this new American series looks to be pretty awesome.

DUDE!!!! Seeing Lord Fear go up against the Kamen Riders would be AWESOME!! Though where would Lord Fear get a bike?

random_gypsy - April 26, 2008 03:44 AM (GMT)
Around season 2 I think...

Stare in awe and wonder at Lord Fear's ride - THE DOOM WAGON!!!

Rider Jetfire - April 26, 2008 10:38 AM (GMT)

Dang. That would be one epic encounter.

Rotgut - April 27, 2008 09:33 AM (GMT)
I hate to say it but Kamen might be blown away by Lord Fear. Does he have rocket boosters or special gadgets in his motorcycle? :P

Rider Jetfire - April 27, 2008 06:04 PM (GMT)
The Kamen Riders wouldn't need such things. They have far more maneuverability with their motorcycles and can really fight even while riding them.

Oh I see. I watched Final Fantasy VII Advent Children, and there were characters fighting on motorbikes a lot.

Rider Jetfire - April 27, 2008 09:02 PM (GMT)
Yeah, I saw that movie. I found it to be quite over rated, it wasn't as spectacular as everyone makes it out to be.

Rotgut - April 28, 2008 08:35 AM (GMT)
Well, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. I found it spectacular! And I've never played a Final Fantasy game in my life...unless you count Kingdom Hearts.

I would like to mention some other shows I like:
Scooby Doo
Looney Tunes (no matter how many times I watch episodes I always find them funny!)
Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Rider Jetfire - April 28, 2008 10:20 AM (GMT)
Well seeing as we have returned to the topic at hand...

Journeyman: Yet another show canceled before it's time. Very few shows have got the emotional reaction out of this show that I got. Time travel shows have never been this good. Check it out.
user posted image
Quantum Leap: Another of my favorite time travel shows. Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell rock.

Rotgut - April 28, 2008 02:49 PM (GMT)
Doctor Who is good! Journeyman sounds intriuging.

Rider Jetfire - April 29, 2008 12:08 AM (GMT)
Yep, Journeyman is worth checking it out. Like many good shows, it takes a few episodes to get going, but when it does, it really hits the ground running. I totally recommend it.

Rotgut - April 29, 2008 09:59 AM (GMT)
Hmmm...I'll think about it.

Rider Jetfire - April 29, 2008 10:15 AM (GMT)
Well it isn't a huge commitment, theirs only 13 episodes (sadly) but they are alll superb pieces of television.
