Title: Villain Histories, Revised

Rotgut - July 25, 2005 05:29 PM (GMT)
Remember when I did my own versions of the villains' pasts and how they came to be. Well I've decided to redo the stories of the villains and also many of the minions that appear in the game, and some of my own characters. I shall even write why the Carnival of Doom became what it was. So sit back, get comfortable and save your remarks until the whole thing is over with. (I may have to stop half way, because my sister pushes me off the computer...alot!)

The Carnival of Doom
The Carnival of Doom was built in 1653, known as the Carnival of Dreams. It was run by Lord Wolfgang Fearofski (Lord Fear) and his best friend Edward Croaker (Staff Head). Fearofski's girlfriend at the time was Lady Elizabeth Mystique (Lady Illusion). Upon the opening of the carnival, a mysterious old woman warned Fearofski that the carnival would bring many demises to people, but Fearofski ignored her warnings. There were several weird people who worked at the carnival: Damian Ratticun (Dirty Rat), Arnold Swine (Pigface), Lester Hammerhead (Anvil) and Richard Tinkley (Googler). However, many deaths did occur in and all around the carnival. Even all of the main people died at the carnival, including Fearofski. It was then in 1883, that Fearofski found himself not dead, but a living skeleton. He also found out that everyone else who had died there had becomes freaks. Shape-shifters, mutant animals and plants, living furniture and zombies and vampires. The Carnival of Dreams then became the Carnival of Doom, becoming the centre of evil!

Lord Fear
Lord Wolfgang Fearofski was a famous organist who travelled the world with his best friend, Edward Croaker, whom would become Staff Head. Fearofski's love interest was Elizabeth Mystique, whom would become Lady Illusion. When the Carnival of Doom opened, Fearofski took the Haunted House as his domain and played spooky organ music on the organ in the haunted house. But, the mysterious woman who warned him of the carnival's evilry, also warned him that the organ he played was cursed. Fear ignored her, but as soon as he began playing again, the organ lid slammed down on his fingers, squashing them. Fear freed himself, but had lost his ability to play the organ. In his misery, he hung himself from the organ and presumably died. But Lord Fear discovered that he was not dead, and was now 352 years old and a living skeleton. He soon discovered that practically everyone in the carnival had died and had also rose as zombies or mutant freaks. Lord Fear then went into research to see what had happened ever since he had died and read of the Lightning Knights and the Amulet, leading to his evil self.

Staff Head
Edward Croaker was Lord Fear's best friend and assistant. He never got into a fight with his friend, and even enjoyed Fear's organ music. About one month after Fear hung himself, Croaker went to a visit the local fortune teller, who predicted that Croaker would become a frog. Edward critisised the fortune teller's predictions and then she turned him into a winged toad. In horror he fled, but in the process, he tumbled down a hill and collided with a pile of stick. One stick fused with his back, while another flew into the back of his head and stabbed him, killing him instantly. He was then revived as Staff Head.

Lady Illusion
Lady Elizabeth Mystique was a mysterious fortune teller and gypsy woman who was born with her powers. She was dating Lord Fear at the time, but he mysteriously died, followed by Croaker. One day, Elizabeth was practicing her fighting skills with a invisible foe, but she accidentally dropped one of her bombs and it exploded, sending her flying backwards into an ornate mirror, the glass stabbing her in the back. She then collapsed on the floor, dead. She then was mysteriously brought back to life and she and Lord Fear were reunited.

Anvil
Lester Hammerhead was the strongman at the carnival, flexing his muscle and showing his awesome strength. Lester was very intelligent as well. One night, Lester was testing out the new strength machine in the carnival and he smashed the hammer so hard that the bell flew off the machine and hit him in the head. Lester suffered from brain damage and then fell backwards into a pile of old junk. The stuff came tumbling down on him and he was buried alive, an iron anvil crushed his right hand. He was then revived as a mutant rhinoceros and discovered that the anvil, along with a barrel and trash can lid and had fused to his body.

