They are finally showing us season nine. But they have given it little to no advertising and it has been dumped at 11.00 at night :angry:

Anyway Avalon Pt 1 was to say the least, good and I was apprehensive considering the new characters. I felt very sorry for Lt Colonel Mitchell, imagine thing you are going to get to lead SG1 and then having no unit members!

Vala, was the best new character, the chemistry she has is just so natural! And funny, hee hee poor Daniel. The flirting is so a great part of her character.

I haven't been watching SG1 for ages. Is Jackson still alive? Is his wife still under the control of that evil guy from the film? Is everybody else alive? And what happened to the bald commander guy (not Tuht, the black guy)? Is he still around? :blink:

I had to tape it! It was on too late to watch. I'm debating on whether I should try to put it onto a DVD. I don't think I will. Our DVD recorder has been fussy about what discs it'll work with and I don't have many good discs left. Maybe I'll keep the tape and wait until I get more discs!

I had to tape it, and just watched it today. I quite liked it, and I actually thought Mitchell was a pretty good character. I think it's obvious he's sort of getting the job of replacing Jack's humour, but his is a different kind of humour and I found him funny. I'll be putting on the VCR for it if it keeps playing so late however. My brain doesn't work that late.

Yeah. I wish they'd have it on at an earlier time because it's such a good show.

It was on rather late, but for once my insomnia comes in handy! Mitchell was okay, although as I said, Vala get's my vote for outstanding new character.

The movie was good- I didn't watch it every day of the summer when I was eleven for nothing. But I prefer the series and it's spin off Stargate Atlantis.

The black guy is called Teal'c not Tuht, and the 'bald guy' General Hammond left in Season 7, he got promoted.

When Sha're (Daniel's wife)got taken over, it was by Apophis's queen(which is from the pilot) and she died Season 3, 'Forever in a Day'.

All members of SG1 are alive.
Sam Carter, Teal'c and Daniel Jackson are still with the team.

Jack O'Neill (Season 1-8) and Jonas Quinn(Season 6) are no longer with the team. They have other responsibilities now.

Janet Fraiser died in Heroes Pt1 & 2. She was the head doctor up until season 7.

I like the series way better than the movie. I watched the movie after I started watching the series.

Same here! I watched the pilot and season one then I watched the movie!
Why the movie is good: Highly competant/scary goa'uld- The supreme system lord Ra (Egyptian Sun god).

Still the series is by a long way better than the movie.

That's what I liked about it too. There were also some funny parts that I liked as well. I can't remember what they were right now, though.
