Title: An In-Depth Look
Description: It's that blasted topic again!

Rotgut - October 28, 2007 09:23 PM (GMT)
Yep, that's right. It's my Detail Is Everything, reformatted in a new topic. Since I can never get that blasted topic completed with seven episodes - I decided to do it all over again. Hopefully this will be a lot more in-depth and examine things, possibly with explainations this time. I'll also look out for signs which mean something for Hyperpsychomaniac.

Episode 1
*The car that drives by has no license plate at the front. Is it illegal to not have a license plate on your car?
*Mark's house is a detached two-story house (gosh, I sound like a real estate agent). There is garage, which I don't recall being used in the series. There is also a basketball hoop attached to the garage door. Whether or not that was there when the Andersons lived there is beyond me.
*Notice how Mark's game has better graphics than the ones actually released.
*Mark has an Ace Lightning mousemat which features Googler, Sparx and Random Virus on it.
*The video game's Haunted House has a nice display of swords.
*All clips shown in the opening credits are from Episode 1-8.
*Mark's room is unpacked from the move but several items can be seen from left-to-right: A rolled up poster which appears to be about astrological signs, a football, a red and white UK football scarf, a printer, a globe, a Union Jack flag, and a silver sheet thing.
*Mark has several lights in his room.
*The satellite portal is formed like sunlight reflecting on water.
*When Mark runs out of his room, if the episode is paused when lighting brightens up the room more items can be seen: A blue item with a cable, a rubber football, a rolled up Manchester United towel, and a jacket and bag behind the door.
*If you have wide-screen when you view the battle between Ace and the villains, Pigface is shot behind a tree but he freezes in place behind it.
*In Mark's kitchen, there appears to be a miniature lighthouse by the sink.
*The Amulet piece in Lady Illusion's possession is upside down.
*Interesting things of note outside Duff's trailer include the garden gnome which will house a piece of the Amulet, a pointless birdcage, butterfly decorations and other items.
*There is a sign of Duff's trailer that reads "Please respect our sterile environment. Thank you."
*If one listens closely during Duff's and Lord Fear's agreement, a train can be heard going by. The Carnival must be situated near a railway.
*Simon's car license plate is BRT-960. It appears to be a Ford model.
*Before Ace smashes through the window, a CD stereo can be seen on the left side of the room.
*Mark rolls out of his bed like a soldier would.
*Mark has a large number of footballs.
*There is a large smoking sign on Mark's wall.
*The Hollanders live at Number 266.
*When Mark sits down beside Chuck, two kids are passing homework to eachother.
*Mark's locker number is 568.
*How did that robot get out of the closet by itself?
*Ace doesn't know how to use a toilet!
*The geography teacher seen is Asian. A different one is seen in later episodes...unless there is more than one.
*Despite the fact Ace doesn't learn he is from a video game until the final episode, he seems to know in Episode 1. Can someone explain this?
*Mr. Cheseborough's badge reads "My way or the highway".
*What is "Planck's Constant"?
*The odd cage outside the Haunted House is called an Iron Maiden. It is a type of torture device where a person is placed inside a box and impaled by spikes.
*The Carnival banner indicates the canrival has been running since 1883!

Rotgut - October 28, 2007 10:17 PM (GMT)
Episode 2
*Pete's room has a roadsign of the A40 motorway in the UK. Thief!
*The website at the top of Pete's webcam is not real.
*Notice the lovely rug under Duff's television.
*There is a Wheel of Fortune in the Haunted House.
*The sped up rides are obviously previously recorded and than fast forwarded.
*Simon's mobile lawnmower is a LT155, made by some guy named John Deere. I looked it up on Google, and John Deere appears to be a garden agricultural shopping company.
*It's hard to make out what books Mark has on his bed, but one appears to be about card games. There is a red wig on Mark's shelf.
*In the Haunted House, there is a fridge, a bicycle hidden behind a desk, and a wall covered in tools and cans of paint.
*Chuck claims the game is very hard to complete. I completed in about a year and a half. :P
*In the rulebook, Pigface is shorter and has hair.
*There is a suit of armour lurking in the shadows in the Haunted House.
*Ace addresses Mark as Mario. I know, it is probably just a wrong name, but it may also be a reference to the video game character Mario.
*"Isn't this cosy, just the three of us?" - doesn't Staff Head count?
*I really don't understand how Mark can take Lord Fear on by shaking a joystick at him.
*Chuck always makes me laugh. Notice how Duff is poorly chasing after him.
*The way Pigface moves, it looks like he can fly.
*The timing of how Dirty Rat closes the gate, he should of shut it by the time Mark got there.
*Chuck's scooter's license plate reads CHUCK.
*The ice cream salesman resembles something out of the 70's.
*There is minor differences between Anvil and his rulebook form, except for a wire connected to his arm and barrel.
*Despite Anvil has a fear of dark, he spends several episodes in the future in the dark.
*Googler's puppet theatre is visible in the battle between Ace and Lord Fear.
*Ace shows a one time special power - able to fly at the speed of sound.