Dirty Rat
Damian Ratticun was a sneaky carnie who came from a family of thieves. He was born a midget and scurried around the carnival like a rat. He liked to steal things from customers and had an obsession with cheese. One night, Damian ventured up to the top of the haunted house for unknown reasons, but he was suddenly attacked by a rat and a vampire bat. Then a bolt of lightning randomly struck the spot where Ratticun was standing and he died, his body falling off the roof and onto the ground. He then was ressurected as a Vampire Rat, half rat/half vampire bat.

Pigface
Arnold Swine was a poor fat peasent who liked hanging around the carnival and when the carnival was closed, he raided the trash cans for discarded food. Lord Fear took pity on Arnold and allowed him to live in the carnival, seeing the fat man as a human trash can. One night, Arnold found a full birthday cake in a trash can and ate it whole. But Arnold then died on food poisoning and was ressurected as a dim-witted, food-obsessed pig.

Googler
Richard Tinkley was a man who loved glovepuppets and so became the puppet master in the puppet show booth. He liked putting on shows with his own hand-stitched glovepuppets, Zip and Snip. However, the kids didn't seem to take his work seriously. One day, Richard was pretending that Zip and Snip were having an argument, but he tripped backwards and a weird spiked shield fused his back. He then died when the puppet show booth collapsed on him. He then rose up again as the Googler and his puppets were alive. Googler became insane and he battled Ace Lightning on his own, and Ace defeated him and put him in a pyscho home. Googler then found a weird portal and was sucked into it, coming out in the Carnival of Doom. Googler was so crazy, that he had thought Ace had sent him to a place called White Hot Oblivion.

Rotgut
Rotgut's real name is unknown, but records say that in the old ghost town that is near the carnival, Rotgut was a friendly sherrife who was a little dumb. He died after he went to get some gold from the old gold mine, but part of the mine collapsed on him. His hands and feet were broken off. When the townsfolk found his mangled body, they buried him and badly sewed his body parts back on. Rotgut's grave then became part of the carnival's golf course.

To be continued...

Revisd eh? I like it. Especially the idea of it originally being called "carnival of dreams". Not sure if I can see LF in that kind of carnival-owning role, but the theory is very good :) Your new names are pretty good too. Especially Anvil's.

I do not know much about the seventeenth century, and I'm not sure carnivals existed per se, but I do know that at no time would a member of the upper echelons of society personally attend to such things. It's an interesting origin story, and I like some of the names, but it feels too thrown-together, as though you were trying to include absolutely everything in the carnival in a fusion with the real world, and it's somewhat uncomfortable. I'd suggest going totally AU, maybe with Fear as, say, Mister Mort, who owns a large entertainment business, with office ornament named Lady and various employees, and Ace as a policeman investigating vast corruption and criminal activities...

Anyway, here are some more histories of villains: from the game and my own.

Googler's Big Top
The circus of the carnival. Underneath this giant circus tent is a madhouse of mayhem. There have been countless deaths in this circus. For instance, during a performance, one of the audience stands mysteriously collapsed, killing everyone sitting on it, and another time was when a popcorn seller was handing out buckets to people, when a cannonball flew out of no where and rip through his body, killing him...?

Cheeky Monkeys
There were seven monkeys in the circus: Cheeky, Mischeif, Coconut, Bananas, Molly, Kasumi and Mick. They all worked together and the audience used to love their "Monkey in the Barrel" act. But they all perished one by one. Cheeky fell off a trapeze and died when he impacted the floor, Mischeif choked on a banana, Coconut was crushed by a falling wooden plank, Bananas was said to have gone bananas and hung himself, Molly was found dead in a pit outside the circus with a dagger in her chest, Kasumi drowned in a bucket of water and Mick was run over by a clown car.

Fluffy the Lion
This fierce predator was able to launch his own teeth out of his mouth and somehow regain them. He was also victorious with and slayed a lot of tamers. In one performance, a tamer smacked Fluffy in the head with a stool, and the lion's teeth flew out and then pierced the beast's heart!

Strongman
The Strongman is the stronghouse of the circus, and walks about showing off his strength with a pair of dumbbells. One night, while he practiced his abilities, he threw his dumbbells into the air, but they came falling down and crushed his skull, killing him.

