Title: Weaponry
Sarah Frost - August 22, 2006 08:03 AM (GMT)
I think I'll just throw a couple of questions out and see if any of them catch anyone's interest. :)
- What weapon on the show would you like to have?
- What weapon do you think is the best/coolest/most effective?
- Would you like to see any of the characters using a different weapon to the normal?
- Do you think any of the weapons provide keys to the characterisation of their owners?
- What other weapons could the characters use/would you like to see them use?
And now I've said 'weapon' more than enough times for me to start rolling around on the floor in Freudian glee, I'll leave you all to it. :P

I'd want the Sword of Jacob, especially if I could dissapear it. :D Not only can it zap, slice, and stab, but you can club people with the handle, too!
It think it says something about Sparx' personality in that you can't miss it, and there's no mistaking that she can and will use it anytime she's got it out. But, like her personality, it can also be used against her . . . .
Scarab Dynasty - August 22, 2006 11:28 PM (GMT)
*nod* yup, sparx to a tee is the sword of jacob, and it'd be a cool weapon.
To be honest I'd rather use my body than any particular weapon. I mean, the body is a weapon in itself and having learned how many individual ways there are to paalyse or otherwise maim someone with your own hands and feet (not to be used when other options are available of course. I AM supposed to be a pacifist, but... guess it's hypocritical of my to call myself such when I learn a martial art.
On the other hand, I understand the point of learning a amrtial art so that you may not use it. Though I haven't quite grasped the cocncept yet - being ABLE to use killing moves to protect yourself but choosing not to is... a complicated area that I don't quite comprehend yet. It seems unnseescarily prideful to feel the need to be capable of killing someone so that you can then choose not to... but maybe I have the wrong end of the stick.
Wow... talk about digressing, but back to the point) ...I prefer the hands on approach :P

I have always had a thing for swords, so the Sword of Jacob.
But I'd say the best weapon on the show would have to be the lightning canon that Mark uses. Easy to hide, powerful and it doesn't hinder your ability to fight. I'd say it suits Mark, because all through season one he saw himself as powerless, and now with the cannon, it helps Mark be who he has always been all along. (And I happen to think Mark is a cool character, it's Kat that gets me all  )
And off topic but, the Lightning falsh would be so cool to ride, fast, manueverable, responds to your commands, what could be a better ride?

I'm more of a power person. I just love the idea of having super powers. I particularly like the idea of being able to turn invisible, morphing, transporting (There's a better word for that but i forgot it) , read and be able to place thoughts in others minds, etc. etc.
I think of all the evil and kind stuff i could do with those powers and i get sorta excited, not cause i think i could get those powers, but just cause my plans are sooo funny. I could get all my fav couples together.
But nyways, this should relate to AL so i suppose id like LI's powers best. If you count them as a weapon. Morphing, transporting, seeing what others are doing, trapping people, climbing up walls, and shooting powerful shiny balls, that's my idea of fun.
If u dont count powers as weapons, i like the soj as well.
hyperpsychomaniac - August 23, 2006 09:50 AM (GMT)
Hmm... does Random controlling machinery count as a weapon? :P That'd be good because you'd be able to use almost anything around. (Machines are everywhere ;) )
I think the Shield of Justice would be handy. Especially if you couldn't afford to get hit. It does seem a bit bulky though.
I'd say I'd like some sort of wrist cannon best. They're always at your fingertips. ;)

which is fine unless you're gonna make a cup of tea :P
hyperpsychomaniac - August 24, 2006 06:12 AM (GMT)
Unlike Ace, I would not be inclined towards blasting things, as I do know that you're not supposed to. :P
allison lightning - August 24, 2006 07:14 AM (GMT)
The topic was about the weapons but I'd have to go with L.Illusion's powers!
:D
Sarah Frost - August 24, 2006 08:07 AM (GMT)
It'd more sensible to go with LI's powers, since she does seem to have the most of them, but I'll go for Ace's bcause of the flying. (Though I think she levitates while she's morphed into him in ep 39, and there's no reason why she couldn't manage a bird or a pterodactyl or something.)
Mark's SGoD certainly seems easier to use than a Lightning Lance, though it mightn't be as powerful. Ace's ring-of-fire upgrade looks pretty damn cool, though. And of course the Flash rocks, AND it has spiky teeth. :P
And swords are so much fun. You need skill to use them properly, though. In high school for a video, I had to fence with a guy in the class with metre rulers and gave him a couple of wounds. :s
Isn't that what the Themiscyrans do, Scarab? Practice the arts of war in order to secure peace?
Maybe the hands-on approach involves more skill, or reminds you of exactly what you're doing. But from a distance is usually an easier way of killing people.

*pets teh cute Sarah who has been doing her research* It's backwards logic if you ask me, but :P
The SGoD might not be as powerful, but it's certainly easier to use and I'd probably opt for the agility it offers.