Rotgut - October 29, 2007 11:26 AM (GMT)
Episode 3
*There are several things in Mr. Cheseborough's lab that reference to electricity including a poster of a lightning strike. Even the video they are watching is about Benjamin Franklin.
*Judging by Dirty Rat's comment, he never went to school and was in prison with Lord Fear.
*The license plate on Duff's ice cream truck is DUFF-144.
*You'd think the students would see Lord Fear and Ace battling.
*The blast Ace took sent him all the way up to the school roof.
*Mark has a friend named Holly.
*By the carnival gate, there is a cardboard sign that reads "NO PARKING. DAY OR NIGHT".
*There is litter around Pigface's bin - he's been eating some late night snacks.
*Dirty Rat's bomb seems to be more lethal then Lady Illusion's.
*The subtitles of the episode mistake Pigface for being Anvil.
*The music played when Lord Fear kidnaps Mr. Cheseborough is "Once Upon A Dream" from Disney's Sleeping Beauty.
*Notice how Lady Illusion's design in the rulebook looks almost completely different from her actual design. Sparx is mentioned in the text.
*You'd think Mark and Chuck would actually notice Samantha behind them.
*When those two kids are walking across the screen to where Mark is, you can see the big guy with the beard - he is a regular background character. Who is he?
*The same guy appears behind Samantha when Mr. Cheseborough is revealed.
*Why does Duff have buses in his carnival?
*Googler's puppet theatre is seen in the battle between Ace and Pigface.
*When Lord Fear goes in his second round of laughter, you will notice it is a different person voicing him. Lady Illusion sounds pretty scary when laughing.

Rotgut - October 29, 2007 04:40 PM (GMT)
Episode 4
*It is fairly obvious Lord Fear is enjoying himself tormenting Mark.
*You'd think some of the pedestrians would notice an ice cream truck chasing a buis, with a skeleton at the wheel.
*Lord Fear is stronger than he looks - he managed to bring down that telephone pole.
*Only a couple of minutes haved past since the scenes between Mr. Cheseborough and the villains, but it looks like the poor man has been tortured severly!
*What is in that food Mrs. Kutcher gives to the students?
*I don't really understand how a simple pea can cause Chuck to hurl.
*Chuck's unseen eruption comes with the sounds of a pig.
*The cutting together with Chuck's cheeks expanding is done pretty poorly.
*The noise used to make Dirty Rat's wings flap can be copied by moving toes over the other set of toes....something I can do anyway.
*Lady Illusion enjoys sharpening pencils.
*Even though Ace is disguised as a janitor, he isn't cleaning the floors very well.
*Chuck's interpretation of the Kumbaya song is hilarious!
*I am rather surprised Mrs. Kutcher was attracted by the battle in the cafeteria.

Nice observations, Rotgut!

Planck's Constant is a fundamental constant, equal to the energy of a quantum of electromagnetic radiation divided by its frequency, with a value of 6.626 × 10 −34 joule-seconds. It's a physics thing. :P

Rotgut - November 1, 2007 02:23 PM (GMT)
Thank you for that, Sarah. It sounds complicated.

Where did Chuck get that from?

Scarab Dynasty - February 4, 2008 08:33 PM (GMT)
Oooh the joyds of the youthful, observant mind.. .8sigh* I can dream of the days ... :P *is old and crooked*

I'm... not aware that he does know. In fact I'm fairly certain that he doesn't. How do you think this is so?

BWAHA! Now THAT'S observation! Can't believe I didn't notice that XD

QUOTE
Lady Illusion enjoys sharpening pencils.

Freud would have a field day with you,v RG :P. Personally I think she just likes imagining what she can stick the sharp points into (oh, lor, sounds like Freud would have a field day with ME, too XD)

QUOTE
I don't really understand how a simple pea can cause Chuck to hurl.

