One of my friends thought the exact same thing as you about Mark's playing sick, and gave a great list of helpful tips.
FAKE BEING SICK BETTER, IDIOT! Hot shower before hand, or just hot water on the face, scrub your head with your hand before you parent's come in, and rub your tongue against the thermometer, friction creates heat, dummy! Spit on the forehead makes a nice, aprop. tacky feeling sweat if you can do it right. GET UP EARLY AND PUT YOUR HEAD UNDER THE COVERS TO RAISE YOUR CORE BODY TEMPATURE BEFORE YOUR PARENTS COME TO CHECK ON YOU!What if lightning struck the hand held Ace Lightning game, would characters come out of that game to?Good question! :) (nobody try to spoil Rider, people!)
Headphones on while you drive is legal as far as I know; driving's more about looking than hearing. Mobile phones usually aren't, though.
Chuck probably
built that lock himself. :P
Maybe Lady Illusion could have siphoned off some money from that pension.Petty theft? Bit low for a supervillain. Although I suppose she must have spied on the school and read his textbooks (as the fanwanking explanation for why Mr Cheseborough's actor pretty much acts like a crazier version of himself rather than as Lady Illusion pretending to be a teacher :P ). What would she buy with human money? (Though as that scraggy-looking Carnival guy, she's actually seen putting money in his pocket.)
Do you really think a teacher would let someone play video games in detention.Do you really think Lady Illusion cares about what some random mortal kid does in detention? :P
The fight scene in this episode was way too short, I think. Not one of LI's more formidable showings, but I guess it was a power drain to hold a morph all day.
Scarab's written
some fic on the "playmates" line in the fight after I mentioned how odd it was that Ace said "Still wanna brag about your power, playmate" when Lady Illusion
hadn't bragged. (They're prequel fics, so not very spoilery, but you might not want to look at them until after you've seen episode six if you want to avoid all possible spoilers.)
Face your fears. :) It's a slightly
Broken Aesop, because Mark's detention was more Wayne's and Cheseborough/LI's fault rather than a punishment he deserved (he only insulted Wayne in response to him picking on Chuck, and tried to stop Chuck from biting him), but it's pretty brave of Mark to walk in there, and to help Chuck. And, of course, there's the usual friendship moral between Mark and Ace.