Random thought, I think that if a third series had been made or whatever they should have made a new character with nunchucks or given an old character nunchucks. (If that makes sense :P )
I just love nunchucks, although they're illegal in Aus. Its not like id use them to hurt someone, i just like the idea of being able to use them AND tell someone I know (Especially my teachers) how to use nunchucks. (Mwah ha ha ha, I can see their scared faces now)
The idea of nunchucks came to me as I *Sniff* watched one of those extra bigggest loser episodes, the short versions. This was the first family one and at the beginning Jillian was twirling nunchucks. I'm just like wow, that s cool, i want them!
But anways, (Woops I went on another tangent!) I can seriously imagine a character in AL using nunchucks. Or maybe that's too anime for AL, hmmmm.......
(Oh My Gosh, I just realised iv become an advanced member with three little green blocks! *Sniff* Id just like to thank my family and my friends and oh of course God and my fans. Thankyou, thankyou for this opportunity! :P )
Scarab Dynasty - August 25, 2006 09:54 PM (GMT)
*pets Kitty*
I've tried using nunchucks and by Zoar, they're way more difficult to utilise than the TV stunt actors would have you believe. I think you're more likely to hurt yourself than anyone else. Needless to say it was the ONLY time I ever touched the things.
Kitty - September 1, 2006 05:51 AM (GMT)
*Sigh*
If only I could get lessons with Bob and Jillian. *Sigh, sigh, sigh*
Scarab Dynasty - September 1, 2006 12:25 PM (GMT)
Kitty, somehow I feel relieved that there will be noone practising nunchucks anywhere in this forum...
Let them go, Kitty. We all have to deal with this at some point :P
Kitty - September 2, 2006 09:37 AM (GMT)
*Crosses arms* *Humph!* I WILL NOT NOT NOT GIVE THEM UP!!!! NO WAY, NO CHANCE!!!!!
*Sobs, sobs, sobs* I just miss them soooooooo much...... Calm down, must try to stay on topic. This is an AL message board not a Biggest Loser forum...... Maybe i should make one..... *Sobs, sobs, sobs*
*Calms down* I just need something to console me......
Maybe, maybe one of you very talented drawers could draw me a picture? Maybe one of Ace and LI and another one of Bob and Jillian. Im just asking though, u dont have too. I just really like all the other drawings on the fanfic fanart section. They're so pretty. But yeah, u dont have to. But then again, itll probably help me get over them so u potentially could shut me up about Bob and Jillian. Thats a big reward for all of you. So yeah, anyone up for the challenge. If so, I just got a photo bucket account so maybe I could get you two pics to draw in that cool stlye, like the sparx and LI sword fight one or the kellamy pic. Any takers, pretty please?
Scarab Dynasty - September 2, 2006 03:55 PM (GMT)
Kitty, sweetie?
Please control yourself and go leave a request comment in the fanart section. I will quite happily draw you whatever you wish :P

Personally, I'd use the sword! The cannon is cool, but it's a bit hard to hit things when they're too far away for me to see them. :) And I like swords. They're sharp and shiny!
But I'm a pacifist, anyway.
Alax-3 - September 20, 2006 05:36 PM (GMT)
I've always been fans of those wrist shooters of Ace's...always there so you'll have them right away even if you get surprised, have so many applications. They're what I'd pick to have.
Rotgut - September 20, 2006 05:37 PM (GMT)
I like his wrist cannons too. And welcome to our little board Alax-3. *goes to hug Alax-3 but falls to pieces*
Scarab Dynasty - September 20, 2006 08:03 PM (GMT)
*sigh* Rotgut... what did I tell you about falling apart?
Well I'M not putting him bACK together this time.
And hi, Ajax. The wrist cannons rock, but I sometimes wonder if there's a risk to your hands of if the energy is projected FROM the hands.
Sarah Frost - September 20, 2006 09:36 PM (GMT)
Yup. Welcome, Alax. :)
I used to imagine the risk to one's hand was the reason why Ace wore gloves, and if he didn't his hands would be all blackened and crippled. :P But he's made of electricity ('blue blood', ironically enough), so that's not an option.
Simon seemed pretty affected by the wrist cannon. It's called a 'superconductor'; maybe it draws a charge from the person using it (we have electrical signals in our brains) and magnifies that by lots rather than generating it all on its own (though it'd do some of that, of course). It doesn't seem to have an external power supply; probably it gets some of that from the game, though I bet some of it is Mark.

She'd probably have to know what a pterodactly looked like in order to turn into one.
Sword of Jacob. I love swords. Swords that can shoot lightning bolts I love even more.
Sarah Frost - October 4, 2006 12:15 PM (GMT)
I bet they have pterodactyls in the Sixth Dimension. Or harpies ('Harpix', as Scarab calls them). Phoenixes (flamebirds?). Maybe a dragon or two. :P
Swords are always cool.
(*does not make phallic symbol joke*)
Scarab Dynasty - October 10, 2006 10:00 PM (GMT)
Oh, Sarahness :P we all know Sparx is forced in a masculine direction anyway.
He makes a good point with the knowing things before she can morph them. thoughpresumably she can mix and match her morphs a little, or else there's a real felicity walking arounf somewhere.
