Title: There's good news...
Description: ...and bad news.

Scarab Dynasty - September 10, 2005 06:54 PM (GMT)
The good news is that I'm not the owner of a PC version of Ace Lightning. Preowned but seemingly in good condition. The BAD news is that it doesn't actually appear to be working >_< well it DID... for a total of five minutes. :(

Sarah when your copy of the game died on you, you didn't by any chance suddenly see the screen turn bright red and dodgy did you? Or does anyone else have any ideas about what might be up?

Sarah Frost - September 10, 2005 06:59 PM (GMT)
Nope, not red. Can't help, sorry.

Scarab Dynasty - September 10, 2005 07:12 PM (GMT)
Sarah do you EVER sleep?

hyperpsychomaniac - September 12, 2005 06:27 AM (GMT)
You weren't playing during a lightning storm were you?! Did you look outside?! :P ... Sorry. I only have the PS2 version, and mine worked fine. (Except I can't find the bonus levels that is says are there!)

RG, you have the game, you got the PC or PS2 version?

Scarab Dynasty - September 12, 2005 02:12 PM (GMT)
Nope, I checked the weather beforehand. No lightning storms :P Probably a fault in the game.

Rotgut - September 12, 2005 04:23 PM (GMT)
Get a PS2 version, but get a PS2 first if you haven't got one. Speaking of games, I've unlocked all of the characters on Super Smash Bros. And even better, I finally got the Ace Lightning Yearbook! And it has been confirmed that Zoar is a man. No bad for one day! :D

Scarab Dynasty - September 12, 2005 04:25 PM (GMT)
I know nothing about Super smash bros, but well done all the same.

And the problem with getting a PS2 version of Ace Lightning is that it's impossible - you can only get it preowned and it's very rare :( I was lucky enough to find the PC version.

How has it been confirmed that he's a guy btw? Can you post your explanation in the Zoar section - Television show section?

Rotgut - September 27, 2005 02:36 PM (GMT)
I have the PC version (in fact, I have all three versions) and no weird red and dodgy screen appeared on mine. What kind is your computer? 98? 99? XD?

Scarab Dynasty - September 27, 2005 06:24 PM (GMT)
Neither. It's XP. But I think I'm missing a 3D graphics card of some sort. Will ask my uncle about it.

hyperpsychomaniac - September 28, 2005 01:29 AM (GMT)
Graphics card might be it actually. Some PC games require them, it's usually written on the back where it has all the other stuff about what windows program it can run on and stuff. I think you may be able to get ones to add on to the computer, but I don't really know. Mine came with one anyway. :P

And, RG, I'd be really interested to know the differences between the games. :)

Rotgut - September 28, 2005 08:23 AM (GMT)
Oh for the love of Zoar! Not a graphics card! My friend, Christopher, bought Lego Star Wars game for his PC, but he needed a graphics card. He got one, but it still didn't work. Those cards are really irritating!

The differences in the games are fairly interesting, and there are a lot of them. I'll start a new topic.

hyperpsychomaniac - September 28, 2005 10:14 AM (GMT)
Thank you. :D

Scarab Dynasty - October 13, 2005 08:06 PM (GMT)
Thanks Rotgut, and do continue it even though.. .well... The good news has just been renewed :D Ace Lightning PS2 version was found by moi on sale in GAME today :D this is a happy, happy day!

Though to burst a few bubbles if we’re to compare the game in the series with the game in the… well, game, there seems to be canonical evidence that LI was at least programmed to FLIRT with Ace :P
Oh and : “I feel the power?” what the HECK was THAT all about? one cliché too many there Ace :P I love it, despite.

hyperpsychomaniac - October 14, 2005 05:23 AM (GMT)
The 'I feel the power' line was the reason I thought the Lightning Juice contained alcohol. He certainly seems to like it. :P

Sarah Frost - October 14, 2005 09:18 AM (GMT)
I go for the belief that the game in our world is hardly like the game in Mark's world--I'd assume the latter's far more sophisticated, considering how popular it apparently is--and as it's both canon and makes sense that "in the game they weren't meant to fall in love" (blasting and not PowerOfLove being how one defeats bad guys in video games, my version of Rick not QUITE that stupid as to bring her to Earth with the knowledge that she was likely to betray Lord Fear) I'm going to rationalise the our-world version out of existence. Poof!

FeArdantane - October 14, 2005 12:28 PM (GMT)
Ditto Sarah.

The one we have was made quickly, it really needed a lot more work to have interested serious gamers therefore I highly doubt it is an accurate version of what the AL world had.

Yes in some senses the game is dissapointing though I still find it very fun :) and it DOES seem far more well developed in the version on the show (there are actually cutscenes and not just silly comic style pics, for example.)
