Title: Steve Irwin was killed
ShadowCat - September 4, 2006 05:53 AM (GMT)
I just heard about it on the radio. I was shocked. I couldn't believe it. I can't imagine what his poor family must be going through.
A lot of people are going to miss him.

He was taken out by a stingray. His wife was mountain hiking when she heard about it. The crocodile hunter has been hunted. :( Rest in peace, Crikey Man (never learnt his name). It must be difficult for you Aussies, losing one of the greatest Australians showbiz people ever. The only other Australian people I know of is the cast of Neighbours.

I've never met Steve but I have met his wife Terri. It's gonna be really hard for his family and all the people who work with him at the zoo.

I feel sorry for his family as well not that the media is helping much. The media remind me of pirahnas

Yeah! I feel really sorry for Terri and the kids. It's going to be incredibly hard for them. I hope the media are understanding and don't make things harder for them.

When I found out that it was true i felt so sick. He was only 44! But he did think that someday all of that dangerous stuff he does would take its toll.
I was at school and just after lunch everyone was asking if anyone had heard whatd happened to steve erwin. Some people said hed died but most didnt believe them. Everyone thought it was just a stupid rumour. Im so upset that it wasnt.
Imagine that, wrestling crocodiles and some of the most dangerous animals on earth and u get killed by a stingray whilst filming a documentary on the marine animals that can kill you! Kinda ironic.
I feel sooooo bad for his family. His poor wife is going to miss him so much because he has such a loud personality, things would seem so quiet after he was gone. And then his daughter Bindi, she practically modelled her life on him! And Bob, hes so young hell hardly remember his dad. Although he could always watch the video tape of his dad dangling him in front of a croc.
Im really gonna miss Steve. I didnt partically like his style of doing things, but it was all for the good of the animals, which is the important part. He really loved his family and nature, he was a good guy.
Steve was such an Aussie icon too. Like think of all the ppl over the world that had heard of the croc hunter. All the japanese tourists, the american tourists, the european tourists..... etc. He is like a picture of what ppl thought we were like.
Im so sad that he died, there goes a great Aussie icon.
(I wonder if his last word was 'Crickey!')

I think that documentary was going to be his last one, too.

Yep, ur right. I think that thats a big case of irony.

It was all over our Karate Class too. My sensei was a fan of his and I always enjoyed those shows. I was kinda in awe of all the stuff he did.

:(

I think he did a lot for Australian wildlife, especially crocodiles. And the environment in general.
LightningFlash - September 4, 2006 11:24 PM (GMT)
Megan came home from school and said "I can't believe Steve irwin's dead!" That was the first I'd heard of it, and I didn't believe it.
I always thought he'd die of old age . . . .
Scarab Dynasty - September 4, 2006 11:34 PM (GMT)
Didn't we all?
The rumours were suppsoedly all over my friend em's school today, too. Again, nobody believed it. Who would? He was The Crocodile Hunter!
hyperpsychomaniac - September 5, 2006 07:41 AM (GMT)
Poor guy. That's no way to go. I saw on the net today that they figured out he died instantly. So he wouldn't have even known what hit him. :(
Kitty - September 5, 2006 09:23 AM (GMT)
Yeah, youre sorta right. In an interview with steve's manager after he had watched the tape of him dying he said that he had died almost instantly, but he felt it go in and actually tried to pull it out. Then he died. He died in a couple of seconds after it went in. Horrible.

They should not have that on TV, it should be up to the family. As I said 'pirahnas'
Sparx - September 7, 2006 05:27 AM (GMT)
I doubt that footage will ever be aired on TV. One of the people from the company who owns the copyright to all of Steve's tapes said that they will never release it. I've also heard that they will destroy it if the family asks them to.
Kitty - September 7, 2006 10:47 PM (GMT)
Yeah, they'll neva show it. And rightly so.
