- Dax came to the cove soon after he came into his powers. He knew he'd been chosen to become a Dragon Rider all his life and studied as hard as he could. When Serena was finally Hatched, he tended to her every need, not wanting his dragon to feel any pain or discomfort for any reason. When he first arrived, he noticed one girl in particular who seemed to be close to the Master Riders; Mardra. He soon found out exactly who she was, but it didn't stop him from persuing her. He fell madly in love with her the moment they met and asked her to marry him very shortly after. He was the happiest man alive on their honeymoon. Their dragons enhancing their pleasures with their own mating rituals. They coupled quite frequently, even after their return to the Cove. And quite often, several times a day, with and without their dragon's mating.
Barely a year later, Tessandra Elara Bronté was born, and their family was complete. However, the happy life that they led was soon to be disrupted. When the prophecy of Dark Haven fullfilled itself, it afected him more than he had anticipated. Mardra went into a severe depression, a result of both child birth and the loss of her mentors. He had to nearly raise Tess on his own for the first year while the late Master Riders' son took care of the Cove. It wasn't easy, but he never left Mardra's side.
When she finally overcame the depression, and she was named Master Rider, he was extatic for her, yet worried at the same time. What if the depression resurfaced? What if she couldn't handle it? What would happen to them? Even though he, too, was named Master Rider by his wife, he was still nervous. And his anxieties were not without cause. Their relationship was on the rocks. They fought over everything. Even their own daughter. They finally decided that marriage was not for them, and they divorced. A sad day, but inevitable, nonetheless.
THough marriage was not a coat for htem to wear, friendship was. They raised their child together, as friends. And remain so to this day.[/i]