Thrasher the Bear
Thrasher was a grizzly bear, trained to walk about on a circus ball. He was called Thrasher, for his sharp claws and sharp teeth. He was tamed to be friendly, but deep inside him, he wanted to break free and taste blood. During the course of one night, Thrasher killed his trainer and went on a rampage across the circus tent. It was only when he reached the circus ring that he slipped off his ball and fell to the floor, and banged his head so hard on the floor that it killed him.

Acrobat Man
The Acrobat Man's name is unknown. He is famous for his amazing acrobats. He was one of nine brothers who all did acrobats, but they soon all died. Acrobat Man met his end, when performing a super somersault, but his costumes snagged on a spike hanging out the top of the tent and he tumble down to the ground, his body doing 180 degree spin, before he hit the floor and died.

Nellie the Elephant
This massive elephant lived in the circus rings, patrolling the outside and not really caring much. She died when a pole collapsed on her and her sisters, Kelly and Shelly.

Rocky the Elephant
This elephant had been taught to walk on two legs and also how to punch. Rocky developed his own dreams of becoming a boxing champion. (imagine an elephant inventing boxing! ) He stayed backstage most of the times, looking up at the stars through a hole in the roof. Rocky unfortunately never got to achieve his dream, as a group of young children ambushed him and suffocated him. As Rocky died, he punched a boy is the face, who was the one that was holding his trunk, and killed him.

Juggling Walrus
This massive walrus was a late-arrival at the circus, and was kept in the cage room a lot, for a lot of members of the circus had already perished. He was taught to juggle, until he was able to juggle six balls. On his grand opening, Juggling Walrus stood on a podium and juggled his balls like there was no tomorrow. Then he threw all of his juggling balls in the air and one was thrown so high, that it knocked a colour light down and it smashed on Walrus' head and killed him. He died slumped on the podium, his circus balls bouncing across the floor as they landed.

Clowns
There were a a army of clowns in the circus, lead by Chuckles who had a nasty pet ferret. One by one the clowns died, whether it was from being crushed by a clown car or choking on their clown noses. Chuckles was the last to die out of the clowns. He was walking across the circus walkways which had become a bottomless pit. His ferret suddenly attacked him and then he had no choice but to throw it down into the pit. As he then sadly walked away, he then noticed a pile of lit dynamite in his giant trousers. He didn't have time to take them off, as the exploded and killed him.

Inhuman Cannonball
The Inhuman Cannonball was a mean human cannonball that actually lived inside the circus cannon. One day, he discovered that the cannon secretly led to a room full of TNT Barrels. He didn't have time to tell anyone about it as the barrels suddenly exploded and killed him in the process.

Oh, those are some really interesting 'mysterious deaths'. Nice one.

Scarab Dynasty - July 27, 2005 05:14 PM (GMT)
Indeed. Nice :)

Rotgut - July 30, 2005 02:26 PM (GMT)
What do you mean by interesting "mysterious deaths"?

Scarab Dynasty - July 30, 2005 05:21 PM (GMT)
I think she means just means interesting, Rotgut as in arousing or attracting the attention. ;)

Sarah Frost - July 30, 2005 06:09 PM (GMT)
Yup. :) Interesting.

Rotgut - July 30, 2005 07:02 PM (GMT)
Well if it just meant that, then there was no point you putting it in italics. Oh, I'm being so critizical.

Sarah Frost - July 30, 2005 08:04 PM (GMT)
No, italics can be used for emphasis. For example: He never realised how good it felt until he finally ate an omelet for himself. Sarcasm can be shown by italics, true, but I don't even think that's the most common use of italics.

Rotgut - July 30, 2005 08:27 PM (GMT)
Okay...

Scarab Dynasty - July 30, 2005 09:00 PM (GMT)
When you put emphasis on something, RG, it suggests that the word is especially important and needs to be highlighted.

For example. "it was quiet. Too quiet."

or

"Well duh, what did you think I meant?"

In other words if you believe something is really interesting, you will show it by putting emphasis on that word, be either writing it in itallics or bold or in CAPSLOCK. (or in all three if you're feeling really over the top :P)

If the emphasis had been placed on the word really instead of interesting, I guess it would sound more like sarcasm.