Spokemn like a man who's never HAD a green vegetable sitting in his pudding XD Yeeeeuch! :P

How... amusing. Now, explain it again, with smaller words, for those of us without degrees, my love :P

Rotgut - March 26, 2008 09:59 AM (GMT)
Episode 5 (thought I'd continue with this)

*Where did Lord Fear and Anvil get that cutout from?
*Throughout the episode, Anvil's horn keep swapping directions.
*Lord Fear's graphics seem to be not as good as they usually.
*Question: If the observatory is a public place, how come no one visits when the Lightning Knights move in.
*Notice that the radioactive guy is Mr. Cheseborough!? Most interestingly, the meteor shouldn't crack open like an egg.
*Ace would look good with a cape.
*Mark can be really dense at times.
*Chuck has terrible aiming, but as we know, he gets better.
*Judging by Ace's reaction to Ashley's comments, they don't have cartoons in the Sixth Dimension. Pity. :(
*I would like to point out that when Dirty Rat's head appears in the toy stand, there is a Togepi (Pokemon) at the bottom of the screen. I expect its just there coincidentally, but it may be a reference to video games.
*Mark really ruins Dirty Rat's fun.
*The parts of this episode have some of the best animation in the series.
*It is rather ironic Lord Fear decided to prolong the agony long enough for Ace to reach the charger thing.
*Ace seems to lift Anvil with ease in this episode, but in later episodes, he can barely lift the big guy off the ground.

Rotgut - March 26, 2008 10:12 AM (GMT)
Episode 6
*As seen in this episode, Lady Illusion's rather drone-like character suddenly breaks into action and awesome character development.
*Pete has a tennis racket in his room.
*When Lady Illusion becomes a dog, you see that she has one of the unfound pieces of the Amulet. It is never explained how she got her hands on it, and where does it go later? And how did she get her hands of Lord Fear's piece?
*I highly recommend the close-ups of Chuck eating his French cuisine, it ain't pretty.
*There is an apparent chess club in the school.
*If Ace has never seen a bathroom before...how does he...you know. ;)
*Conestoga Hills seems to have a Department of Health - it says that on the posters in the toilets.
*Chuck seems to be eating fine when Mark returns to the cafeteria, but by the time Mark sits down, Chuck suddenly seems to be suffering.
*HOW DOES LADY ILLUSION KNOW HOW TO USE A MOBILE PHONE???
*Ace x Lady Illusion rocks!
*Samantha is clearly overreacting when Mark has ditched.
*Mark: Love conquers all! Screw the rulebook!
*How can Chuck's scooter go about on its own?
*When Lord Fear wallops Ace with Staff Head, it sounds like he is punching him.
*You do wonder, why is Lord Fear and Lady Illusion dating. Notice their age comparison!

Rotgut - March 26, 2008 10:33 AM (GMT)
Episode 7

*I like the joke Wayne makes about Lord Fear and Marilyn Manson.
*Mark is very suspicious of ice cream trucks. I wonder what would have happened if it was a normal safe truck?
*Insects are full of protein?
*One would think that someone would notice a police officer walking about wearing a mask, or a flying rat and a jester hovering around outside a carnival ride.

Sorry, not many things to comment on in this episode.

And how did she get her hands of Lord Fear's piece?

Same way she gets her hands on Lord Fear? :P She keeps it for him in episodes one and two, and in ep 8, "Behind the Mask", even Duff knows where he stores the thing.

The CGIs probably just have very efficient digestive capabilities (and don't *need* to eat, except possibly Pigface). :P

QUOTE
HOW DOES LADY ILLUSION KNOW HOW TO USE A MOBILE PHONE???

It's Ace's phone, they exist in the 6D.

It's hard to find reasonably attractive love your own age when you're immortal/undead, isn't it?! ^^ Funnily enough, most stories involving undead/immortal protagonists do tend to pair them with a younger mortal; I don't see much of vampire/vampire or Tolkien elf/Tolkien elf getting centre stage--it's all Beren/Luthien, Arwen/Aragorn, Buffy/Spike, Drizzt/Cattie-brie, Dracula/Mina... I figure as long as both people are at least adults (encountering a elf/human where he was a few thousand and she was still a teenager squicked me like whoa) it's okay...

I liked episode seven. The musical moment was pretty decent, and Googler is cool.

Oh, well. Love is a difficult thing. Never been in a relationship myself.
